Hi All, As of Sunday afternoon, I have not been able to connect to my Emby server with any of my tv's or mobile devices, which is my main pc in the house. It works fine on my PC and I have not changed anything before the connection issues. I recently changed my router and all was working very well with no connection issues until my wife tried to watch something on our tv thru Emby on Sunday afternoon. We watched a tv show absolutely fine at about 2am (UK Time) Sunday morning after returning from the football. I have tried everything from reinstalling the app on all devices and PC, checked that the port forwarding, all fine and still wont connect. I can see the server on the other devices and every time I try to connect to it, it just comes up with the "We're unable to connect to the selected server right now. Please ensure it is running and try again" phrase. I can assure you that the sever is very much on and running. I am at my wits end now as it was all working perfectly and all of a sudden it just doesn't want to work, where nothing has changed since we last watched something. Any help will be very much appreciated, please keep it simple as I'm not a real wiz with all the technical stuff. Many thanks

For audio playlists yes I fixed it already in my internal dev version, but I try to fix the video playlists as well. I'll release a new version by next weekend.

I'm really glad you agree with me—we really need this feature. If the development team could consider implementing this feature, it would be a pleasant surprise for users who have been waiting for it for several years. Even if you hold down the right button on the remote, it takes a long time to scroll all the way to the right for a movie like *The Avengers*, which is really annoying. That's a good suggestion. Hence you should've contributed to that discussion as both FRs are basically asking for the same thing, there's no need for multiple FRs addressing same topic and diluting potential support. For some. I find it utterly unimportant and save Director and Writer, never want to see any other Crew member. But for those that do find it valuable, you are correct and your FR is completely legit - there should be an option. You don't need to keep pressing right arrow - just hold it, you'll eventually get to the end, within a second or two. But as said above, there should be an option to split the two. I would assume that for vast majority of users that isn't question at all. Though that doesn't imply that the other part should just grudgingly accept it, if splitting is unfeasible - order should be selectable. Hello, there’s already a similar post , but the content of my post is a bit different. I’ve proposed a specific implementation plan, so I’ve created a new post to discuss whether this “specific implementation plan” is feasible and whether you’re willing to implement it. First, we should agree on one thing: the Cast and Crew are equally important. When watching a movie or TV show, we want to know about both the Cast and the Crew. Second, I mostly use the Emby Universal app on Android TV, so I rely entirely on the “Cast & Crew” section to view the crew information. So here’s the issue: currently, when Emby displays the cast and crew, it almost always lists the Cast first and the Crew last. Only for a small number of movies does it list the Crew first (I understand this has to do with source data sites like TMDB; in any case, among the thousands of movies on my NAS, Emby does indeed prefer to list the Cast first and the Crew last). Screenbits 2026-07-11_151533.mp4 You might say, “Emby displays both Cast and Crew—just go check them out,” but the reality is that the Crew section is buried too far down in the “Cast & Crew” column, so we almost never look at it. The question of whether “Crew” or “Cast” should appear first when there’s only one column. Now both are at the top—it’s just that “Cast” is at the top and “Crew” is at the bottom. Of course, some people might not care about “Crew” at all; for them, the current design works better. So I suggest adding this feature as an option. As shown in the image, an option could be added under "Preferences > Display". When enabled, Cast would appear at the top and Crew at the bottom. I've got a problem where one track on a 6 track album won't get the correct metadata. The embedded tags are all identical to the rest of the tracks that do get identified correctly. I've done the thing of removing the folder from the filesystem, refreshing the library, putting the folder back, and refreshing the library again, to flush out any old metadata, but with no success. The Jack Beats remix gets identified correctly, the James Yuill remix doesn't. When they get imported into Emby, the James Yuill remix doesn't get put onto the same album as the rest, it's treated as a separate album: When looking at the metadata that Emby has pulled, it looks like this. The first screenshot is the James Yuill remix, the second is from one of the tracks identifying correctly. As you can tell, the MusicBrainz IDs are somehow doubled. Even after manually editing the metadata in Emby to match the James Yuill remix to the others, it still isn't put in the album with the other tracks. Removing identification and redoing identification does nothing to fix it either. Here is a server log of me removing the folder from the library, rescanning, adding it back in, and rescanning again. Server version is 4.9.5.0, running in Docker on ElementaryOS. Please advise. embyserver(1).txt

How’s it coming along? Also, will there be any specific advantages to waiting for the native app (whenever it drops) instead of going the docking route? Or do you foresee any potential disadvantages?

During testing conditions the ui didnt seem to update as i flipped the sort order. but having left it for a few hours...it is given me the expected results. Thanks @Lukeand team for the function and @crusher11 for highlighting its availability.

@Natelanxon Is this a cloud VM? Did you perhaps enable and use the original Windows administrator account where you don't need/have any elevation requirements and you don't get any UAC (user account control) prompts? Can you run other Windows Store apps without problems? Is your machine member of a Windows domain? Do you have any group-policies configured which might prevent the launch? => run gpresult.exe /v And please look for logs like @Neminemsuggested. Thanks

Was that checking the "Application" log in "Windows Logs" for Source: "Application Error" relating to the Emby app ? A suggested the logs may have some clues

If i change the password here does it just change it for access to the synology server or will it also change the users passwords as well, sorry ,new to this and what i done when i set it all up was entered an easy password to remember to get into synology , but being old then forgot the password . Everything is working fine so upgraded to premiere but when i installed the app on windows it asked me for the synology sign in which was different from the user so need to reset the synology access passwordnd it used the easy password. SORRY if I am sounding stupid

Thanks for an honest answer. If it were a private passion project of mine, I would surely like to explore and try out everything to see what's possible, but for this, it's different priorities: The highest value is to have some who can guide and show me which ways are the safe side and guaranteed (by their own experience) to be working. I think we'll probably set up a small beta group with a few who are interested, so that we can pursue this outside of the mainstream noise about the big HWA paths. Expect progress to be a bit slower and step after step, but eventually it will be great (because we won't stop before it is). Thanks again

Well it's a different behavior on the regular app and the TV app. I like it how it behaves on the TV app Maybe you could make it a feature, and people could decide which option they like, to exit the video or not when the screensaver turns on.
