Hello, I’m using Emby Server 4.9.5.0 on a Windows NAS, and I’ve noticed that it still doesn’t support thumb image from the TMDB source. As shown in the video, when I open the image editor for *The Cleansing Hour 2019* in Jellyfin, I can search for thumb images from the TMDB source. However, when I open the image editor for *The Cleansing Hour 2019* in Emby, I can only search for thumb images in the fanart section. Screenbits 2026-07-30_135958.mp4

ffmpeg remains post-playback, pegging a core at 100%
softworkz replied to Walter_Ego's topic in General/Windows
@Walter_Ego - thanks a lot for the detailed report. Could you please provide a test file and a command line which reproduces this? I have sent you an upload link. I want to test it against our new FFmpeg, where these things have fundamentally changed. There was no code change in this version. The only change was adding --disable-decoder=magicyuv for building. -

Perhaps a few years ago but a lot has changed. When we are able to pick this back up, its going to take some work before it is even ready for beta. I'm sure he meant the regular server beta. For that one, users have certain expectations regarding quality. When I say I had it running, this doesn't mean that the rest of Emby server is still working perfectly for every user. This will in fact need some time - but time where people are actually testing already (like in a private group), where there is no pressure like for the beta.

No problem at all. I've been very lazy and bad about updating the info here on the forum but In the plugin options there is a help tab, in there you should be able to see all the prefixes for icon names the plugin will search for and use. For series status it's: series.ended.png - For series that have ended or been canceled series.running.png - For series that are still airing new episodes I will update the info here on the page soon when i get around to it. For now i suggest looking in the help tab in the plugin for any info you might need.
-
I have already authorized the connection using the new version of the plugin, and my Trakt settings show that Emby is authorized; however, the Emby Trakt plugin still displays "not yet record" and fails to sync properly. Does the authorization require some time to take effect?
-
Closing this.

Thanks for the support! I would of course use my own icons, but unfortunately I can't read the syntax table that you've displayed under "Icon Naming Convention" on the first page of this thread. Perhaps it's due to my settings—what would the syntax be for the series status?

What part of this name is causing it to be identified as part of "Season 29"?
podonnell posted a topic in General/Windows
I have a "Mixed Content" library that is identifying some videos as part of a season. The name of one of the videos in "season 29" is: > Video Title (Match 1 & 2) [29X0Xxke3eo] Is this simply being picked up from the [29 near the end of the title? Another video title I have simply has "May 1st 2023" in the title, and that alone has it being identified as Season 20, episode 23. Is there a naming convention I can use to avoid this? I know of this page - https://emby.media/support/articles/TV-Naming.html, but is there a simple formula I can use to avoid this being picked up? Or, if there's a clear pattern I can reference to avoid. Alternatively, is there a one-click removal from assigning content to a season? This library is all personal videos, but there is some content I want to have set into Seasons elsewhere in that same library. As a last resort, I could throw this content into another Library that is labeled as "Home videos and photos" -- would the same issue happen in that library type? Or is Mixed Content causing this because it has TV naming? Thanks for any help! -
Display performer info in Album pages of Music Libraries
user24 replied to FredFrin's topic in Feature Requests
I think this data is accessible via the MusicBrainz API, therefore it could potentially be used by Emby. I tried a small test on this a while back, but then promptly forgot about it! Thanks for indirectly reminding me! I want to do something more with it later, but not sure exaclty what just yet. https://emby.media/community/topic/29750-add-a-specific-content-type-for-classical-music/page/3/#findComment-1472263 It's also a wider interesting discussion about showing more music info in Emby (e.g.) Classical, Jazz, other... -
EnableInUserMenu = true, plugin unresponsive for non admins
Luke replied to ginjaninja's topic in Developer API
Hi, after what actions? -
As per the title, the ability to search for a channel would be nice. More filters would be nice - filter for DVB-S, filter for channels which are mapped to TV guide X.

