MagicDoubleM 93
I'm trying to make my server a little more efficient and one of the goals is, to put a raid volume with “a few” hard-drives to sleep asap, not have them spinning for a 2-4h movie, or a album, just to serve little chunks again and again. I've reached my goal partially, in cases when Emby needs to transcode, by simply transcoding to a RAM-disk. But for cases where no transcode is needed, there is no real solution to this. I've played around with PrimoCache (and their RAM-disk), but nope, these solutions are not smart enough to see what emby wants next. Any ideas? Luke 37113
Hi, are you sure you've reached the goal when transcoding because the source file also needs to be read at the same time, right?
MagicDoubleM 93
I have disabled throttling for transcodes and the transcoding process is quite fast here, so in a normal scenario the HDDs go to sleep waaaaaaaay before the movie-night is over.
