Hi all,
I'm getting the following error on multiple clients recently
"This Emby Server needs to be updated. To download the latest version, please visit <a href="https://emby.media">https://emby.media</a>"

I've confirmed the issue on below clients:
MacOS <<< <<< emby.media
Brave browser <<< emby.media
iOS app
Chrome <<< emby.media
Firefox <<< emby.media

Server is latest beta 4.8.0.10
No issues on Emby AndroidTV - Shield TV or Apple TV

I tried to look at logs while I log in but I can't see anything wrong. I collected logs as I clicked log in button.

Hi, if you're certain that is your server version, then try removing the server from the server selection screen and then adding it back again by doing a manual connection.

There is a rare issue I've found that may cause this message to be erroneously displayed, when the true problem is actually just a connection failure.

Hi, actually scratch that. I see the problem. It will be resolved in the next set of app updates. Thanks.

Any update ? still can't use my mobile app , any remedy in the meantime to bypass the error ? Is the issue on beta or stable as well

Thank you

It's a problem in the apps, not the server. As each app gets published to it's store again, it will be resolved. What apps specifically are you still having an issue with?

Yes those have the fix by now. But not yet for the iOS and macOS apps. It will be in the next updates for them.

Hi, have you updated to emby for apple TV 1.6.7?

This is resolved for the next update to the emby iOS app. Thanks.

I log in on the Apple TV by skipping the pin and just find the local server, after adding the IP/port it doesn't give any error but it doesn't pull any users to log in either, just a blank screen.
I tried re-installing the app as well.
Honestly I love Emby and that is why I pay for this app, the only issue I have are the clients being very bad, PC, iOS, browser even, it's always a hit or miss , some content don't even start on my phone however it plays fine on my shield TV. Hope it gets sorted out.

Thank you

Hi @Luke, I'm getting the same error in the Android app on several devices and also when I go in my browser to http://app.emby.media/ it drops me the same error. Logging on through browser by navigating to the IP address loads the server OK. Readding the server does not solve the problem.

I'm on FreeNAS, server version is  4.6.4.0, android app version is 3.2.90.
I've tried to update the server plug-in in FreeNAS, but in the GUI I got the error:

Error: pkg error: - pkg-static: http://pkg.FreeBSD.org/FreeBSD:11:amd64/latest/meta.txz: Not Found pkg-static: http://pkg.FreeBSD.org/FreeBSD:11:amd64/latest/packagesite.txz: Not Found Please check your network.

When manually trying to update it in the shell (as per https://emby.media/freenas-server.html) I got the error:

Host: 11.3-RELEASE in not greater than target: 13.1-RELEASE
This is unsupported.

Do you know if this is an app, a FreeNAS GUI or a server problem?

Thank you very much!

Hi @Luke, I actually did the right thing and updated FreeNAS to TrueNAS Core - and of course I can connect to the new server, thank you!