Does Nuvo support GPU-next on windows with MPV and dolbyvision? and yes Emby looks exactly like that when your in the suggestion menu in TV mode.

EnableInUserMenu = true, plugin unresponsive for non admins
ginjaninja posted a topic in Developer API
I wish to make my plugin available to end users on the Webclient, so i have registered a page controller / page just for users with EnableInUserMenu = true, It works fine other than i have to press f5 after every action for non admins. Claude tells me its becuase the Emby page wiring is hard coded to "sendmessagetoadminsessions" and not "sendmessagetousersessions"...but regardless does this make any sense and is there a way to make pages responsive to users. https://github.com/ginjaninja1/ManageComingSoon/tree/main/UI testing on 4.10.0.21 thanks -

First time I've seen that page (of course TVnext is closed) That's encouraging...(maybe?) I don't want to taint this, but with the "Dominance of Lnux" as the reliable backend for servers and everything, 60%+ MS Azure servers are now running Linux (MS has recently released Azure Linux 4 Preview) and your recent experience with Linux beta... What are your thoughts about the alpha/beta for this? (still willing to test this in a winX VM)

When using the Emby on the iPhone, If I change networks, the Emby fails to change the network as well and just freezes until I completely close it and re-open it. An example of this is when I am connected to my home wi-fi and then get into the car. It may play a cached song, but the whole app freezes when trying to access the next song in the queue. When I on the wi-fi, I am connecting via local IP, when I am not on the home network it connects via my domain. When I look at the dashboard I see Home (LAN) access: http://<internal_IP>:8096 Remote (WAN) access: https://mydomain.com Is this a known issue, or a feature request to have this transition automatic?

Yeah, that's a use for track count I hadn't thought of - then sorting of by track count would separate all "Singles" to the top or the bottom of the list. It actually would be a nice addition regardless of the use-case. I also want something a bit similar to this (but for Artists) for other reasons: https://emby.media/community/topic/128949-show-individual-songsalbums-counts-on-music-summary-pages/ I have a reasonable workaround for Albums count now, but nothing yet for Songs. Anyway, you've now given me a tentative idea of how to apply this to Albums - not sure where it will lead, but I always like trying out new options to extend Emby capability - native functionality is always preferable to a workaround... but workaround is preferable to nothing...!!! (apologies to the OP for digressing too much!)
-
Hmmm - I'm not sure about "correct" way, but I think there is possibly a standard way that is widely accepted. There are tags called RELEASETYPE and MUSICBRAINZ_ALBUMTYPE for this purpose. Other platforms already use these. If Emby had this field and could import the tags, then it would potentially be possible to either use your own embedded metadata, or perhaps fetched via MusicBrainz, which already classifies Album/Singles/etc by release type. Perhaps the MusicBrainz system could be the default, with the option to prioritize embedded metdata over the fetcher, much like what can be done for other data. Then, a "Group By" function could potentially be used to combine all so-called "Albums" as it is now, or separate the "Albums", based upon RELEASETYPE.

Display performer info in Album pages of Music Libraries
sydlexius replied to FredFrin's topic in Feature Requests
There'd definitely need to be some way to limit this behavior...for example, a blanket rule would make pieces performed by orchestras might make the screen a huge wall of text. Thankfully most such examples have a Musicbrainz type of "orchestra", I'd hope such a feature could let one choose to allow, say, allow-list solo/person and group types, but omit others. Just my tuppence. -
This has always been a fragmented/troublesome topic for me, and varies heavily across platforms. It might be simple to assume that albums/collections that have 1 track are singles, but there are often times entire albums that are shoved into a single 40 minute song. Another case is a "single" release where its a song and then maybe 3 or 4 remixes of that song put together. And again these are all dependent on the platform/publisher. But regardless, I personally don't see a "correct" way for Emby to distinguish between albums/singles/eps. EDIT: as a potential workaround, could include a track count property to display under each album.
