as a matter of fact, yes... I think I found the cause. It was NordVPN, which I use on my Synology. Somehow the certificates for the ovpn connections to NordVPN expired and my kill switch cut all communication when this happened. I had to replace the ovpn files with new ones to refresh the certificates and like magic it worked. I have used this VPN for many years, never had a certificate expire before, but I guess there's a first for everything. Thanks a lot @Luke, I'll leave the topic here to help anyone who might go though the same situation.

Hi, the server’s requests to these domains are timing out and failing. Typical causes are firewall, security software or vpn . Can you look into those and let us know what you find?

Can you get some new entries to show up? Are they off as well? If yes, then try a different browser or look at browser data and time zone settings. If no then the issue is limited to peat events, likely meaning the system clock changed at some point.

I think it’s valid request to be able to grant permission to more features without requiring admin.

Hmm so this will force me to lock all my media to no have a random family member / close friend to mess it up. For me that would force me to manually run through my. 2000+ movies 400+ tv shows All my music + music videos. Not to speak of my photos and home videos. And the lock them......

Over the past few days I noticed an odd behavior in my emby server, running on a Synology unit: The "Upcoming" tab (showing the upcoming episodes and dates for my tv shows) and all automatic scraping has stopped working. No data of any kind is received and the screen just remains blank/empty. It used to work just fine until a few days ago and I didn't change any settings on either Emby Server or the Synology unit. I checked the logs and saw some entries that may or may not be related, but it does relate failure to authenticate with the TheTvDB/TMDB APIs, which would explain everything, but why? Since I have changed no settings at all I see no reason for it to stop working. Why would an admin be on top of locking things but not on top of updating things so all metadata is present?

This is the view from the server directly...time in lower right is the system time in ET and the alerts are showing PT.

That's upto the Admin to lock it if it's not to be changed, but this is mainly to be used when there is metadata missing.

Hi, I would check the time zone on both the server machine and the client machine.

The only way the errors got carried over would be by taking the entire database. You might also be able to come up with a database query to null out all images containing this, then you wouldn't need to visit the movie screens and you could just refresh metadata on the library.

This is what I did while moving to another server. It was a fresh install and the artwork errors were carried over.

Provide mediainfo from one that works and one that doesn't, it will be apparent if it has an HDR fallback - the profile tells the story.

You can restore just user data instead of the entire configuration.

It could also delete metadata, or incorrectly alter it, depending on the item and the metadata available.

So fallback is encoded in the mkv? It was a 43" TV in my bar so I just updated it to a Hisense TV that supports Dolby Vision. The 24" in the kitchen isn't worth the bother..

The time for updates and logs is showing incorrectly

Can you try restarting the tv?

You can also sign up for the beta through the store and not have to sideload. This will also provide automatic updates as they come.
