Lets just let the cat out the bag now, Jellyfin SELLS all your data they sell your watch history your ip info your location everything. Wake up shake your head jellyfin makes more money than emby does selling cheap monthly subscriptions for $5 shake your head. Jellyfin sells your watch history and makes loads of cash just sayen.

The "Startup behavior" has 3 options: Remember last user Sign in as <your username> Show login screen This is not a user sign in issue, it's a server selection screen issue at startup. It shows this screen for a second and than transitions the "Select Server" screen. While on the "Select Server" screen you can either: Select the server which takes you to the Home page or Click on the Home icon (upper left) which will take you to the Home page of the last server you connected to. This just started happening after update 4.9.5.14.

Same problem. Emby devs need to fix this.

LOL, cool. Emby can send a payload to your server and turn your puter into a hamburger. We all trust emby yes I could come on here and long as emby is running on the vpn ip they can find me and payload my ass do what they want just sayen. I trust emby i dont give a shit, plex sells your data and so does jellyfin, why do you think its free they sell all your data your ips your watch history everything. Why do you think its free ? I don't know where to post this but this is what i would like to see In the top right play a live trailer video while browsing media, after a few seconds the trailer plays

So it's just a frontend then. The UI looks okay, but it is not a media server itself, so my point still stands that it's not directly comparable in that regard. Also just going to point out that it's still listed as in the Alpha/Beta stages of development. These days I'm personally a lot more skeptical of new software, expecially anything I'm integrating into or allowing access to existing software I already trust, or other accounts for that matter. Too many instances of bad actors & poor coding/security posture. Huntarr was a perfect example of why it's good to be skeptical. Everyone else seemed to think it was cool until it was discovered to be leaking API keys.

Clackdor im not going to jump ship er nothin since emby added the large poster size for me to browse through all my movies and shows i will never stop supporting emby. I have my firestick setup as all xtra large posters i love it but would be cool having some eye candy it is 2026 not 1985 lol. I like that i can browse media and it plays live in the top right corner the movie trailers now that is fucking awesome i dont care what anyone says thats just cool.

Yeah it is LOL i had my entire emby database connected to it used it as home server So yes, it is SELF hosted if you want it to be.

Doesn't even look remotely comparable IMO. It's not even a media server from the looks of it. After looking at their site and Github page I can barely even discern what it's actual function/purpose is. The only thing that is clear is that it's not a self-hosted media server.

Asked my wife what she likes better after I spent hours setting up nuvio and wife said she likes emby better lol. She dont care about the eye candy but i do i love it.

Nuvio app looks like emby but it looks better imo only thing is it has no live tv guide and stuff but damn i tried it and it looks good just sayen. You may want to pick up the pace if you want to keep up just sayen.

Hello, based on this post, I enabled ”Show a poster on the detail screen“. Then I noticed a problem on my Android TV: 1. I go to the first episode. 2. Then I press the down arrow on the remote. At this point, it should select the second episode, but it selects the third episode instead. Screenbits 2026-07-25_130411.mp4 Before enabling ”Show a poster on the detail screen“, the cursor worked fine; Screenbits 2026-07-25_130535.mp4 but after enabling ”Show a poster on the detail screen“, the cursor jumps erratically—it often selects the episode after the next one, or the episode before the previous one. Hi, I'm, curious. This plugin seems to not work at all. Playlist (Live) plays a 60 second video of blackness with no sound (repeated infinitely). Playlist (Archive) plays videos from the beginning. Continuous (Any) gives spinning wheel forever. Native (Any) starts videos from the beginning. I guess I just don't understand it.

Hello, this solution works on the web, but it doesn't work on Android TV. Because when I open this option on Android TV, The whole layout looks unbalanced and a little odd. That’s why Plex and Jellyfin haven’t adopted this design. As shown in the image, you can see that Wholphin’s interface is much more attractive and harmonious. Sorry, maybe I should start a new topic—the discussion has shifted to optimizing the Android TV layout. In any case, if you don’t plan to optimize the current design, this option is indeed a useful alternative.

Not sure how it works, but on the Home screen, and maybe others too, changing the size of the poster on the web app or the Windows app changes sizes on both, whereas I want one to be small and the other to be medium (or something like that).

Hi, the "more from" section is not intended to show information about the current episode. It's there to help you get to the next episode. why not just enable the poster on the detail screen? then you will see the poster for episode 4.
