Is there any C# API to query the logmanager for debug mode?
HawkXP71 replied to HawkXP71's topic in Developer API
Question, I happen to be inside a JS function when I need this. The way that I solved it, is to use var url = ApiClient.getUrl("/emby/System/Configuration"); ApiClient.getJSON(url).then(response => { if (response.EnableDebugLevelLogging) { ....... Is there a better way? -

In my experience with the Android app searching, it is far longer than 15-20 seconds, it can be up to like 3 minutes +/-, however, as I said before, same search terms work perfectly fine on web UI, and I don't use search a lot especially from the web UI because I'm mainly using Android clients, So I don't know if there's some magic combination that would cause it to happen on the web UI as well, and if it does happen, is it the same 3 minutes, or is it shorter.

Well, when you put it that way...:D

The absence of a checkmark on a TV Series poster tells you it is fully watched (at least the content you actually have). While you can potentially make an argument that that is inconsistent, it actually fits the usage pattern for most people. With movies, you want to see what has already been watched (or not) but with Series, your are more interested in if there is any new content to watch. This is because movies are (typically) watched once or, at least, the status is binary while with a Series, it can be constantly changing day to day as new content comes in.

I think the search is massively improved however there are still occasionally a few search queries that timeout. I think an important part of this problem is how the server locks up during search. Even with the vast majority of successful searches, it's still 15-20 seconds of server downtime anytime a user does a search (I can't even get the dashboard to load). Is that something we can have looked into? Should that merit its own discussion thread?

Lifetime Emby Premiere Abo, yet App keeps nagging
TMCsw replied to WonkoTheSane's topic in LG Smart TV
For Premiere features, you can't! All servers and clients need access to mb3admin.com for Premiere features; non-Premiere features will work fine without. https://emby.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/44001173099-emby-premiere-feature-matrix -
I understand the frustration of not seeing a requested feature making it's way into Emby. Heck, I've got one or two that are years old too. - HOWEVER - Just for shits & giggles, I thought I would make something that would handle one of my requests; Actor, Cast, & Crew management. I didn't think it would be that hard since I handle relatively large datasets all the time. I have since discovered that there are many moving parts. So, so many moving parts. I've had 32 commits to git in just 12 days because I keep having to fix crap that I didn't consider. Touch one thing and it affects 10 others. A simple fat-finger keystroke can be catastrophic to a media library. And if you think people get frustrated with missing features, just wait until they have a function that deletes or corrupts their media database. And I am only dealing with 56K videos on a single dedicated machine and extremely clean and organized library (if I do say so myself). They have to consider not only their own testing library, but the millions of files and untold number of configurations out in the wild. Emby's developers have to walk a very fine line. If Jellyfin rolled out a feature that was alpha quality and it caused issues, you can chalk it up to being open source testing level software that you are not paying for and you would forgive them because it's a small development team. Emby would have people yelling that they paid them good money and they ruined everything and they are the cause of their wife leaving with the kids and the dog biting them. Emby is not like Plex where they have a large development and support structure. If Plex did something like that, everyone would be justified for getting their torches and pitchforks. So while I understand and even empathize with many people frustrated with the snail like pace of often requested features, I now have a newfound understanding of why these things might take this long. I should probably add a disclaimer. I am not a part of the Emby team, I don't know any of them personally, and I don't presume to speak for any of them. The opinions expressed in this post are mine and mine alone. I don't want to step on any toes and I don't want anyone lashing out at the forum mods because they think I am a shill.

Custom Provider/ Hook in the Download Engine via C# Plugin.
ginjaninja replied to ginjaninja's topic in Developer API
Thanks for confirming. Embedding artwork in all files would add ~33GB to my music ssd, which i dont have right now, but maybe thats the only way to go. I had created a feature request, so will see if others in community have any interest in an embedding option, if its just me it might be time for me to upgrade my ssd! Maybe a feature request for a surface for plugin developers would bemore realistic. -
Custom Provider/ Hook in the Download Engine via C# Plugin.
Luke replied to ginjaninja's topic in Developer API
Hi, there is no way to do this. Why wouldn't the files just have it embedded to begin with? -
Have you been migrated to CGNAT?

