    Shaefurr's Disparity Icons

The genre images look very nice. Unfortunately Emby doesn't seem to be able to show them in the right format 16:9. I am getting black bars up and down on all clients. @ebrany chance adjusting that?
  3. TV Show Status 2.5.21.0 — What's Changed Covering 2.5.18.0 → 2.5.21.0. Fixed The badge survives an Emby update. An update wipes Emby's web folder, taking the badge script and its <script> tag with it. The badge used to stay gone until you restarted Emby. The plugin now re-checks and puts both back on its own. Recovery is faster. The check normally runs every 5 minutes, but drops to every 20 seconds the moment it finds the badge missing, and returns to 5 minutes once restored. It backs off after about 5 minutes of failed attempts, so a permission problem nobody has fixed doesn't become a permanent retry loop. Opening the settings page forces an immediate check, instead of showing the result of the last startup. Failed retries no longer fill the log with errors. The first failure is logged once, retries are silent, and recovery logs a single line saying how many attempts it took. macOS instructions pointed at a folder that never existed — a path inside Server.app, when the bundle is EmbyServer.app. Linux had no instructions at all. Anyone not on Windows or macOS was assumed to be on Docker and handed a docker exec command, which is no use on a .deb or .rpm install. Changed Paths are no longer hardcoded. The plugin prints the path it resolved at runtime, so the instructions are correct on every platform and every install layout. Docker is detected, via /.dockerenv, rather than assumed for anything that isn't Windows or macOS. The permission message is a one-off setup step, not something to repeat after every update. The recommended cron interval is now every minute, not every five. Measured at about 75 ms per run — 0.125% of one core. Measured On a real update to 4.10.0.27, from the server log: ┏━━━━━━━━━━┳━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ ┃ Time ┃ Event ┃ ┣━━━━━━━━━━╋━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┫ ┃ 10:15:29 ┃ Emby starts after the update ┃ ┣━━━━━━━━━━╋━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┫ ┃ 10:15:30 ┃ First deploy attempt - permission denied ┃ ┣━━━━━━━━━━╋━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┫ ┃ 10:20:00 ┃ Cron repairs the folder ownership ┃ ┣━━━━━━━━━━╋━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┫ ┃ 10:20:40 ┃ Badge restored ┃ ┗━━━━━━━━━━┻━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ 5 minutes 11 seconds unattended, of which the plugin accounted for 40 seconds. With cron at every minute this should fall to roughly two minutes — a projection from the figures above, not a second timed update. If you're upgrading Copy the DLL in, restart Emby, and check the settings page. Docker users should change their cron line from every five minutes to every minute — same command otherwise: * * * * * docker exec -u root <container> chown -R 1000:1000 /system/dashboard-ui Platform notes This plugin runs on NAS/Docker, Linux, Windows and macOS. Every path it uses is resolved from Emby itself, so there's nothing platform-specific to install. Docker is the only one needing the cron line, and only because Docker resets folder ownership on every image update. The badge remains web browser client only. It can't be shown on the native apps — Emby's own team confirmed no client requests enhanced images and there's no server-side override. "Prepend status to show description" works on every client, including Android and tvOS. EmbyTVShowStatus.dll

New Emby for Android 3.5.45 Released

@Luke I think the new server 4.10.0.27 and app 3.5.47 only made things worse. It used to show the splash screen and then a quick flash of the connection screen (which was unreadable because it was so fast) and then the home screen. It was a real quick. Now I see the splash screen a spinning circle shows up and the connection screen is visible for a short period of time before I get the home screen. The whole process is slower. It's looks like it's not even trying to connect before the connection screen pops up. What it looks like to me is that there was time added AFTER the connection screen pops up and then it connects. What I was hoping for is that it would try to connect and then ONLY IF it didn't connect in X seconds the pop up would be displayed.

"Hola. Para aclarar bien el problema: mi papá es el dueño del servidor (instalado en su celular), pero no le deja acceder a servidores (le sale que no hay). Si intenta poner la dirección o el número, le marca el mismo error de que no se pudo conectar. El está en EE. UU. y no sabe mucho de tecnologia, yo lo ayudo a distancia. ¿Qué puede hacer el dueño de un servidor móvil cuando la app de Emby de repente ya no detecta ni deja entrar a su propio servidor interno

    immich plugin

I want to have another entry in the left pane… something like Movies/Series/TV/Immich-Photos. Since I have multiple users in Emby, I need a way to set the immich-api-token per user. If not set, it should be disabled. The plugin should provide typical photo-viewer functionality: show albums/Photos, etc. I‘m just got stuck on the „per-user“ problems

    Ipad app Cant Open!

That sounds really frustrating. Before reinstalling, I’d first check that the app supports your iPadOS version and that you’re running the latest release. I had a similar problem before, and checking the DixMax troubleshooting guide helped me identify the cause much quicker.

  16. Sorry for the late response. I'm not seeing this. It should not count your own sessions. Can you please create a video doing the same what I'm doing? (for gettting the "User Sessions" entry, you need to install the Diagnostics plugin) 20260822-1004-00.4473301.mp4

    Looking for a code review

That's not a surprise. Plugins need to be self-contained. They cannot have any references of their own, because it's solely the plugin dll's code which is loaded into the Emby Server process, so whatever SQLite libraries you have (presumably) added to your plugin as nuget packages won't be looaded. Emby Server uses SQLite itself, but through customized libraries. Some of your code's references may get redirected to Emby's customized implementation which have different behavior than the ones you are probably developing against. This would exactly create something like "weird failures".

  21. Hi Luke, Thanks for your response. The isomounter simply won't work if the iso is from http cdn via a strm file, in this case embedded ffmpeg won't be able to recoganize streams.
  22. I wish Emby would support this natively, Plex and Jellyfin both do and I'm considering switching for it. Tried to make Plezy work but before I even tried watch together I found it unusable as it bypasses Emby bitrate caps. I've known about Emby Watch Party (EWP) but never tried it as I was looking for a solution which works with apps e.g. Plezy or ideally native Emby. Before going to Jellyfin I though I would try EWP, it's a great project with obviously a lot of hurtles when your building around an existing platform. I did run into the same issue in that it overrides Emby streaming bitrate caps, I'm starting to see this is more an issue with Emby's implementation. How I assume Emby's system works is via the native apps and browser. When a user starts a stream the client has settings controlling the bitrate. If there's a setting on the server for the user or global then it caps at this bitrate, this is different to Plex and I think Jellyfin. Instead of the client controlling it the server does and the quality is downgraded as stream is created, this allows for any client to be limited the same. Both Plezy and EWP can have quality set to whatever the user wants, regardless of their profile cap limit. At first I thought it was how the relay works, since it's streaming Emby -> EWP -> clients and therefore tricking Emby into thinking all streams are local. So I manually override the local networks to have it treat the subnet as remote and it behaved the same. On a side note, I did find what appears to be a bug with the quality options. It defaults to 10 Mbps, which is annoying in itself as you can't have auto as default, if you select any other quality (higher or lower) it will never let you stay paused. Example, set quality to 15 or 8 and when you pause the video it starts playing after a few seconds. This happens even if there's only 1 party in the stream and can happen for any member of the stream. You cannot select 10 Mbps and it fixes, but you can refresh the page and it will then allow pausing providing you do not change the quality again. This is a great project, really hope Emby adds native support; maybe from this as its base. It's unfortunate that Jellyfin who was once behind is now out in front of Emby in many ways; Plex having fell of the cliff years ago.
