Hi all, I've been building a Emby Theater client for Linux, and v4.0.0 is now available. It's a ground-up rewrite of the Theater lineage (the old Electron app ended at 3.0.21) — this one is built on Tauri + WebKitGTK, so there's no bundled Chromium: ~2.6 MB packages and a fraction of the memory footprint. A darkened mask over the background image is shown in one and not the other. It would seem that style display is handled differently between the two setups. This can vary per TV app, possibly even per TV. Web browser Emby can be adjusted to remove masks, using a custom css. All other TV apps versions have style built inside the code and in my understanding, cannot be adjusted by users. The dark mask style was popular to allow any text and buttons to be easily read. This was probably a requested feature at some point. I like having full color in the background, but I also don't mind having food mixed on my dinner plate. Ha! You can control masks with the web app but there are many built in for the base Emby styles and removing them is complex. With Web Emby, you may want to look into the custom .css channel for user created themes that don't have the darken masks. https://emby.media/community/forum/144-web-app-css/ WIth TV Apps, you have to wait for updates to see if it changes or an option to remove masks is offered.

I get this too using the Emby Beta client on Cachy OS, using KDE as my desktop (possible common element?) I've had this issue for pretty much since the start of the beta I think, although it seems to be quite intermittent. Last week however it seemed to be almost every time I opened the app. I ended up clearing a few of the caches out and it seemed like I had sorted the issue, until today. I cleared out the loose files in .config/Emby-Beta/Cache/Cache_Data but I have no clue if that actually helped. I've no clue how it happens, it seems the app simply forgets any authentication token/login details, and asks you to sign in again as if it was the first time using it. I'm using version 2.322.0-1 of the beta. Would there even be any cache folders that would be best to clear to 'reset' the app? Or would it be best to simply uninstall the client app (using the universal installer script) and then remove all folders relating to it and then reinstall? Edit - just to add, I'm also able to reboot and then the Emby client opens using my auth token with no issues. So perhaps it's related to the specific plasma session when I first get the bug?

Symptoms since the last emby app update to include the beta: fast forward and rewind sluggish/slow for the app to get there when before near instantaneous. the color of the video often darkens. the subtitles are hollow almost unreadable. this problem is only with truehd7.1, not any other audio codec; therefore, I have a functioning emby app. I have nvidia shield, updated and the app is emby android tv. NOTE: something that should help the developers: now running qnap quts hero h6.0.2.3591 published 08-24, beta. long story as I do not normally do beta for os. I mostly watch these on Roku so I'll focus on that. I did check the other apps and it looks like this was turned on by default, but I'm not concerned with that for now. So you're saying the trigger can be the chapter marker of "EndCredits". I'll look into this and see if this can make it work for shorter videos. Thanks

I cannot see the option download management since I'm not connected to the server. I can only try to connect to the server or go directly to the downloaded content section, which doesn't have any options beside the delete button

Hi. You cannot "Delete" the content if not connected to the server because that is where the original is. If you are actually wanting to just remove the download, then go to download management and select "Remove from downloads".

the email address and password for my new emby account doesn't seem to work. I tried to reset my password but got a error message that my account is locked. Any help out there?

I've been meaning to take a look at Tracearr for a while now so seeing this thread was a good excuse. Spun a container up last night. Apart from the initial sync putting quite a bit of load on my synology it seems to be working fine now. And I realised I didn't have the playback reporting plugin installed in Emby. Doh.

Wanted to check in with you and see how this went? I really thought this application would take off like wildfire, but I have heard nothing from anyone yet. I would appreciate any feedback.