Awesome thank you. I would like to say I will double check my response but when I tried using a list it did change out the movies when the list was updated but it didn't have the actual cover art (meaning number 1, 2 thru 10) on each individual movie. So you are correct when I create the Top List within the HSC plugin I used the 4k tag for 4k movies in my local library and changed the Top List to display only 10 movies from that library at a time which is perfect it would just be awesome if the Top List could randomly circulate the movies within that library so the cover art will display which movie was listed as number 1, number 5 or number 10 and so on. I appreciate the hard work and effort you and everyone that has the skill to create plugins that are used to help make Emby better, so with that said no worries if it can't be done I am truly grateful for what's available now. Thanks in advance

If i want to insert some logic into the download sync engine would there be an approach to that? Any public projects out there that do something like this already? I woud like to embed artwork into files when they are synced. I have the ffmpeg artwork injection working for mp3 and flac, just need a way to hook into the workflow (and force both transcoded and original downloads via the interception) Thanks -
[Beta] ROMote – play your retro game collection in the browser (NES → PlayStation)
digitalirony replied to digitalirony's topic in Plugins
I am taking a look at this right now. I can fix this issue in the next version, I will post shortly. I know the cause. I didn't have time yet. Last week was finals week for my summer semester at school, and I was quite busy. But I am free for the next few weeks to work on stuff again. I will take a look and hope to have a fix for this before you asap. -
Option to embed artwork in music files on a download sync task
ginjaninja posted a topic in Feature Requests
I would like [an option] to embed the Emby associated artwork into [music] files when they are download. Wether transocded or original as they get to the destination. This is so that when an application like VLC (or even emby) accesses downloaded/synced content it presents the artwork. (In my case in apple car play with 1000 track playlist) Embedding artwork in all music files beforehand is a bit wasteful on disk space (adding ~500KB per file would add 33 GB) thanks for considering -
Our package on the beta channel has a permissions fix for TOS 7. It will be in the next stable release.
-
If it plays YouTube content directly without using a YouTube sdk then we risk the wrath of Google if we put our stamp of approval on it. The same thing goes with scrapping websites of premium data services. They would end up coming after us even though it’s not our app.

TOS 7 Stable and Latest Emby Issue Upgrading
lunerorbit replied to Racerprose's topic in TerraMaster NAS
I updated to the latest TOS7 and Emby versions and I lost my libraries. Annoying though it is, I decided just to rebuild the libraries. Emby started up fine and I tried to build a movie library. Went to add folder, scrolled to the appropriate hard drive and clicked on it. Nothing happened, it didnt open to reveal the folders. Its just like clicking on a line of text, all it does is highlight the text. Therefore, I cant rebuild the libraries. All the networked pc's can see the drive and open its contents. I dont know how to proceed. -
I see nothing wrong with the integration of those items regardless of terms of use.

Oh, I thought he was talking about content in general, not just tv shows. My bad. I know there were checkmarks a few months ago. Didn't know that only applies to movies. Which is kinda not useful.

You have a Dev and an App Dev telling you something - I'd take their statements as knowing what they're talking about. You're mixing multiple watched indicators, so to clarify that: Movies get watched checkmark once fully played. Episodes get watched checkmark once fully played. TV Shows do not get watched checkmark when fully played (and they haven't had it for over a decade). Unwatched episodes count just decreases and eventually disappears when all episodes played. No checkmark.
-
Dude, come on. I watch some movies, and after I watch them I leave them on my server so that my girlfriend can watch them. We used that Watched checkmark, so she can know what movies she can watch. That was until a few months ago. No need to try to convince me that it was all a dream. And how about this post I posted 3 years ago, where you can see the checkmark: Waw that also a dream? And I will find more screenshots, I have some from more recent.
