vendion 4
I'm new to Emby, recently migrated from Plex, and I have a question on part of the "Complex Library Structure" section of the TV naming wiki page. On that page it suggests the following: It's also possible to have a sub-folder group multiple shows together in an otherwise normal directory structure. Use the metadata manager to change the content type of the sub-folder to TV. \TV --- content type TV \TV show 1 \Season 1 \Star Trek --- change content type to TV using metadata manager \Star Trek \Season 1 \Star Trek: The next Generation \Season 1 I'm trying to replicate a similar layout in my Library but I don't see how to set the content type using the metadata manager on my server. Because of this Emby shows one show with all the other shows as "Seasons" which is not what I want. Is such a structure still supported or should I just break out the different shows in a top level directory in my TV library? I'm using Emby Version 3.5.2.0 if that helps Edited November 27, 2018 by vendion
legallink 187
The structure is Library Folder > TV Show > Season X So, if you have TV shows, you would call the Library Folder whatever you want (you can call it TV but it isn’t important). The next folder level would be Shows, and inside of each show folder, the respective seasons. Then, when creating the library in the Emby app, you add the Library Folder and it will add all shows beneath it. Similarly you can add as many Library Folders to one library. Content Type is chosen at the library level and not the individual show/episode level. Edited November 27, 2018 by legallink
Happy2Play 8516
This is only available if you use a Mixed Content type library now. You can change the type field in Metadata Manager for this nested folder. There are some improvements for this in the next release (3.6), but is still limited to Mixed Content type library. vendion 4
Okay so it sounds like just going with a flat directory structure for the library might be the better/easier route then.
Happy2Play 8516
In the next release (3.6) you will be able to make collection in TV Shows and group them just like in Movies.
Luke 37484
The custom content types for sub-folders are also deprecated in 3.6 anyway. Too many headaches. Instead we will just improve our auto-detection.
