Emby Connect can't reach server (connection works fine via direct domain/reverse proxy)
Luke replied to smity3's topic in General/Windows
I would try picking ne, blanking out the email address, saving, and then adding it back. Please see if that helps. -
Topic is why? Why would someone ever pirate stuff and add it to an emby server well I pay $300 a month to have all I watch with NO ads. Its life bro i dont want ads when i pay monthly no i want what i want when i want. Its life!

While I should, as a mere user, point out that neither Emby nor its users would ever condone marauding the high seas of piracy, I imagine a one stop shop would be quite popular.

No one said this yet but pirating is actually easier than signing up for a subscription, we need API keys this will be the winner for the company that does this so we can enter an API key into emby and have a one stop shop.

Networks Should Pay Attention
FourCorners replied to FourCorners's topic in Non-Emby General Discussion
Sad and it's a problem not for me but for them, I can spend time and get anything I want online for free and so can other people. If they sold an api for users to watch content on an emby server then I would have no reason to look through anything to download but 2026 I think the greed got worse. All the big corps need to do is sell api keys for people to enter into an emby server then they have no reason to pay app builders nor do they have the stress of hosting servers for garbage apps that dont work. I pay for a lot of apps I test apps I view and see for myself do they actually work? I form my own opinion I read the reviews I test apps it always ends the same. Apps are non working people are pissed and no one cares at the big corps. If enough people pirate they will feel it and only then will things change. -
Agreed and is the reason I spent my last cent on hard drives so I own it on a hard drive. I buy 100 packs on ebay for $30 copy them to puter then resell them. I bought 40 tv series on ebay for $13 copied them all resold the dvds. If I had an api I would have no reason to buy or copy anything but the greed continues.

Brands like Disney want to control the experience. Once they have their own apps there isn’t much of a reason for them to let other apps use their content. They’re able to get enough users on their own.

I setup my Emby account but when my friend tries to invite me to his server emby is not allowing him to saying my account is not verified. I never received a verification email from Emby during setup and I can see that my account is active because I am logged in and posting to the forums. Does anyone have a workaround for this?

Hard to believe in 2026 that these big million and billion dollar companies still waste money on clowns that can't build an app when all they need to do is sell api keys. If they sold api keys per month they would save millions & millions and gain billions. If I had a disney api to put in emby I would be happy as can be

DoingBobThings replied to DoingBobThings's topic in Linux
Just wanted to report back with results. I upgraded the plugin, but there was no change until I selected 'cinema mode' which was not activated. Once I ticked the selection box and restarted, everything was back to normal. Thanks for everyone's help!!! -

I have always been one who loves spending time reading reviews I find it interesting reading what people think of apps and what not. After using emby since day one I know what the clients want and what they don't want. Also I know that one thing may not please everyone and people will disagree with what others like it's just part of who we are. I do know that most on demand apps like hulu prime disney and loads of others especially directv are not the best when it comes to user experience like the sluggish load times the glitches and lagg and buffering all kinds of stuff. But, here's where it gets interesting, with all the big BIG companies why has none of them approached emby and suggested to use this emby platform as a one for all? Perhaps use an api from disney to load everything into an actual server that works without them spending millions on developers that make disney app bad. I just always found this interesting a server & client like emby that has been around way longer than any of the on demand apps with a fantastic reputation why has none of them approached emby asking if they will support an api for there clients to use emby? Instead of spending millions on crap coded disney app they only need to allow an api for us to run it on emby. A company like disney would save so much money and make even more money by letting people use an app that runs smooth as butter I just don't get it. Most people don't pirate content because of the cost they do it because pirated apps run better, emby is not a pirated app but it runs pirated content better than and other paid app on the market. People want stability something that works good feels good looks good its all right in front of there noses it's called EMBY MEDIA CENTER. Some companies took a gamble on plex and look how bad that turned out, no one can code at plex community and they ban users who ask for help or complain, wtf .. Who wants to be with a company like that, not me. So I was just reading comments on a big company app and loads of people saying it freezes it won't play it refuses to let them watch where they left off if at all. Why do big companies keep paying for loser coders that can't code when we have emby that works and yes the coders can code. Networks need to wake up and listen to customer base or they will tank and bankrupt.
