Before I Report an issue I just wondered if the community has seen this. 1. Emby Server On Windows 4.10.40 Emby Web 4.10.40 (Chrome on Windows) - Localhost When I access the Manage Emby Server Gear Icon - I land on the Dashboard as expected. However the Sidebar access to Emby Server/Devices/Advanced Options is missing - not there. I need to refresh the page for the sidebar to show. Should I navigate away - the next time I access Emby Mangement this occurs again. 2. Emby Server On Windows 4.10.40 Emby for AndroidTV 2.155g Subtitle Selection is not working on various foreign audio media. That is I will select English and Emby 'appears' to use the Default Subtitle. This is not an issue on the Emby Web or Emby for Android 3.5.55

LiveTV - Pass Referer header when following 302 redirect location?
Mbiboy posted a topic in General/Windows
Hi. It seems Emby will follow a 302 redirect location URLs just fine for Live TV but will not pass or inject either of the configured M3U TV source http refer header or user agent headers. Basically, I have a proxy that Emby is pointed to, and this proxy returns the real URL as a 302 redirect location. Emby will follow this and stream from the new URL without issue. The only problem is the user defined http headers are only sent on the first proxy request and not the follow up request following the 302 redirect. Is it possible to have the referer/user agent headers included in the case of a 302 redirect? Emby → GET your proxy URL (m3u http headers sent here) → receives 302 Location: https://stream-host/...m3u8 → Emby follows redirect → new request to stream host (m3u http headers NOT sent) -

Found a setting in the app that seemed relevant, something about "are you still there". Don't recall seeing that setting before. There were no issues last night. Will monitor for a week or so and see what happens. Any chance that's a new setting?

podonnell started following Hiding the length of content
-
Hi, Is there any way to 'hide' the length of content? I have some eSports games that I am adding to my library that I wish to not be able to see the end timing of. Would the length be pulled from the actual video codec information, or is there any possible way to edit metadata or .nfo files to make a video appear longer than it is? Curious if there is any way for something like this. Thanks.

Android TV app ignores remote playback commands / ComSkipper cannot seek
Deihmos replied to Deihmos's topic in Android TV / Fire TV
Got it working by forcing a PIN input to log in. So strange—at first, the app was directly playing MPEG-TS, but now it remuxes to HLS with comskipper working. Even my recordings are being remuxed when before it registered as direct play. -
Something like this perhaps I'm sure someone else is better at this than me maybe the community could mage studio posters

Android TV app ignores remote playback commands / ComSkipper cannot seek
Deihmos posted a topic in Android TV / Fire TV
I'm seeing an issue with the Emby for Android TV app 2.1.54g on an NVIDIA Shield. I also tried 2.1.55g. ComSkipper detects commercials correctly, but the Android TV app does not perform the seek. The same plugin works with the regular Emby for Android app on the same Shield. Does this work for anyone? This is all i got from debug logs. Debug Com Skipper: Playback Session = 5479f980a63349eb37f3db676a2dc027 Debug Com Skipper: EDL file ...Inside Politics With Manu Raju 2026_09_13_08_00_00.edl found. Debug Com Skipper: parts 0.00 75.71 0 ... Info Com Skipper: Skipping commercial. Session: 5479f980a63349eb37f3db676a2dc027 Start = 10000000 End = 757099999 I also tested Emby's remote-control API manually against the same Android TV session. A Seek command returns HTTP 204: Server: Emby 4.10.0.40 Android TV app: 2.1.54g ComSkipper: 2.1.1.1 Device: NVIDIA Shield / Android 11 -

feerlessleadr started following Next Up Request - Exclude Watched
-
Hi - I just updated to Version 4.10.0.40 of emby server, and I noticed a change in how the 'Next Up' section is operating. I previously had the (I think it was called) Legacy Next Up, rather than Continue Watching. The reason I did that is because watched episodes were specifically excluded from the legacy Up Next. What I've noticed now is that any espisode (watched or unwatched) that is partially watched will show up in the list. So older shows (like Friends, Parks and Rec, The Office, etc.) which I've watched 100 times and have dozens of partially watched episodes, now show up in the Next Up section, rather than just the next show up in my current ongoing series. I figured that I could just add an option to the Next Up section to filter for only watched episodes, similar to some of the other lists you can now include in the home screen, but that does not seem to be an option. Is there a reason that this change was made, but watched episodes are no longer being offered as an option to exclude from this list? Is there any way to have this option added back in? It's incredibly frustrating to have to sift through a number of shows that we put on in the background for just noise vs the shows/series we are actively watching. Thanks so much for your consideration.

ComSkipper ... A Emby Plugin that skips commercials

Yeah, I thought that also, hence their post was moved to that topic where they're the OP and discuss trailers, but they said it's not relevant to that topic, so I'm trying to find out which topic it is relevant to so I can move it again.

Yea, things have changed over time and at some places you may find older terminology. Most of your points are accurate. The one mismatch is the term "Emby Theater". It had been used for the old Linux and old Windows apps which were both driven by Electron. For the new Windows (and Linux) apps, it was decided to retire the "Emby Theater" naming. It has never been a name for the web app. tv.emby.media is the "Web App" There is no overlap The UI code is developed to run on a wide variety of browsers and browser versions. There are other target platforms with old browser versions that we are trying to keep supported, so when you see fixes for issues you see in the old app, it doesn't mean they were made specifically for the legacy Emby Theater application There is no transition The Windows app has been released 2.5 years ago already and is well established, used by a pretty large number of users every day You are one of the last few remaining people still using the legacy app and the only one posting about it Besides for a general mpv version (+ffmpeg) update, there are no hot requests for mpv features/options to add - just a handful of inidividual ones, each by one person only. It's been pretty quite in that direction, even though the new Linux beta is out for half a year now and uses the very same mpv implementation. Nobody found anything missing so far. It seems that most users have come to realize that there's no need for a complex mpv.conf file to achieve great and high-quality playback (even though you can never fully satisfy the 100% and you may be one of the 0.001% for wich it doesn't suffice). Feel free to participate in the Windows beta program (open for new registrations soon) and help us improve its maturity whereever you see it lacking PS: Hosting the UI code locally is a good measure, also in terms of security. But you should be very careful about the sources for images you are using, because that old Electron version is vulnerable to almost all of the browser (chromium) image parsing exploits which have been discovered and fixed (everywhere else) over the past 6-8 years - and there were many of this kind.

Think what he was referring to was the Youtube trailers, anyway I will upload a video shortly to showcase what looks very nice after playing with the latest version tweaking it some more

Similar to the Fire TV option, is it possible to mark an episode/movie as a favorite without stopping the media from playing?

Dont worry I will PM him to view the video.

That was clear - to see what? If he was supposed to see something, it must've been discussed before - if it's not the topic linked before where your post was moved to, which one it is?
