Folder images missing in Emby Theater (3.0.20/21 Legacy)
scottpro replied to scottpro's topic in Windows & Xbox
Interesting update, 4.9.5.24 to 26.0.0. Is that the new app-version numbering or was it suppose to 4.9.5.26? The "Folders" images are now displaying but I think the gray background card is including the text. Is this the new look by design? Here is the original look. -
Hi, yes this is tricky but because it scrolls horizontally, that's why it is a 2x2 instead of 4x1.

SuperCitizenEmb started following 2 home screen bugs / needs improvement
-
1. On the Android TV and Universal Android app, UX is forcing "My Media" as a stacked 2x2 instead of a much more efficient 4x1 grid. This is wasting vertical space. It doesn't do it in my Emby web app only because i have a 34" ultra wide and if i make window super wide then finally it allows is to be 4x1. TLDR: the My Media cards are too aggressively resisting 4x1 grid display 2. The new Emby ' spotlight home screen section' feature looks awesome - truly well done guys. Except that on the Emby Android TV app, the spotlight looks great (aspect ratio allows much more vertical pixels) but on the Universal app, the spotlight section is much shorter with much less vertical pixels causing the spotlight to look way too stretched and creates weird crops like an ultra wide of a guys legs because the torso and head is missing for example. Naveb12 replied to Naveb12's topic in Android TV / Fire TV
Hello again . So managed to connect through my phone app . But through the android TV . browser , not working a showing invalid password / username . but my phone app logging out logging in no issues -
It would just be normal episode naming but then you'd add pt1 to the end of it.

Moonfin, a new cross platform client
SuperCitizenEmb replied to bingbong69_'s topic in Third Party Apps
@Neminem just to play Devil's advocate, your concerns are valid, but the app is open source on GitHub. You could copy it, open it in VSCode and ask Claude Opus 4.8 to check for anything you're concerned about. The project has over 50+ contributors so far which is also not trivial. -
Conroy started following Plugin: Best Episodes – Highest-rated episode playlists by season
-
Hi everyone, I have created Best Episodes, a free Emby Server plugin that creates a playlist for each TV season containing its highest community-rated episodes first. The idea came from wanting to revisit only the standout episodes of long-running factual, documentary and reality series without changing their normal episode order or metadata. Features Select one or multiple series directly from a dropdown populated from your Emby library. Optionally process every TV series visible to the playlist owner. Create a separate highest-rated playlist for each season. Choose the top 5, top 10, top 20 or all eligible episodes. Set a minimum community rating. Optionally include unrated episodes and specials. Optionally exclude episodes already watched by the playlist owner. Refresh manually, daily or automatically after an Emby library scan. Access the generated playlists through Emby Web, television, mobile, Roku and Fire TV clients. The plugin only reads library metadata and watched state. It does not modify episodes, seasons, ratings, watched state or the normal series order. It only creates and updates playlists bearing its configured naming prefix. Current beta Version: 0.2.0 Built against: Emby Server SDK 4.9.1.90 Confirmed platform: Emby Server 4.9.5.0 running natively on Windows Source code and releases: https://github.com/Conroy1988/Emby-Best-Episodes Installation Stop Emby Server. Copy Emby.BestEpisodes.dll into the Emby Server programdata/plugins folder. Start Emby Server. Open Dashboard > Plugins > Best Episodes. Select one or more series and save. Open Scheduled Tasks and run Refresh best-rated episode playlists once. Open Playlists to see the generated season playlists. On a standard native Windows installation, the plugin directory is usually: %AppData%\Emby-Server\programdata\plugins\ Testing requested I would particularly appreciate testing on: Linux and Docker installations NAS installations Large television libraries Libraries containing duplicate series names Different Emby clients and television applications When reporting a problem, please include your Emby Server version, operating system and any relevant entries from the Emby Server log. The beta DLL is attached below. Thank you for testing it. Emby.BestEpisodes.dll Emby.BestEpisodes-v0.2.0.zip

