  2. Thank you for your time, and pointing me to that. Up until now i have not needed this, and hope i won't need it in the future either. Well, actually im alright with the absolute order from TheTVDB. For most series i own, this works acutally good. Sometimes they have screw-ups or made at least debatable decisions in their order, but I, just as everybody else, would have the option to register and help fix things there. But that was not was my post was about. It was about Emby (with mixed content library) identifying correctly named content incorrectly, as well as handling folders containing series like folders containing multiple movies, while giving no way to fix that other than trying to rename folders/episodes.
  3. @Luke, thanks! About to do that now, but want to be sure I'm performing the correct steps or test, is this correct: Open the album in Emby (not the artist and not an individual song, both of which also offer Refresh Metadata) Click the 3 dots to the right of the album image (options are: Play, Shuffle, Heart, and ...) Select "Refresh Metadata" Do NOT select "Replace existing images" because that will download from the Internet, which is what we're trying to avoid (or must I select that to get it to replace the images at all?) Is that all correct, especially #4 (very unsure what to select for #4)? And if that works, do I need to ALSO do each song afterwards or should redoing the album update all the songs on the album too (both album and songs show the same wrong images)? If it matters, note that the ONLY place I have stored the cover art is embedded in the individual song MP3 files as ID3 cover art. This does seem to have worked for all the other albums (it DEFINITELY worked for some, but it's possible some other are also wrong and I just never noticed).
  4. for the migration from Synology to proxmox i'd only like to keep statistics (when played. resume and that kind of stuff). (and then rebuild it from scratch) What is the best way to approach this? Is it still important afterwards that the correct library/folder structure and users are EXACTLY the same? I would like to keep the artwork and NFO file in the folder, so that wouldn't need to be collected again.

The recording retries every 60 seconds for about 10 minutes. The problem is that each attempt's SharedHttpPipelineSource is never closed. The live stream keeps being copied into transcoding-temp/<id>/ with no buffer limit. After one 18:30 recording I had 11 orphaned buffers (one per retry), each about 22 GB, still writing 11 hours later. They only stopped when the transcode SSD hit 100% (No space left on device). No recording file was produced. In each log, "Beginning SharedHttpPipelineSource" appears about 20 times but only about 7 of those streams are closed. Pattern across logs Version consumerId errors Recordings 4.11.0.4 0 OK (Oct 1, Oct 2) 4.11.0.5 33 per recording attempt window Failed (Oct 3, Oct 4) It may matter that a Roku client was watching another channel from the same M3U tuner when the timer fired, so the recording may be trying to join an existing shared stream with a null consumer ID. Two issues, really Recording fails with the null consumerId (looks like a regression in 4.11.0.5). When opening the stream fails, the already-started SharedHttpPipelineSource isn't disposed, so a failed recording can fill the transcode drive. Possibly related: https://emby.media/community/topic/150062-bug-live-tv-recording-stopped-early-when-a-remote-viewer-stopped-watching-the-same-channel/ (a recording registered with an empty consumer id on 4.10.0.40) and https://emby.media/community/topic/150036-live-tv-can-consume-hidden-tunersconnections-due-to-duplicate-recording-consumers/ (recording consumers never released, so upstream connections stay open). In 4.11.0.5 the same consumer-id path seems to throw instead, and the stream it opened is leaked. Workaround: pinned the container to emby/embyserver:4.11.0.4. Log excerpt attached (one full cycle including the stack trace). Happy to provide more logs. emby-4.11.0.5-recording-leak-log.txt

It would be best to limit the scope to a specific timeframe—for instance, simply refreshing the 30 most recently added media items. Additionally, there should be a button allowing administrators to manually clear old records and perform a full rebuild, or to rebuild specific media libraries; ideally, however, there should be no option to trigger a rebuild of *all* images.

  9. Not the same experience at all... There are a number of other Android boxes these days that should come close to the Shield. You might want to check out the Hardware forum.
  10. Have you tried the latest beta? If it still has the issue, can you please reproduce it and then follow the instructions to send a log from the app?

    Nested Collections

Absolutely agree, and I didn't mean to suggest that it was a full alternative; folders in this case are just a potential workaround to allow you to configure a nested navigation through your titles, provided you are ok with each title appearing only in a single location. But a nested Collection enhancement certainly would allow for cross-linking and other more complicated (and useful!) setups.

  13. Sounds to be like you want precise control over the media and how it is represented and it's play order. In my experience, the only way to do that is not to rely on scrapers. Emby does an excellent job scraping media info, but they are at the mercy of the metadata providers. The only way you are going to achieve exactly what you want is to switch to a NFO based library and/or using a media manager that can scrape anime shows. MediaElch just ended development so I can't recommend it anymore. It should still work for a while, but tinymediamanager (TMM) is still being developed and should be able to handle this. I personally do not like anime, so I have never used a scraper on it, but TMM has aniDB as a source, it might give you what you need. I use TMM and disable all scraping within Emby. It works pretty well, but you are responsible for double checking accuracy. TVDB and TMDB frequently get actors wrong and I am spending time correcting that. However, that is a lot less of a headache than trying to trick the scrapers into getting the order of things the way you want it.
  14. Good lord... $300 bucks for 8 year old hardware? That's insane. At that price I would just get a NUC.

