Emby Server 3.0.5582 Beta Released
This is predominantly a maintenance release but there are some new goodies to enjoy. Without further ado, here are the highlights.
Control Your Cloud Sync Upload Speed
You can now configure this in the sync settings area.
To learn more about Cloud Sync, check out the release notes from the previous release:

Manage Your Sync Conversion Speed
Now you can control both the speed and the number of CPU cores that are utilized by sync conversion tasks.
New Sync Management Settings
Suppose you'd like to give your users access to Sync, but you don't want them hammering your CPU. Now you can limit their access to sync transcoding so that they're only able to sync original files.
New User Management Settings
You now have the ability to limit a user's access to transcoding, another tool at your disposal to conserve your CPU.
Keep in mind that taking away transcoding could make it impossible to play some content on certain devices. When this happens, your users will receive a friendly error message:
We're working hard to get these graceful error messages into every Emby app. Please be patient while we do this.
New Streaming Management Settings
Suppose you have limited upload speed and want to enforce a cap for all remote clients. Now you can easily do this from the Streaming settings page.
Keep in mind that reducing the allowed bitrate will make transcoding more likely to occur. But as with everything else, it's all your choice.
Emby Chooses the Right One
You might have multiple copies of media available thanks to features like Cloud Sync, Folder Sync, and the ability to store multiple copies of a video in a single folder. Emby will choose the most efficient one for every device, and this now incorporates the above management settings. Whether it be limiting access to transcoding, or setting a bitrate limit, all of these options are taken into consideration when choosing the most efficient media source.
An All-New Live TV Guide
The guide now fills the screen and is a joy to scroll or flick through. It's fast, it's pretty and it's now free of the double scrollbars it had before.
And when you're mobile, it's a whole new experience that's easier and friendlier than ever.
Channels are also now sorted by your favorites and likes, which will make it easier for users with hundreds of channels.
Sync Your Live TV Recordings
Supported by Cloud Sync, Mobile Sync and Folder Sync!
Direct Play Live TV from Supported Clients
If you you're on the Emby Theater beta channel, you'll now enjoy Live TV without any transcoding, subject to support from your installed Live TV provider. Even if transcoding is required, the process will be more efficient than ever.
Beautiful Dynamic Thumbnails for Collections & Playlists
We think you're going to really enjoy these. Make sure to thank t.andre in the community.
