Deathsquirrel 741
I'm hoping someone has some suggestions to fix this. If I look at the artist in the metadata editor it shows 16 albums for the artist and that he's set to sort as Yankovic, Weird Al. If I look in Album Artists or Artists he actually shows up as "Weird Al" Yankovic and is filed ahead of the letter A. If I click that entry it shows no albums at all. If I look in the Albums view I see all the albums but they're filed under W. There are pics attached illustrating that if it's helpful Any notions? Is there some useful log data I can provide to help figure this out? Edited August 28, 2014 by Deathsquirrel

FrostByte 5052
You could try removing the "'s and doing a save/refresh or identify. Mine doesn't have them and just reads Weird Al Yankovic with nothing in the sort name
Deathsquirrel 741
Bug with music artists and quotes Thanks, I'd read that and thought my symptoms were different. Fix was the same though. Losing the quotes and rescanning the library sorted it out.
ginjaninja 537
i just added some content for “Weird Al” Yankovic, with the quotes, because thats how the artist is primarily known on musicbrainz. I had no problem with content being detected against mbz and audiodb the sort name is blank (as it would be for a new artist) the name is with quotes as it should be all the artist's albums shows up against the artist FWIW filtering on # in dashboard view doesnt loose the "wired al" yankovic entry for me, as in other post. loosing the quotes and rescanning fixing the issue is possibly a workaround, would be good to get to the bottom of the issue. what happens when you put quotes back in and rescan death squirrel? Deathsquirrel 741
what happens when you put quotes back in and rescan death squirrel? Looks like I stay at only one artist entry where previously I had 2, it sorts correctly under Artists and Album Artists, but when I click the artist name I get no albums. My results may be different because my MP3 tags don't have quotes around his name either.
ginjaninja 537
It does not seem like this but There will be an issue if two different tags are resolved to the one mbz id...mb3 currently has an issue showing content in these cases..but this issue manifests itself as multiple objects for the same artist but all those objects showing only the content pertaining to one of the similar id3 tags. It certainly helps mb3 if the tags match musicbrainz and the same tags are identical. Edited August 29, 2014 by ginjaninja
