DarkStar1977 40
Hi I'm trying to use Gamebrowser to allocate all my ROMs in a common platform under Emby the same way I'm doing with movies, tv shows, books, etc. I'm running emby server on a WD PR4100, and I know I will not be able to launch games from there but the purpose is not to launch the games from emby in my case is to have a central repository where from other computers in the network I can download an specific ROM to play it outside emby. Said that I'm strugling on getting my videogames shown in the videogames section, even I followed up the setup guide: I've setup the folder: I've run the Scan and the files are properly placed (I think) with the appropiate extension: The corresponding library does not identify the Sytem: Even if you go to Folders instead of Game Systems or Games, the folders are there: What I am doing wrong ? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
shaefurr 1337
Can you post your folder structure? Is 0001 - Electroplankton (J) (Trashman) directly inside your -ROMS\NINTENDO_DS folder, or are there more subfolders? I also noticed you have alternating slashes (\ /) in your folder path \\192.168.1.101/-ROMS/NINTENDO_DS, but perhaps that is specific to the NAS you're using. I've only used Synology's which uses typical windows format with a \.
DarkStar1977 40
Hi, yes of course, the folder structure is simple: Regarding the \ / It's done by emy authomatically when I'm browsing the \\192.168.1.101 inside Gamebrowser Plugin because the folder is in another network computer, works for all other libraries: PS: The other System folders are empty and not configured Edited October 12, 2022 by DarkStar1977
shaefurr 1337
Ah gotcha, sorry I haven't set up Gamebrowser in quite some time lol. Folder structure seems fine, in the Emby server dashboard under Library, do you have a library added for Games content that points to \\192.168.1.101/-ROMS? shaefurr 1337
Have you tried running a full media scan? If that doesn't work, try removing the platform the the gamebrowser plugin, re-add it then kick off a new scan. As far as I can tell everything should be good config wise. DarkStar1977 40
Ok, after more than a month overloaded by work I had time today to make some tests. I can confirm the issue is caused by using a network folder "\\192.100.1.101/-ROMS" even the library supports that (all the libraries works fine with that) and Gamebrowser plugin is capable to configure a system folder to a network folder the plugin then is not capable to map the system or the games but in folder view are all there..... Tested that on a local folder "/mnt/HD/HD_a2/MULTIMEDIA/TEST ROMS/NINTENDO_DS" and works perfectly, system is identified and games inside as well. @Luke can u please check what's going on with network folders on this plugin ? Probably is something that can be corrected in less than 5 minutes Thanks in advance.

DarkStar1977 40
Hi I have Emby on a WDPR4100 and I have another WD PR4100 where I can add libraries by placing the network folder: \\192.168.1.101\Folder Recently I've just acquired a WD EX4100 and I have shared folders too in there with the same configuration that the other PR4100 but Emby is not capable to browse the newtwork folder: \\192.168.1.102\Folder I do not remember if for the first PR4100 added some permissions via SSH and I cannot find any topic that helps. Can someone help me ? Thanks

Your network path is either unreachable altogether, or unreachable without authentication, and currently Emby Server does not provide a way for you to enter authentication information. DarkStar1977 40
BTW, it's too strange both topics have been merged, the Game Browser one and the EX4100 one and are separate issues with the same problem.

Does the WD support mounting network paths to a local folder? If it does, then this would be the recommended way because then you can enter any required authentication that way. DarkStar1977 40
@Luke I'm reopening now the EX4100 issue as is not related to Gamebrowser in a new topic with more details here:
DarkStar1977 40
@Luke no WD does not support mounting network paths to local folder. Please look at the other topic I've opened. Thanks
Luke 37062
OK please attach the emby server log. That will help tell us if it is authentication related or if it just can't reach the location at all. Thanks.

DarkStar1977 40
@Lukemake some tests with the SMB protocols on the EX4100 and this is what I've found: SMB1: Founds the Server, you can navigate the folders but does not keep the path on the library, so you cannot save it SMB2: Same as before cannot find the server SMB3: Same as before cannot find the server It's curious because the PR4100 has SMB2 with same configuration and works properly. I believe they've changed something on OS5 on EX4100 SMB Protocol and it's not working fine. PR4100 is on OS3.
Luke 37062
The SMB library embedded into Emby Server only supports SMB1. In the upcoming 4.8 release it has been updated to support newer versions of the protocol.
DarkStar1977 40
Ok, will wait for 4.8 to see if this solves the issue. Many thanks as always
