I am thinking about getting myself a Meta Quest 3 VR headset. And although there are third party apps that can stream via DLNA. a native app would be preferred. Have you considered creating an Emby app for the Meta Quest 3?

I turned off every sleep possibility for the drives individually and for the server in general and for all the USB ports. how do i do this ? & them 13 external USB drives ,are they enclosures & how come you have so many usb ports & are they all 2.0 or 3.0 or mixed , sorry so many questions

I start emby with the task scheduler before logging in. It works fine, but after logging in later, the embytray is missing. Is there a possibility to start embytray manually, too? Or do I need to stop emby server again and then start it again manually?

Without trying the setup out, it is really impossible to say how it will perform. As no one has the same media in the same bitrate/codec conditions. So what works for one may fail miserably for another.

I made a typo in my post, I'm on version 21. I can't install the zip because of the version number in addon.xml. I realized the invalid structure error happens after I edit addon.xml to change the version number. Re-compressing the files is probably introducing the issue but I'm not sure what other compression apps to try; I tried BetterZip and Mac's built-in compression. Would you consider releasing a version with the addon.xml updated? I also read that line might not be necessary even.

I use 13 external USB drives and I have them directly connected to the server and all works fine. However I use DrivePool to pool the drives and I turned off every sleep possibility for the drives individually and for the server in general and for all the USB ports. Sleep is the enemy of servers. In general no server should ever be allowed to sleep. I also do not allow my server to preform any automatic updates. I try to keep my server as free of interference as possible and sleeping is interference on a grand scale.

It will vary a lot on media and playback methods as you may have a man in the middle scenario. Really not different then media on a NAS and Emby on a PC. Sometimes the connection between the NAS and PC creates a bottleneck. But there are really a lot of variables/condition in the scenario.

Except every show that gets streamed is passed through the server so you add another network step when it must go from source to server through the network then to your TV or other viewing device. Pretty much exactly how @Happy2Playstated. If you have a good solid network that is not over burdened, as I do, then that extra pass through the network is not meaningful but, if your network is already heavily loaded then adding that one step could adversely impact the streaming.

I would be just using my original pc & another pc so that would be only 2 pc's would that create a bottleneck and when you say bottleneck you mean other users wont be able to stream from it on another network. What really does bottleneck mean

That difference is tiny to me. Others may notice it but I do not really see it. I can confirm there is a difference (I just tested) but the 'animations," to me, look worse and having them off does not produce the "bug" and the lack of the bug is a HUGE difference cosmetically. As I have said before the cosmetics of Emby is not real important to me but it is better for any interface to look good than not and, in this case for me, no animations look better than "animations." Yes you can add folders from any share available to Emby on your network. So folders from 10 different computers can be added assuming permissions are in line with the access Emby needs depending on your library settings. At the same time this may create a bottleneck when streaming media through your Emby server.

Greetings, I have the following problem, I have 2 computers with linux mint and there I installed the flatpack version of Emby Theater. No matter what I try to play (music, movies, TV) only the loading circle appears and nothing happens. Via the browser it works as usual and with the windows version of Emby Theater it also works without problems. I think it has to do with the update to the latest server version 4.8.7.0. I have also tried to delete Emby Theater and reinstall it, but that didn't help either.

It doesn't behave the same. With animations enabled, you will see a "smooth scrolling" effect as the posters animate from one position to the next. With them disabled, the posters simply snap into the next position. Perhaps "Enable Smooth Scrolling" would be a better term to use...

Are you saying yes i can set up folders on another pc , so 2 pc's with say movies on one and tv shows on the other pc and they will connect together on emby server and i will be able to acesss the whole lot say through a tv on another network.

Not really as I don't understand the "word" "animation" in this context. With "animations" disabled the scrolling looks exactly the same as it did before except the display does not screw up on return from a movie. Of course my old eyes might not be noticing the difference or I may prefer it so much that my old brain dismisses the differences as just proper operation. I can confirm that this really does fix my problems because there have been several times over the last day or so that I preformed actions that would before screw up my display and the display was always fine. Can you elaborate as every client will likely do something different. Probably need the media info for the file also.

My Dolby Vision movies are tinted extremely green when direct played, but are properly colored when transcoded to a different resolution/bitrate. What’s going on here?

No, you can run the script all by itself without restarting if you're logged on with admin rights. That's the only thing I can think of why it didn't work until the restart for waqar123. Of course, when you restart the system is running the script which is why it works then. Just looking at the guide really quick I don't see where I specified which privileges you needed though.