How do I remove watched indicator?

While there has been a little discussion in this thread, the OP only has 2 likes. A feature request needs to have a lot more attention and requests for any serious time to be devoted to it. Me personally? I would not use this, but I don't believe that it should be difficult to have a toggle page for badges that the user can select which are to be used.

  17. So i was using Emby for a while now, and found i'd like to restucture my library. Previously i've had one general library for movies and one for series, but since i have many anime series and movies, that are less interesting for some family members, i have decided i would put all my anime in one combined library (mixed content) specifically for that. Unlike most conventional TV-Series animes like to have essential parts of their storys in movies. So for me all of a series goes into the same folder, as long as it's not separated in the TVDB. So with the library labled as TV-Series having it all together in one folder worked all more or less (when using absolute order). Now it seems to me, that the identification doesn't work correctly anymore, as soon as a movie is recognized (sometimes falsely) in a folder. So unlike before i can't tell the system anymore e.g. "mnt/Anime/Blood-C" is "249864" from TheTVDB. It was simply EP1, 2 ,3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, *some Random movie that a word and 10 in the title*, EP11, 12 and *the acual movie correctly recognized*. The solution here was fairly simple: I had to rename the Movie to S0E1 - *Title*... So that worked somehow. But now i'm struggling with the show Danmachi (TheTVDB Series ID 289882). Although that's the regular title around here (and a valid alias in TVDB), the autorecognition fails to recognize it as a series. But since it's no series it has to be a bunch of movies, right? Well, none a recognized. And i can't even identify the episodes as a series, because the system is expecting a movie ID. Sure, i could rename the folder to "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?" so it might me recognized correctly, but i don't want to. Here comes what i'd like to see: Simply allow to set for a folder what is expected to find there. Like Title:"Danmachi", Sorting Title: "Danmachi", Folder Content: "TV-Series"/"Movie"/"Structure Folder" So then depending on the setting you would get the according options and could do the identification work yourself. Example for false identification of a series folder as a movie folder if you care: The next thing is, that the auto identification is somehow acting stupid in many cases for me. For example i have the series "Dororo" in a folder with the same name. There are 2 versions of that anime one from 1969 and one from 2019. So as expected the system will identify that series as "El Dorado" (208401). What the actual f? Thats so far off of 2 exact matches for the first 6 letters/full string. Next example "Attack on Titan". Here it is somehow understandable but still wrong, as it gives back "Attack on Titan: Counter Rockets". So instead of a perfect match, the system prefered the longer title. I can only guess why (":" in title is preferd over ""). Simillar for "Made in Abyss": Identified as "Made in Abyss: Maruruk's Everday". "Gate" became "Steins;Gate" "Fire Force" became "Strike Force Five" I could add more, but i guess you got the point. Whent there is a perfect match, why not take that as #1? I mean, as long as thats all correctly identified as a series it is fixable, but should it be neccecary? So my solution would be to improve the order in what titles are weighted: #1 Exact Match (including aliases) #2 Exact Match (including aliases)+ Ending #2a Ending =(YYYY) higher numbers first (but that is my personal taste, so it could be a setting) #2b Ending=":" or "-" + secondary title #2c Ending other than #2a and #2b #3 closest match (as it is now, or improved) I guess now that i made this account, i will give some more feedback/ideas, but for the topic of
  18. The Dashboard web pages where the Now Playing information shows, have websocket connections to the server which have data sent to them whilst there are playback sessions. We discovered that on Windows if the browser tab is suspended - eg when the browser detects it is not in focus and not current active tab, then the feeds from the server buffer up leading to memory usage increase over time. If you do normally have a dashboard tab open, see if closing that browser tab before the machine gets put to sleep makes a difference

    channels missing

Yes you can mix different lineups - so that is one way to get round the problem. I have submitted a request to Gracenote to add the WETADT 26.x set of channels to the Elkton OTA lineups I see from https://www.channelmaster.com/pages/tv-antenna-map-elkton-md-21921 that the channels do not appear for this area. Also for Baltimore this shows them as weak signal channels https://www.channelmaster.com/pages/tv-antenna-map-baltimore-md-21224 These are the channels that i asked gracenote to add - please confirm i have the names correct 26.1 WETA-HD PBS "WETA HD" 26.2 WETA UK PBS Encore "WETA UK" 26.3 KIDS PBS Kids 24/7 "WETA Kids" 26.4 WORLD World Channel "WETA World" 26.5 METRO PBS Encore "WETA Metro"

  22. The Nvidia Shield 2019 pro is out of stock everywhere and Nvidia announced a price increase to $300 if or when it becomes available again. Bad news either way. What is an alternative device that runs Android TV, interfaces via HDMI, and supports side-loading and OS customizations like the Shield? It does not need to be as "beefy" as a Shield. Thanks

Yes I am using OTA Emby Guide Date - USA-OTA21921. I also add a second guide which did have the missing channels in it (USA-OTA21224). I didn't realize you can use more than one guide.

    Plugin: EmbyIcons release.

That is by design. Otherwise any new icon positions wouldn't be shown and all posters would be stale. I'm planning on making it profile dependant so only affected libraries gets updated and also only posters with relevant information gets updated. The last one might take a while to do.
