Developer API: Add an item to Resume/Next Up without starting playback
Lasikie replied to Lasikie's topic in Developer API
Thanks for clarifying. I’ve achieved a workaround by reporting a synthetic client session through /Sessions/Playing, /Sessions/Playing/Progress, and /Sessions/Playing/Stopped. This makes the item appear in Resume/Next Up without actually starting playback. I then restore the item’s original UserData and suppress the synthetic session so PlayCount and watch history remain unchanged. It works, although it would be much cleaner to have a supported queue-only API. -

Look in the app settings. There is an option for this.

Developer API: Add an item to Resume/Next Up without starting playback
Luke replied to Lasikie's topic in Developer API
Hi, this is not possible because the resume list is not a list that is stored anywhere. it is calculated on the fly based on current watch data. -

Remember audio playback speed and make the button more accessible
devKazuto replied to milostv60's topic in Feature Requests
As a software developer myself it's absolutely not understandable why this feature hasn't been implemented after five years. Basically all you need to do is save the playback to the users profile like all the other settings and check it before playback. It's not that complex of a feature that needs years to be evaluated. It's a simple read and write operation. And since you went closed source I, and many others, can't just open a PR with the necessary changes. Probably gonna switch to Jellyfin after years of using Emby becauce I just can't stand ignoring users requests for such a simple feature for years and years. At least there I can contribute something if I want QoL improvements instead of just waiting for nothing to change. -

Hi, do you really think it's cluttering even though it's all the way at the bottom?

Emby Theatre for Windows can't connect to server
spiller37 replied to spiller37's topic in Windows & Xbox
Server is a docker hosted on Unraid. Client has network type set to Private and is able to Test-NetConnection to the port as well as being able to access from the browser. It is really baffling. -

Nice work. As I‘m away from my PC and out of curiosity: what do you use for the analysis? Essentia? -
Had some kind of break of security today so I installed Malware Anti-bytes. It detected Emby related things.

E.g. Cisco scanned their firmwares (router, firewalls, switches) recently with Mythos before attackers will do it resulting in a shitload of CVEs no one found for years. I would not in the slightest way believe that an open http port is or will be no big attack vector, specially for attackers/spoofers that use AI to search for vulnerabilities. In 2026 running any port with unencrypted traffic inbound to a service without proper restrictions like WAF etc. is a big no no. Simply no. -
SortSpion started following Ability to disable filmography
-
I would like an option to disable the new filmography section that have made it into public availability version 4.10.0.40. The new view feels very cluttering. And since there are no connections between the titles in the filmography section to the titles on the server (names, descriptions, years, posters, etc.) it also feels very disconnected from the rest of the server. Finally, having such complete lists feels less like useful information and more like a highlight of contents missing from the server which isn't the effect I want for my server. From a use-case perspective, I would never got to Netflix or Disney+ to see a complete list of movies that an actor/director/whatever have been a part of. For that I would go to IMDb, TMDB, tvdb or similar. I expect Emby to function more like the former than the latter. I can see that this has been a long standing feature request from some users, so I understand that a request to remove it completely would be counter-productive. But an option to disable this globally from the server would be much appreciated. HOWEVER... Splitting the titles by how the person contributes (actor/director/whatever) is an awesome addition. As is the extra information about the name of the character played by an actor. If this information and split could find its way to the "normal" film section (the one with titles on the from the server) I think that could make that section even more useful than it already is.

I experienced the same on chrome while playing h265 + EAC3. Attaching report from Codex. emby-hls-remux-bug-report.zip -
That's not going to support any of the new server features. Exactly what happens when you try?
-
Exactly where and how is it asking you that?
-
Yes but I think the value is going to be very limited because discoverability will be extremely low.

You too - enjoy using extra software to avoid opening ports. I will stick with opening ports which connect to known and trusted software only, which is basically how the Internet works. Paul -
Or just allow you to re-order them and then you can put the one you want in front... then we eliminate the setting and the remember behavior.

Correct and, yes, per user.

Is the network type of your server set to Public (wrong) or Private (correct)? Paul -
How are any of those related in any way to anything this plugin does?