Plugin: Ginjaninja Tools - Sync Channel - Radarr & Sonarr & Any Rest Api Channel Sync Tool
ginjaninja replied to ginjaninja's topic in Plugins
0.0.0.16 Overhaul of UI Engine, more robust navigation behaviour. Overhaul of the Schema Endpoint Design. Improved presentation for Schema Endpoint design esp. for custom syncs of multi tiered channel items (eg Artist>Album>Track). (still a massive UI, will need to simplify somehow) Addition of array slicing function to find eg "coverType=poster" in array of images. Improve hover info w.r.t text and images to aid field mapping. Improved save and discard and dirty tracking. Realised the extent to which i dont understand the channel item ecosystem, so still a work in progress for custom syncs. I have successfully synced Photos, Audio Items (As Artist>Album>Track) but still a "technical demo" @sh0rtyhave you had a go at the radarr and sonarr syncing, is that what you had in mind? -

Suddenly: Missing Movie Poster on Synology NAS
Luke replied to Sturmkater's topic in Linux & Raspberry Pi
Hi, do your files randomly go offline? -
UPDATE. This evening I moved a 3 Gb file from the Seagate HDD onto the iMac desktop thus eliminating the Seagate and it's USB connection from the issue. The stream played from the iMac for approximately 1 hour 38 mins before buffering at approx 20:18 local time. In this instance I immediately rewound the stream for 10 seconds and playback continued uninterrupted. embyserver 24 Aug.txt

Feature Request: HEVC (H.265) Transcoding
franta.hanak replied to franta.hanak's topic in Apple iOS / macOS
I’m aware of the server transcoding setting, but I would really appreciate having this option available in the mobile app as well. When using the browser/PWA, I lose features such as proper audio support and picture-in-picture, which makes it less practical as a daily solution. Thanks for the clarification and for considering it. -
Hi, in server transcoding settings you can enable this. It is currently limited to the web app and android.

franta.hanak started following Feature Request: HEVC (H.265) Transcoding
-
I’d love to see an option to transcode video to HEVC (H.265) instead of only H.264. Modern web browsers can already play HEVC streams without any issues, but the mobile app always transcodes to H.264 when transcoding is required. HEVC would provide much better quality at the same bitrate or significantly reduce bandwidth usage, which is especially useful when streaming over mobile data. I’d also like to mention that playing HDR Dolby Vision content via Direct Play causes the device to become very hot. I tested this on an iPhone 17 Pro. Transcoding to HEVC could reduce the device’s workload while keeping bandwidth usage low. Please consider adding an option to choose the preferred transcoding codec (H.264 or HEVC). I think many users would appreciate this feature. Thank you!
-
Hi, most devices will struggle to play vc1 if they don't have hardware decoding for it. If this is the case for yours then you can use the settings in the app to force transcoding for vc1.
-
Well, if you can share the naming format, I'll try it and report back!
-
When I play videos using the VC1 codec, the image stutters, as you can see in the attached video. My Emby Android version is 3.5.37. (This is the only version that Amazon Fire offers for installation.) Previously, with a different Android version (I don't know which one), VC1 videos played fine. Is there an Emby Android version that might fix this problem? VC1 Video.mp4

Halliphax started following Backdrop Slideshow Duration Options
-
Hopefully relatively trivial to implement… I’ve configured ten backdrops to download for every TV and Movie in my library settings (variety is the spice of life and all that) but they’re rarely seen because it takes so long for backdrops to cycle when viewing an item. Ideally, this should be configurable in the library settings (or app settings?) so you can decide how often Emby will cycle through them i.e every 3, 5 or 10 seconds.

When will the user modifiable option for the audio bitrate be available? I will be so excited to have this feature!

Merge all movie folders into a single library
pwhodges replied to sven901's topic in General/Windows
I'm not aware of any specific way to transfer data. In Emby, if you select the options (not default) to store metadata and images alongside the media, a new Emby install can pick them up, but without nfo and image files it will always go out to the metadata providers. Maybe if Plex can arrange its metadata that way you might get somewhere? Note that as Plex and Emby are differently coded, not all media filename formats recognised by one will necessarily be parsed correctly by the other. If your filenames fall outside Emby's specifications, the results may not be so good, even if Plex happens to handle them. https://emby.media/support/articles/Movie-Naming.html https://emby.media/support/articles/TV-Naming.html Paul -
Definitely my number 1 feature request for Emby! In particular the Xtream Tuner Plugin that @grizlyadams mentioned has greatly improved the live TV experience, and adding catchup would be an excellent further improvement.
