Add IMAX Enhanced field in metadata tab
ProphetHereticae replied to ProphetHereticae's topic in General/Windows
Just like in the image, circled in red, it appear when any 3d field is selected. It's fun that field can be replaced or added a "IMAX Enhanced" badge, or, more better, just a single flag yes/no in metadata edit -

Sony Bravia TV with EMBY for Andoid TV fails to play
Orionas21 replied to Orionas21's topic in Android TV / Fire TV
Look at those differences. To go to settings I push one button while in Android 2 and it opens also server settings... The menu in kids movies is simple and neat. Yet have you identify the issue? My TV auto update again the app and again I'm not able to play anything. -
Add IMAX Enhanced field in metadata tab
ProphetHereticae replied to ProphetHereticae's topic in General/Windows
Hi, nope, i only want a simple badge appear next in the page when a movie selectecd, like if i put any 3d format, a badge of 3D compare in the movie. For poster, i know there is a plugin that add this info on poster, but it's not what i ask. I'm trying a method to replace the 3D format field in metadata in library.db with sqlite, since i don't have 3d movies, but i can't figure out if it possible -
That's a description of how it works, though, not a benefit in itself. "The server isn't in the media path" is a neutral fact — it becomes an advantage only where the server being in the path actually costs you something: an underpowered box, a separate NAS with a double network hop, a player that buffers badly at high bitrate, or BDMV/ISO structures that need real file access. Where those apply, it's clearly the better architecture and I'd use it too. Where they don't — and if Emby runs on the same machine as the storage, there's no extra hop to remove — it's just a different route to the same bytes. And HTTP has its own advantages that aren't nothing: it works on every client including browsers, TVs and Chromecast, it works remotely without a VPN, no share credentials on each device, one port behind TLS, and it falls back to remux or transcode instead of simply failing when a client can't handle the file. So: two architectures, different trade-offs, same picture and same sound. Which one wins depends entirely on the setup — which is roughly where we started.

Not sure I understood that properly, you prefer clean poster but you'd like a badge - where? -

Them you need to speak with them. Its against TOS to use Emby's software to sell streaming services. And Emby does not host that server or the media on that server.

Is this using channel 700 in Local Over the Air Broadcast (OTA) and channel 181 in United Kingdom (extended) National Virtual ? These are the channel numbers in the two lineups for BBC Radio 1

@pwhodges Whether I should direct my energy elsewhere is really for me to decide, Paul. More importantly, you've shifted the argument. I haven't said that Emby has to implement everything according to my personal preference. In fact, I explicitly said the opposite: I accept that not maintaining Direct File Access is a legitimate development and priority decision. What I challenged was the claim that there is no actual benefit to Direct File Access. I've explained that benefit and the distinction several times now. You don't have to consider that benefit important to you. Eric doesn't have to consider it important enough to maintain. But neither of those things makes the benefit cease to exist. So if your remaining argument is essentially that I should stop discussing it because Emby has made its decision, then I think we've moved away from the technical discussion entirely. And telling someone to spend their energy elsewhere is not actually a counterargument.

Hi, i'm searching a method to add IMAX Enhanced to movies that have imax aspect ratio, a simple field like 3d format. I know there are plugins that alter poster with many of metadata info, but i prefer clean poster and just a little inscription of Imax nearby parental, genre and the 3d badge (a badge like 3d is perfect) I already have tags set to my movies have imax ratio. It's possibile to do that? Maybe a future update? Or at least modify the library.db? Very thanks!!

You also seem unable to accept that not everything gets to be done to suit your preference. Not giving up may be a virtue, but sometimes it might be more fulfilling to direct your energies elsewhere. Paul

Error in version 2.4.8 for Samsung TVs
MediaEmby1968 replied to MediaEmby1968's topic in Samsung Smart TV
Hi, @Luke @SamES I’ve tested it and it works. I just wanted to mention that it took a while to start up on the first load; it stayed on the Emby logo for a long time, but it finally launched when I decided to exit. Also, a "starting server to connect" (or similar) message appears now—taking a bit longer than before—which didn't use to show up. Thanks to both of you. -

HI there, can you please provide a specific example? How to Report a Problem Thanks ! -
@Luke @ebr After all these discussions, have we now reached the point where the strategy is simply to sit this out in silence and hope that the thread starter eventually “forgets” about it? Sorry, I have a bit of a hyperthymestic memory — I don’t forget!

They are set correctly. The reason they don't show up is that they are not in season folders. I tested this by placing one of the recordings in a season folder, and it then appeared in Continue Watching. -
