Thanks! With the new version 4.9.5.0, I can now delete users successfully, so that issue is resolved. However, I still cannot create new users using Emby Connect. I get this error: “Error adding Emby Connect account. Have you already created an Emby account? Register at https://emby.media/connect.” So the problem is now only with adding/creating users through Emby Connect. Any idea what could be causing this issue or what I should check?

Hi, that’s some interesting ideas that you have suggested! I also have a largish music library (not Classical though) and have been using Emby, for a few years now, to manage it. Mostly Artist/Albums based Collections, more so than Song Playlists. Presently, I have 900+ Collections, the vast majority being “Related Artists” groupings. I agree with your point 1. It would be nice to have this separation. If you use the web client app via a browser, then there are some CSS workarounds to manually hide (e.g.) selected Playlists from the Included In row. To separate Collections and Playlists into two rows, via a workaround, is more difficult (I have tried – but have not succeeded - yet). All your other points, I can understand where you are coming from, but a lot is possibly dependent upon how you are organizing to suit your preferences – so I can see possible pros and cons for the other points… everyone curates differently, I expect? I’m not going to suggest how you should organize, but here’s some general suggestions that may be useful, if you haven’t tried them already: Creative combinations of Collections and Playlists PLUS Tags and Genres. Creative use of embedded metadata to import into the fields that Emby accepts. Use of smart playlists plugins (native Emby is coming) Use of Coverart and/or various badge plugins (I don’t use these myself) Use emojis and symbols in text strings to differentiate, group and display required info Use photo libraries for cross-referencing music collections (one of my current projects) All the above points are mostly non-technical. All the below points mostly require web app, with varying degrees of difficultly: Explore various plugins and other tools developed by community members Use custom CSS within Emby (community members, and even AI, can be helpful) Use custom JavaScript, perhaps via browser extensions Create your own plugin (I haven’t advanced this far myself) With the above (and more) Emby has a lot of flexibility. Just depends how far you want to go with it for yourself… Cheers!

Sorry for the late reply! So the album artist is indeed tagged differently, however the MusicBrainz ID is the same as can be seen in the following example: While this is correct that files have a different Album Artist, i think in the case of an Artist using an "Alias" in the sense of a different "style" of writing their name (or even making a typo) this should be linked to the same artist based on the MusicBrainz ID - so i guess the MusicBrainz ID should take precedence over the pure Album Artist string, as in my opinion the Music Brainz ID is a clear identifier where as the Album Artist string is but a loose convention. Ideally emby server would treat those discrepancies between the tagged MusicBrainz Artist ID and the Album Artist string contents just like MusicBrainz and other Services do: Whenever there is an anchor or navigation-link, the link itself should refer to the MusicBrainz ID but the link text should be based on the Album Artist string. That way, if Album Artist is different but the ID is same, it is an Alias. If the ID is different, this is intentionally a different artist. If there is no ID, the Album Artist should be treated as the identifier (first match). Since MusicBrainz seems to be the default datasource encouraging the user to use and also contribute to the database, i think this would be a good default change. Otherwise i think i could simply "script" my Picard to overwrite the Album Artist content with the actual name fetched with the MusicBrainz Artist ID, but then i would lose the information that this Album was released with an Alias. Is this something that emby could integrate?

Understood, and thanks for the correction. One thing worth putting on the table before you close it. The extra images wouldn't be one per card — only one per badged episode. For my plugin that's the season premiere and the season finale, so a show with twelve upcoming entries needs one extra image, not twelve; every other entry could keep the shared series thumbnail it uses today. So a shape that might avoid the cost you're describing: an enhancer declares it may vary by episode, and the server emits a per-episode URL only for the entries that enhancer marks. Servers without such a plugin are untouched — same single request, same cache — and with one, the growth is bounded by how many episodes actually get a badge. If the answer is still no, that's genuinely fine and I'll stop asking. Thanks for considering it at all.

I updated my comment to read We could pass episode numbers on the image url of the series thumb, which could flow through to image enhancers, but that's going to result in individual image requests vs one, and would blow up the size of image caches on both clients and server. So we could do that but there are strong reasons why we should not.

Sorry, I just got that wrong. I would go though looking for duplicates to remove, but I actually removed them using Windows. I did work my way through movies and edit images though, and that did trigger it.

Emby Server Login and Loading Issues Based on reports from several of my users, they have been experiencing issues when accessing my Emby Server. The symptoms are quite inconsistent, including: The login process sometimes works, but sometimes fails. After successfully logging in, users are sometimes unexpectedly logged out. It seems as if access to the server is being restricted, even though the user has already logged in successfully. When trying to play a video, playback sometimes gets stuck on the loading screen and never starts. When opening certain menus or genres, the page also gets stuck loading without displaying any content. Initially, I suspected that the issue might be related to the connection or the VPS I am using. However, when I tried to restart Emby through the API using localhost, the request was rejected with a message indicating that the server was busy. Based on this behavior, I suspect the issue might be on the Emby Server side, perhaps due to some internal process being overloaded or some mechanism that limits or queues requests when the server is handling too many processes simultaneously. Has anyone experienced similar issues? I'm sorry, Luke, but I wasn't able to provide the logs because I forgot to collect them at the time. I have currently reverted back to Emby 4.9.5.

Are the image requests different? It is getting the pixel ratio from a different place now when calculating the requested image size.
