Jogi1986 9
Carlo 4330
Hi, this is going to depend on a few things. First for good 4K viewing in house (same LAN as server) you want to make sure your media is direct played so check stats for nerds (cog menu) during playback. Let us know what stats for nerds show you. Can you download MediaInfo and show us what this shows for the media you are trying to play back? Carlo 4330
Need this from the program Media Info in the tree view with the options for levels and profiles turned on. We want to see the levels/profiles for the video which Emby doesn't have.

Carlo 4330
Based on ffprobe which doesn't always get this correct. It's likely correct, but just want to double check. Edited August 11, 2021 by cayars

Carlo 4330
Thanks for that confirmation and of course @Happy2Play was correct. When playing this file back to the TV what does Emby Server show for the playback? Direct Play, Direct Stream or Transcoding?
Jogi1986 9
I use the emby App for Apple TV and the Kodi Sync Addon. With no from these 2 I have HDR Mode on my TV. With Apple TV+, Netflix etc I have HDR because Dolby Vision. But with Emby my TV didn’t switch in the HDR Mode. Apple TV is corrected configuring. adapt to content. Is activated on Apple TV. I think it is a problem with server or App/Addon. While, when I play the file on a test Plex Server, my tv goes in HDR Mode.

Jogi1986 9
I have the Emby standard settings where can I actually set that Edited August 12, 2021 by Jogi1986
Carlo 4330
It's not a setting but the Dashboard show this when you playback a video. Look at the device on the Dashboard when playing back this media and it will show one of the 3 values.
Jogi1986 9
Good Morning, sorry for the late answer. I checked the playback variant on emby app and Kodi add-on. The Variant is direct Playback
Carlo 4330
Does that translate to "Direct Play" or "Direct Stream" ? If it's Direct Play I'm not sure what the issue could be and we will need to hear from one of the AppleTV devs.
Jogi1986 9
Direct Play is right. Edited August 14, 2021 by Jogi1986
Jogi1986 9
I think the problem ist the Emby app and the kodi sync Addon. I tested a 4K HDR Video on my Emby Server with MrMc (the same, what I tested with the emby app) and MrMC show me the HDR Colors and my tv goes into the HDR Mode. Same with a Dolby Vision File. With Emby App no Dolby Vision. In MrMc I have Dolby Vision Colors
Luke 37067
Have you tried the Emby app on your Apple TV instead of Kodi?
Jogi1986 9
Yes. I've tried both. I also tried the stable add-on and the beta add-on at kodi. The apple TV app is also up to date.
