RanmaCanada 360
So I am trying to watch some stuff on my Android box, and I have it set to auto, and the server is saying that the bitrate limit is exceeded and that it must transcode the file to stream the file the whole 3 feet to my box. The file in question is not even 3mbit in total for bitrate. It's an MKV, with h264 and AC3 sound, and multiple sub tracks. The box is hardwired, on 100mbit, and even when I change the limit in Emby to 100mbit it still gives the same error that the file exceeds the bitrate limit and that it must be transcoded. It's rather odd as it's an ancient dvd rip of anime. It's at the bottom of the server log if anyone in the know how wants to take a look at it. I've also included the ffmpeg log file as well. I am not sure if I should be posting this in here or in the app section, but I figured it should go here as the server is not recognizing the limit on the app properly. If it's in the wrong place I do apologize. serverlog.zip ffmpeg.zip
Luke 37291
Actually what happened is it tried to direct play, the video player reported an error with the file, and then it automatically switched to transcoding in order to ensure successful playback. When this happens our reporting tends to be slightly off and that's why it incorrectly says bitrate exceeded. That's something we need to look at. RanmaCanada 360
Thank you. Could it be the directory naming, filenaming? Anything I can do to assist? These files will direct play no problem in SPMC, so I figured with the huge update to VLC I should see how things would work with the internal player (it is still the internal player, right?) haha. ebr 14965
My guess would be a codec that actually isn't working on the non-standard box but if you will follow the instructions to send a log from the app I'll see what I can tell. Thanks.
RanmaCanada 360
Ok log sent. For some reason it's also saying my app needs to be unlocked while I have Emby Premiere..but that's something else I'll look into. Once again, thank you. ebr 14965
I guess I need to make the font even bigger Then add the following information to your report in the forum: Exactly what you were doing and what happened. Include the name of whatever you played if it is a playback problem The time you sent the log The name of the Emby user on the local server that was logged in at the time
