TheShanMan 34
I've got some TV series that used to work just fine but now the content doesn't show up anymore. Checking the logs, I see "invalid folder under series" for it. What does that mean? How do I figure out what is "invalid" about it so I can correct it? TheShanMan 34
I looked more closely at my logs and I realize what is common to all of these messages. They are all shows that aren't in the standard structure of "season x" subfolders. They do have subfolders but they aren't season based subfolders. The episodes are grouped in categories. This worked just fine for a long time but apparently some change to the server recently caused this to stop working. How can I get these episodes to show up again? I'm just hoping the metadata will still be there or I can find it in my backups because it was a pain to set up the metadata for these when I first set them up. TheShanMan 34
OK, then how would you suggest I handle a TV show like this? It's not an arbitrary structure I set up. The DVD's (Looney Tunes being the main example) were simply not released in "season 1", "season 2", etc. format. Surely there is something I can do with this TV show that doesn't lose the categorization defined by the DVD's? The other videos that fell into this problem recently are in a "mixed movies and tv" collection and they aren't actually a TV series. They're just videos in folders and subfolders. Should I recreate that collection as some other type?
TheShanMan 34
Currently the "season" folders are named things like "1 - Best of Bugs Bunny". What exactly is acceptable for a season folder name? Could I change it to "Season 1 - Best of Bugs Bunny"? In other words, is it possible to have more than just a season designation? I think that would be a reasonable solution for me if it would work.
Abobader 2947
Good day, I do not know if Luke add something new here, but it was always like "Season 1" or "Season 01" Why you need to add that "Best of Bugs Bunny" to the folder season? The server will put that titles on top of the tv series what the season coming from. My best
TheShanMan 34
Any advice on how to get these non-standard series that worked not long ago working again? I hope I don't have to restructure the files. I'm hoping it's something I can do in the server itself. Or would this be considered a bug that was recently introduced? Luke 37097
what is the convention for these kinds of series amongst other tools like sickbeard, nzbdrone, or xbmc? whatever that is, we'll support it (probably already do), as opposed to just coming up with something new. if you want the freedom of no convention then just classify them as home videos. ebr 14925
I don't think it is a bug. I think we have to define the structures we support in order to make functionality work the way we want it to. If you are using a structure we don't support then, well, it won't be supported . If it worked before, that was the bug.
ebr 14925
Yep, unless the tvdb defines some sort of seasons for them you will probably have to treat them like movies or collections of videos.
BATTLE DONKEY 98
http://thetvdb.com/?id=72514&tab=series Looney tunes is split up in years, are the DVDs not like that? I'm not sure how the DVD order differs, I didn't look into it much but I know I have seen other topics about Looney tunes shows in the past. Either see if you can order them the same as tvdb or do a search of the forums to see what other users have done with their Looney tunes libraries
TheShanMan 34
Problem is I want them in with other TV shows given that this is, after all, a TV show (well, they may have started out as movie shorts but in my lifetime it was a TV show). I have no idea what the convention is for other tools. All I know is it worked in MB3 as I had it up until recently. Anyway, I tried renaming my subdirectories in the style I mentioned and that seems to have worked, at least on first glance.
ebr 14925
Look on the tvdb. I think they call them something like "Season 1949".

BATTLE DONKEY 98
http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/4726-disney-shorts-organizing/?fromsearch=1 You can find some good suggestions in this thread on the forums. Look at the 4th post down to see a creative way to organise your collection by character (because you said it was "best of bugs bunny") but also keep in mind u will have to do some of your own work with the metadata and locking it down so it doesn't get overwritten. Hope it helps
TheShanMan 34
Yeah, I already did the work of setting up this series. The problem wasn't in setting it up. The problem was in MB suddenly not recognizing it any longer. But like I said above, the change I made seems to be working. Thanks though.
