Nice, I edited my above post. You could take a look at @TeamBClassification Mapper if you haven't already. That could give you some ideas.

Agree - the primary purpose of the Plugin (as it's name suggests) is to actually modify the MKV and auto-name it with the proper media info. In order to do this, it does need the external tools, mediainfo itself to identify (because ffmpeg cannot do it) and mkvtoolnix to write the mkv files (emby cannot do this either). I've been adding tag functionality as a bonus - but it's a fair point that this plugin is not required to do this - any normal plugin without the extra files can do this just fine. Any tags are not written to the MKV anyway, they are only written to the emby db. I may remove some of the tag parts and make it a stand alone Plugin instead (with all the non mediainfo tag stuff).

WAN You can test it by just running nslookup <your domain> from a command prompt. It should return your WAN IP.

JPlay iOS app, currently I have to use it with Jellyfin that maps the same folder and all the album covers appears. I'd love to use that with emby as i prefer this server but only show the cover when start playing a song, not when navigate thru albums. I have Premier and the last DLNA Plugin version installed. thanks

Yeah it does seem a bit over the top for a simple library filter. Using mkvtoolnix/mediainfo to write the tag to the media file is a bit complicated. I don't think we need something that permanent and a tag in emby's db would be enough for me personally. @TeamBClassification Mapper could be a good example, it writes classifications to the db plus tags for backup/restore features. It has a nice interface showing what is current and has a schedule to keep things updated.

How to solve the prompt "Too many errors.Giving up." on the TV
Dwarf replied to noistr's topic in Android TV / Fire TV
No because i paid for Emby and the Android TV app was working perfectly. Let me know what i can do from my end so your team can solve the issue. I also noticed that when i chose a subtitle f.e Dutch, it would not show and if i picked f.e. Danish it would show the Dutch subtitle. -
DJAndieK started following Emby Theatre on Steam Deck won't play any videos

I recently got myself a new Steam Deck OLED. I installed Emby Theatre and the navigation works fine. When I try to play something nothing happens. I just get a spinning ring no matter what I try. Is there a fix for this as I've search everywhere and nothing seems to be reported. If someone could point me to the right place for the logs I'll see what I can do to post them.

I had the same problem, but my girlfriend accidentally unplugged the hard drive power. All good now... -
Strange behaviour with forced subtitles
donniedarko83 replied to donniedarko83's topic in Android TV / Fire TV
I have removed the diagnostics plugin. But yesterday after a lot of testing I googled the error message "Too many packets buffered for output stream 1:1" and there I found a solution. Someone mentioned to Disable HLS Subtitles in the diagnostics plugin to solve this issue. I installed the plugin again and now it works without any issue! But I don't really understand what this does, because I am still able to see the subtitles. And after every restart I must disable the HLS subtitles in the diagnostics plugin. Is it somehow possible to always disable the HLS subtitles? -
embyforkodi (next-gen) 9.X.X support
snoopyjoe14 replied to quickmic's topic in Emby For Kodi Next Gen
I tried a clean Kodi install on Windows (Kodi 20.5) with E4K 9.4.21 and got the same result. Anything played with E4K 9 does not get updated or marked as watched on the server. I tried playing "Sabrina the teenage witch" from a imported .strm file from Paramount+ addon. I have the embyserver log as well. kodi.log -

Emby must report the change via Websocket.

Can connect to server externally, but not internally.
kevinyoki replied to kevinyoki's topic in General/Windows
Yes, I have been using the local address since the start. Although I have attempted using the external address to see if it would work. -
Hi, we’ll take a look at this. Thanks for reporting.

Hi, it sounds like the LG app just can’t reach your server. Where did the ssl certificate come from? lg is very picky about certificates and there is no way for us to override this.

Keyword search only match from the beginning of the string?
ylatsj posted a topic in General/Windows
For example I have a music named as "abcdefg.mp3". I am able to use Emby search engine to find this file if I search keyword "abc". BUT, if I search the keyword of "cde" I won't be able to find this file. This is such a strange design for a file search engine. I wonder if Emby could make it easier to match a keyword within the whole string? This is just an argument of database. I don't see any reasons why Emby can't do it. -
Is the file on disk changing or just the display in Emby server?
