Here are some logs from last night when I had the issue occurring. It started occurring around 2026-08-16 00:34:00m until about 2026-08-16 00:42:00. at which time I gave up. Let me know if you need anything else. ffmpeg-transcode-a99aea07-415c-4bcf-916f-31e098acc7b3_1.txt embyserver.txt -

We currently utilize Series thumb if episode thumb not present. And as no naming convention, it can't be automated, just manually assigned. Trying to change that.
-
Well, can we implement one (<episodefilename>-landscape.ext seems like a natural choice, moreso as it does get saved as landscape.ext in server metadata folder)? It can be assigned and it is used if present (takes priority over Series thumb) - and there are few new plugins that make use of it.
-
Fix what? did you try the suggestion from the user above?

Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
-
Hi, it's possible you might have to plug it in and/or the battery has to be pretty well charged. Please try those things and see if it helps.
-
I think we consider the thumb of an episode to be that of its parent Series. I've never heard of an episode have a bespoke thumb image...
-
There currently isn't a naming convention for that, and so that's why it goes into the metadata folder.
-
Hm, possibly version mismatch/wrong dll, maybe this latest version should be 1.3.6.0, as you already had 1.3.5.0. last week?

How to name episode thumb (landscape) so it gets picked up as thumb-type image instead of primary-type one? Tried with "-landscape.ext" but that one gets completely ignored. In addition, why does manually assigned thumb-type image get saved only in server metadata folder when it is explicitly opted-in to save artwork in media folders/next to media? Thanks

Bug Report: Playback speed issues on iPad with external monitor & multitasking
Jack998 posted a topic in Apple iOS / macOS
Hi Emby team, I'm experiencing playback issues on the iPad app when using an external monitor combined with multitasking. The Issue: I've encountered an issue with the playback speed feature on the iPad app. Whenever I pause the video or switch to another app (multitasking/background), the playback speed fails or resets, and I lose the custom speed setting. Environment / Device Info: - Device: ipad air M2 - OS: ipadOS 26.6 - Emby App Version: latest Thanks! - Today

New version (v2.7.0.5) available in the catalog. Added: 1) Support for locally installed Tesseract OCR, a locally installed Tesseract does not require docker. 2) Ability to run multiple PaddleOCR sessions at once, this way you can run detections on multiple files at once with PaddleOCR. Please note: This requires a powerful and/or dedicated computer to not create bottlenecks. 3) Improved chromaprint detection slightly. 4) Added TesseractOCR/PaddleOCR readiness indicator. Bug fixes: 1) Episode comparison when running chromaprint detection would compare episodes against them self. 2) Clean up would in rare cases fail to clean up causing a small memory leak. 3) Every 200th frame would be discarded and not be run through detection. 4) Other fixes and optimizations not noticeable to users. 5) Strm files are now automatically skipped (Thank you Serph91P on Github). -
Thanks for that I'm blind. THANKS!!

Please fix it, I know you can.

Then you need a firewall to block, who you don't want to have access. If they are going in directly to your ip then CF can't help you.
-
Right, I want the domain to still work, obviously.
-
Yes, turn of port forwarding. But then you can't do remote sessions. Unless you setup a VPN or the like.
-
As I said to @pwhodges, is the Synology OS going to see attacks on Emby? Is there a way to block direct connections to my IP? I was under the impression that the CF/NGINX setup I followed was supposed to do that.
-
CF should not be you only security. That might not be tight enough. Hence your own firewall that can take the blows.
