Rolivaras 2
I'm having problems with some HDR files. The problems are: The color is washed out. CPU usage is at 100% I'm using emby premiere, enabled hardware acceleration, HDR tone mapping. Here are examples of how it's going. The images are from Emby Theater, but in the chrome browser they also appear that way. Here, using a 1080p file without HDR. Here, 4k file with HDR. embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode-025a0fda-02c0-4b7c-a936-0ba8d53467dc_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-566efb22-df93-4936-b070-43e64de307a3_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-ad6b2b57-a352-442c-b27b-74ec75346121_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-b6766d67-7d8b-41c8-9e7e-fd7397a4e85e_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-d2361996-bcc2-46af-98d1-80a9e95126fb_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-e54906a8-7a1f-4982-8fed-1793846add70_1.txt Edited September 9, 2022 by Rolivaras
Luke 37272
Hi, @softworkz will take a look at this. Thanks.
softworkz 3350
@Rolivaras - The problem is that your GPU is very old. It doesn't even support HEVC decoding. That's why decoding is done by CPU and later, the uncompressed frames are uploaded to the hardware - which takes time. There's one playback with tone mapping which is above 1.0x speed, because it's scaled down to 640x360, but the other log shows an attempt to perform tone mapping on the full 4k video and that's just too much. For the colors, you can try different tone mapping settings by installing the Diagnostics Plugin, going to "Advanced Transcoding" and then switch to the "Tone Mapping" tab. Hope this helps, sw
Rolivaras 2
I understand, thanks for the clarification. About the plugin, where can I get it? Taking advantage of the topic, I've noticed that .ssa subtitles that are embedded in the container take a few minutes to load and appear on the client. Usually in anime files. Another problem with embedded subtitles, when there is an accent like ã á, the phrases are not appearing. This happened in the file with tone mapping problem on this topic. Rolivaras 2
Okay, I changed the tone mapping algorithms, but it made no difference.

Happy2Play 8361
@Rolivaras Both these logs show Tone Mapping is disabled. Info Tone Mapping would be desired, but the algorithm is set to 'None' What is your Tone Mapping setting on Transcode menu?

softworkz 3350
This is weird. I'm not sure what's happening here. Could you please post the tonemapping.xml file from the programdata/config folder?

softworkz 3350
Hm, that looks good. I even placed it locally into my config and it's working fine. Does tone mapping work if you disable HW acceleration? (make sure to choose a low quality in the client like 480p or something, so it's not running too slow.) Rolivaras 2
I put it to play without hardware acceleration, but with tone mapping, it didn't have the greenish screen like before the premium subscription, but it still has a whitish tone. embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode-bc39c9dc-4d54-4785-a6ea-681dfc6cea70_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-86e21794-44d0-4a91-8177-14780add2e9b_1.txt Edited October 12, 2022 by Rolivaras
