I noticed tv show now have the alphabetical thing on right edge, like it had already on movies!

Just noticed afterward, under Bug Fixes, they call it "alphabet picker"

  • Add automatic direct play to transcoding switching on video failures

THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!!!!! i just tested this out and it does wonders for our viewing experience! my recorded TV files will sometimes play direct streamed fine, and sometimes won't. when they don't the "play" screen would never stay up long enough for me to get to the button that was added to force it to transcode. i just tried this out and played a recorded tv show that started out trying to direct stream but couldn't so it automatically switched to transcoding and played perfectly! live tv is also working great for me now, it transcodes every time, which is what i want. i no longer have to switch back and forth between using the internal player or external VLC player.

now, don't touch anything! ;)

but seriously, thanks for your hard work on this, i can easily say everything is perfect for me now :)

damn i spoke too soon! :( found at least one recorded tv that won't play on the nexus player, works fine in the web browser and emby theater and android mobile. the only thing i notice with the one that doesn't work versus the ones that do, when hitting play it comes up on the nexus player as "direct/V" but looking at the server it lists it as "transcode" and then fails to play. the other ones will come up "direct/V" on the nexus player and also say "Direct stream" on the server, then once it fails everything switches to transcoding and it plays. i even tried using the web player to play to the nexus player and it fails that way too doing the same thing.

I am having problems with streaming certain episodes of South Park now which streamed seamlessly before. Other content seems to play however. It may be relating to the comment above it seems? I can pass through some logs if that helps but I am positive it is from this update.

Check post in 3.2.1.... Shit is still F'd up... this is why you are losing contributors.

Had to go back to 3.1.1 to not have issues... and yet I had to go find that. It's BS

I am sorry that you believe this is an Emby problem, but it is actually a Firefox defect. You can learn more here:

Or on the Mozilla tracker:

Thanks.

OK, so it's a Firefox issue. However, I asked about that in the 3.2.1 update and no one said anything about it. According to the bug report on Mozilla, it has been known since 4 months ago. So, someone should have said something. Instead I'm lead to believe, it's just another bug in continuous buggy updates.

The thing is, I can use 3.1.1 and not have any issues. That is, with in reason (toleration). So, why can't y'all give use easier access to older versions? If we so chose to go that route, instead of making us rename a file (basically, disabling something that I'm not sure of) and so forth to work around the issue till an actual fix is posted. I think there is a couple of different ways this could be handled.

Anyway, that's all I have to say for now about that. However, I'll do like you said before and make a topic about my other concerns and issues... when I actually have time to do so with out interruptions.

Thanks for the info (a bit late) :)
