Problems with DLNA at Oppo BDP-103

Hey there,

 

I just entered the Emby community and I am pretty excited how cool streaming works.

But unfortunately it works only with my TV but not with my Oppo Player (which is way better for audio and video.)

 

My Problem is that Emby doesn't present the video files in the right way as my my Bluray player supports al necessary codecs.

Nearly all videos (mostly ripped DVD/Bluray) are shown in the Oppo player as mpeg videos when I look in his own DLNA Browser. But in reality they are all MKVs.

I don't get why emby thinks that they need to be transcoded. And when I (try to) start a movie most of them are not played.

MAybe someone is willing to check the attached files.

 

I did of course search the forum but didn't find a solution for me.

Either wway I would suggest to initiate some kind of database for user DLNA-profiles to upload working ones, as it seems that these kind of "problems" occur pretty often.

 

And of course excuse my english ;-) (I'm no native speaker)

Hi, we haven't really tested oppo ourselves therefore we dont have a profile for it. If you or someone would like to design it then we can look at including it in a future release.

if I get this device up and running I would be glad if you do that.

But before I need helpto analyze the logfiles, because for me thay seem not very helpfull.

It seem Emby has problems with the subtitles but the device is able to show them.

Can't anyone put me in the right direction ?

To me it doesn't appear to be using your custom profile.  Have you tried adding "USER-AGENT: OPPO PLAYER UPnP" in the profile Identification Http Headers section?  Some have reported case sensitivity so it appear all upper case in log I would enter it that way.  You can look at other profiles for examples.

you're right. I didn't check this log before I sent it.

I know that the profile was accepted before but obviously I changed something in my setup what messed it up. That's because of all that trial and error.

I have to get back to that status and will report then again with an according log.

I'm back with a recognized config ;-)

But still it's not running, or better only some files are played.

Can you post the ffmpeg-......  log that is created.

But my guess is a codec issue.  I see you have DTS listed but DTS is not a codec DCA is.

 

Take a look at a movies media info to see proper codecs then modify the profile

I have to apologize for not responding but I was pretty busy the last weeks.

Anyway.

In case someone else is trying to get his Oppo BDP running I will attach my currently running config.

For me everything works. So at least it will be a good starting point for the next.

Maybe as a hint ... I'm pretty sure that I had a recognized config before with a different "USER AGENT : XXXXX". So it should be checked.
