I’ve switched to Emby fully now and loving how fast it is! One thing I miss from my old client is allowing text subtitles to move into the black bar below the video (when video aspect ratio forces black bars above & below). By default, exoplayer’s SubtitleView restricts text over the video frame only! Many video players override this to allow fully customisable subtitles position on the entire screen instead of just the video! There’s already a request to implement this upstream in exoplayer: https://github.com/androidx/media/issues/2977 There are also links to how it was implemented in other clients. Thanks for reading! You can now ignore this, as its all of a sudden just started working after hours of trying to figure out what happened. I am not able to answer what caused the issue unfortunately but greatful its working again

I seem to be having an issue with the Emby app for Android TV. As of last night, everything was working fine but today it cant connect at all. Nothing has changed in my router/network settings, nor on my computer that runs the emby server. I can access my emby server via browser on other devices, I can also access emby on my phones android app, but I can no longer access it via the andorid TV app anymore as it says it cannot find it. Things I have done/checked: Server IP - no change Server port - no change Firewall rules are present and correct in antivirus/windows I've cleard the Android TV app data and cache, no difference Checked port forwarding rules on router - present and correct My server IP is still static and the same IP it was Restarted router, android tv box and server pc multiple times - no change Checked my windows network profile, its set to private and sharing etc is enabled (as per your connection help docs) I'm at a loss as to whats going on. I cannot figure out why its just suddenly stopped working on this one device. Andorid TV app info: Version 3.5.36, com.mb.android

Errr, so I found this thread after I had already set up the container. But I had customised it and I straight up deleted all 3 keys. Emby is working fine for me without any of these variables. So....yea lol.

Ignore that, it was just the plugin had updated more than I had rebooted!

After I installed the iso mouse plugin, the media info was displayed when playing iso for the first time using the Windows client, and I could use pgssub subtitles. This feature is great and I really like and need it. However, bdmv still cannot display media info and playback. I tried to remove the Bluray Folder Support plugin version 1.0.5.0 and reinstall version 1.0.2.0, which is the version I am currently using normally. Maybe due to compatibility issues, the installation may still display version 1.0.5.0 after completion. At the same time, it is still unable to recognize bdmv media info and playback.In addition I also tried removing the indentification and refreshing the metadata or indentify, but nothing changed.

still hasn't updated. not sure what's wrong with this or how to fix. just forced a manual rescan of folder and it added them. so just leaved my to believe even though rtm is saying its scanning folder it really doesnt.

just adding new movies and tv shows library, it's a new emby setup. after it's done i try to refresh metadata on tv shows library and the crew tmdb id still not there.

Yes it's running, like I said I can still access it directly via MyCloud and through Plex. I don't use a dynamic IP on the server. It's only Emby that says it's unable to connect.

Are you sure the server is running? Does your server machine ip address change regularly?

It seems to be working a lot more consistent now but maybe 1 of 15 times it will just go silent after you ask it to play the next song, and the only way to get it to play again is changing it to Amazon music and then switching back. Also, is there a way it can let you know if it reached the end of the playlist when you ask it to play next song? It was something Plex plugin had that was pretty nice. As alway appreciate your hard work hatharry!

Forgive my ignorance but, how do I do that when I can't connect to the server?

as of now its been almost an hour sense log said it was being refreshed but they are still not updated / available to watch.

to have the new episode shown in emby so i can watch it.

what update were you expecting?

the fact that it never updates the shows in library. i run plex and emby. plex will show new shows added in about 1-3 minutes if not instant. emby is always hours. dont think its ever updated the show in under 4-5 hours. 2026-08-06 05:19:32.624 Info LibraryMonitor: Season 5 (/data/media/anime/Battle Through The Heavens (2017) [tvdb-337284]/Season 05) will be refreshed. i did see this that it said its refreshing but never updates.

anyone mind helping me figure out why rmt doesnt work. for reference it has never worked. 4+ years lol. but im using emby more and its very annoying as it can take up to a day to update newly added items. have searched but found no info on what to look for. most rmt threads only have ppl asking for logs but never say what they are looking for. here is my latest logs as i just added a few new shows.embyserver.txt no network drives all are local.

Honestly & "sadly", since I switched to Shield Pro, I don't have ANY problem anymore. The difference is real. But it's another device to buy... (this is the sad part - I could get a second hand with a reasonable price)
