Right now tapping a playlist in CarPlay plays it in its own order — but it does respect the shuffle mode: if you turn shuffle on (either the car's own shuffle button or the one on the Now Playing screen), the next playlist you tap will start shuffled. What we don't do yet is remember that setting between app launches, or offer a direct "Shuffle" entry next to a playlist in the CarPlay list the way the phone does. Both are on the list for a future release.

I don't know but I'd never want to put that in our UI... What are users supposed to do with a menu option called "Custom1"? The store is running the same app you are.

Hi Luke, I’m back again. Sorry to bother you. I found that Emby Server 4.10.0.23 may have introduced a regression issue with Intel GPU hardware acceleration detection. My environment: Emby Server: Windows 10 x64 CPU: Intel Core i5-1240P GPU: Intel Alder Lake-P Iris Xe Graphics Virtualization platform: Proxmox VE (PVE) GPU: Intel Iris Xe Graphics PCI Passthrough (VFIO) Intel Graphics Driver: 32.0.101.7088 Under the same hardware, the same Windows environment, and the same PVE configuration, I tested multiple Emby versions. Test results: Emby Version Intel GPU Hardware Acceleration 4.9.0.54 - 4.10.0.22 Detected and working normally 4.10.0.23 Not detected After upgrading to Emby 4.10.0.23: The hardware acceleration option in Emby Transcoding settings becomes empty; Intel Quick Sync and DX11VA is no longer displayed; No hardware encoders such as h264_qsv / hevc_qsv are detected. After rolling back to Emby 4.10.0.22, without changing any configuration: Intel Iris Xe Graphics is detected normally; QSV and DX11VA works again. Therefore, I believe this is a hardware acceleration detection regression introduced in version 4.10.0.23. Additional information: Windows itself is working normally: Intel Iris Xe Graphics is correctly recognized in Device Manager; GPU is visible in Task Manager; Intel graphics driver is installed correctly; Other GPU-dependent functions work normally. Since my setup uses Intel integrated GPU PCI passthrough, it may behave differently from a normal physical machine environment. I have provided: Hardware detection logs from Emby 4.10.0.22; Hardware detection logs from Emby 4.10.0.23. I hope this information can help locate the issue. Thank you, @Luke. Server log sent via PM. The AppleTV app crashed at 2026-08-09 11:05. When the crash occurs, the Emby app closes and I'm returned to the AppleTV UI without any error or message being displayed. As previously mentioned, right after the crash, I can go back in and watch the content without issue.

No everything works fine without hardware transcoding. Also it worked fine before yesterday

I've passed the info on to our build and packaging developer for review. They have made similar fixes in the past in silent fashion so it wouldn't be the first time.

So, I honestly have no idea what TerraMaster changed there, but I installed Emby 4.10.0.23 beta from the Emby website, changed that line (by the way, I left the space there exactly as it was), and all my libraries, users, and settings came back. Now I’m not even sure what to do next Should I keep experimenting, uninstall the beta and try the version from the TOS Store again? Or maybe install the stable version from the Emby website instead? Or should I just leave it alone and stay on the beta since everything is working perfectly now and I’m happy with it?

In this example, I’d change it from 60 seconds to 0/off — no automatic retry. My code is already holding or recovering the session, so another tuner handshake from Emby isn’t needed. The current 60-second behavior can stay as the default — I’d just like the option to disable it, choose a different interval, and ideally limit the retry count to 2 or 3 instead of 11.

and if you disable hardware transcoding in server transcoding settings, does it happen then?

What version number of the app do you have now?

It crashes before the transcoding can even start. The ffmpeg file gets created in the logs, however it just says "no items found" I recreated the error cause I was confused which logs contained any transcoding activity, this one should. embyserver-63921990415.txt

Sorry for delay. I mean every time I try to open the emby app. Tried reinstall the app, restart the iPad, close all the app and open again, everything dozens of times and on both my iPad air first edition. Nothing works.

It seems to be TerraMaster don't believe this needs to be fixed on their end and instead it is up to Emby devs to fix @Luke
