pschweig 6
Hi I have been looking at a new NAS primarily for household data storage but I discovered that you can install Emby right on the NAS itself. I like the idea of that as the NAS would be always on with no hassles of Wake on LAN etc. Currently I have a Win 10 HTPC that runs the Emby server with my DVB-T tuner cards inside for recording TV (Freeview - UK). Is it possible to run the server on the QNAP NAS and configure the Win 10 box to be used when recordings are scheduled? I presume the tv tuner htpc could record directly onto the NAS for storage. If the Win 10 HTPC goes into sleep mode would Empy on the NAS be able to wake it up when a recording is scheduled? thanks for the beginner help Paul
Luke 37112
Hi, you can use Emby Server on QNAP with an HD Homerun network tuner. There's no way at this time to have it use an internal tuner on a different machine. Actually, maybe there is a way. You could put NextPVR onto the windows machine, and then import next pvr into the QNAP server using the next pvr plugin. That's one option.
