I have not seen that (also in Australia), however I also block anything going to my sub domain itself, which is where bots would go I imagine. I ONLY allow /web /emby and a few others I have collected over the years that allow emby to work - but the emby.mydomain.com will be blocked. I also have an elaborate set of other block rules for stuff that maximise the use of the free CF plan rules.

why is the video being touched by Emby server?
Luke replied to horstepipe's topic in Samsung Smart TV
Actually Samsung just launched our app update for 2024 devices and newer. For older devices the update is still in testing. -

Scan Media Library Task performs remote metadata lookups despite “Never” setting
Luke replied to denzoid's topic in General/Windows
Can you enable debug logging, restart the server and then run another library scan? Thanks. -

sometimes the bitrate can still be lowered via audio -
What version of Emby Server are you running? Minimum requirements are beta v4.10.0.10 according to the info on the OP.

why is the video being touched by Emby server?
pünktchen replied to horstepipe's topic in Samsung Smart TV
The value of "Automatische Remote-Streaming-Qualität" will only be used if the app is set to streaming quality (auto), which is the default setting for a new app installation. But the app users are still allowed to choose any other quality setting if they like to. -

Hello, I have been using Emby for quite some time, and have everything running perfect. I am moving the media for about half of my library to where the file path is going to change. What is the best way to handle this change? I made a backup copy of my Emby Database right before the move. After the move yesterday, I started Embay up, and it started to do a scan of my libraries, but it has been taking forever. At this pace, it is probably going to take over a week to rescan. Is there a better way to do this? I also notice that all of my manually created collections are gone, but maybe after the scan has completed those will come back?

why is the video being touched by Emby server?
horstepipe replied to horstepipe's topic in Samsung Smart TV
I see. but why is that needed / useful? So if a user tries to request a movie in lower quality but isn’t allowed to, why does he get a hls stream instead of the original one in same quality? If I disable conversion at all then playback will break on items which really need it. So from my understanding the file should just direct play. -

Attaching log file. I had them test it again, and the streaming failure in this log is at/around 2026-08-12 23:24 embyserver-63922176000.txt -
Add Refresh Metadata permission to non-Admin users
TMCsw replied to CBers's topic in Feature Requests
What media and where are you getting it that has this problem? I have never had this problem (but I don't have Porn or Anime on my server). This sounds like a solution looking for a problem. -

Scan Media Library Task performs remote metadata lookups despite “Never” setting
denzoid replied to denzoid's topic in General/Windows
OK I'm just not understanding, I am using the Xtream tuner plugin and adjusting what gets imported thru that, so I am triggering a media scan and the scan keeps trying to get images etc for items in my music library even though nothing has changed in that library and the scan spends 15-20 minutes attempting to get that before going on to my xtream library. Is this a problem with my files in my music library? do i need better tags or something? Any suggestions appreciated. -
why is the video being touched by Emby server?
Luke replied to horstepipe's topic in Samsung Smart TV
The quality setting can still trigger that. You have to take away all conversion permissions if that’s what you want . -
Hi, your settings are respected. Try adding some fresh new content and see how that compares.

So this relates to a topic I have been asking about repeatedly over several years here. How do we stop Emby from reaching out for new metadata *at all* when importing new music content?

Yep, same IP.

If you're only Cloudflare, does it not have an option to whiltelist traffic, and block everything else? I honestly do not know as I do not use it. apparently there is. https://developers.cloudflare.com/waf/custom-rules/use-cases/allow-traffic-from-ips-in-allowlist/

take a look at my git (in my signature). I have a plugin that should help you.

Plugin: EmbyCredits, detect end credits and add auto skip.
yocker replied to yocker's topic in Plugins
When enabled in EmbyCredits it will only look for end credits for any file that it runs detection on. If found it will use the time stamps from TheIntroDB and skip detection. For anything more you will need the other plugin. -
why is the video being touched by Emby server?
horstepipe replied to horstepipe's topic in Samsung Smart TV
But why should it do that? The user is not allowed to transcode to a lower Bitrate, so why does the server transmux to hls (and seems to show a wrong info in UI)? -
Scan Media Library Task performs remote metadata lookups despite “Never” setting
Luke replied to denzoid's topic in General/Windows
It doesn’t actually look to fill in anything continuously after the initial import. Something is causing them to be refreshed, probably a media file change, nfo file change, image file change, etc. I see you use strm files do also if the contents change. Whenever it refreshes it goes through the full chain of all your embedded providers. -
Scan Media Library Task performs remote metadata lookups despite “Never” setting
denzoid replied to denzoid's topic in General/Windows
It seems to spend 15-20 minutes every scan looking for the same thing, is there anyway to disable this or any workaround?
