  2. @Luke@softworkz, Understood. Is there an existing feature-request or issue number I can follow, and would this likely be considered for the 4.9 release series or a later major release?
  3. Sorry about the very delayed reply, as i am pretty much not using emby anymore so haven't even visited here in over a month. The UK has written the law in such a way that I am liable wherever its hosted, and because of age gates and cloudflare protection getting more and more common on the source sites, its now even harder to automate the backend to update the catalog, which is now at least 6 months behind current releases. I still have the database somewhere archived (not even sure where now), but its huge. it was over half a terabyte. So uploading it is also a good no-no, im not using my bandwidth to do that. Even posting it on a hdd to someone else would require a 1 tb hdd and hours of copying it there (maybe days because of millions of files). I might ressurect it in time as a dht (torrent) kind of network, that's an option but i dont think that adheres to embys own policies.

    Player Panel

Have one of those things that drives you up the wall. I use Firefox to play Emby 99% of the time. It's just handy for me. Until today whenever I pressed the volume key on my keyboard a "mini-player" would show the volume with additional controls and what's playing (attached). Now, it's gone, and the only place I can see it is within Windows Emby Theater. Same control panel. Did I do something to make it disappear? Software update? Unknown? I'm stumped.
  5. Hi, what are the steps to reproduce?
  6. Hi, yes this has come up before and is possible for the future. Thanks
  7. Hi, yes it’s likely to be added in the future. Thanks.

Philips smart tv - TitanOS - Emby app?

I click on the home button on my remote controller
  10. The display when listening to music is disappointing. I'm using a playlist, and am not sure if it's different for other ways of playing. Nevertheless, the playback screen shows almost nothing and it's hard to tell what's playing. Below is a screenshot. The only way to tell the current song is the small, animating playback graphic, which is really hard to see. The position of the currently playing song doesn't make it obvious. Further, as you can see in this example, if the song title is long, you can't tell what it is. It would be nice if the current song artwork was centered and highlighted in some way, and if the title and maybe artist were in a readable font in the area between the playback time ruler and the artwork .

    WebOS23 and DTS

Latest ffmpeg log line 81 & 88 Why are there 2 forced subtitles, one is .srt and the other is pgs? Doesn't 'forced' make both subs work at once? I thought there should only be one forced per media. Obviously DTS and TRUE HD audio take up a lot of transcoding processing. Add on two subs at once? Could that be the problem?

  13. TV Show Status Release Notes Changes 2.5.100.0 Add "Season Premiere" and "Season Finale" to the Upcoming list on every client, including Android TV, Fire TV and tvOS Fix Upcoming badges showing the show's next air date instead of each episode's own date Fix two badges appearing on posters when the overlay and web badges were both on Fix badges only appearing after visiting a show first, and disappearing again on the way back Fix badges never clearing from a card once drawn Add an optional calendar or coloured status dot in front of the status in show descriptions, which shows on every client. Off unless you choose one Add a colour setting for the Season Premiere badge Add a setting to show "Returning" instead of a date on the badge Add separate settings for library cards and the Upcoming list, so either can be badged on its own Add a setting to switch the web badges off inside the Emby app while keeping them in a browser Add a setting to turn off status badges on posters Change the Upcoming badge to read the day heading Emby prints above each card, so it always matches Limitations Season Premiere and Season Finale on the Upcoming list appear on every card of that show while the episode is coming, not only the card it refers to. One picture serves every card and cannot tell them apart. Only the web browser gets it per-episode Season Finale can flag a week early or late. It compares the next episode against the number of episodes the season is announced to have, and that figure gets revised while a season is still airing. Season Premiere has no such risk There is no "Only Complete" option for the Upcoming list. Complete means nothing further is scheduled, and a show only appears in Upcoming because something is scheduled Air dates on Upcoming cards are web browser only. Season Premiere and Season Finale reach every client Turning "Prepend status to show description" on can produce two badges on a poster. Leave it off for now With Emby's "Hide spoiler information from unwatched episodes" on, unwatched episodes show the series artwork, so you see the show's badge rather than an episode one Episodes with no artwork of their own borrow the series picture, and the series badge comes with it Your library's thumbnail view and the Upcoming list request the same image, so a badge in one appears in the other. Poster view is the only layout that separates them The calendar and status dot in descriptions are emojis, so each device draws them in its own style and their colours cannot be changed Changing a setting may not update artwork you have already viewed. Refresh metadata on the show, or wait for Emby to re-read it "Draw badges on library cards" is web browser only, and is ignored while the poster overlay is on Ended defaults to amber on new installs only. Existing installs keep whatever they had EmbyTVShowStatus.dll
  14. HTTP streaming isn’t DirectPlay. Genuine file access is. Take a massive 4K film, whether it’s DV or not, at perhaps 90 Mb/s, plus a massive HD audio track! That’s where Emby falls short! It stutters and jerks! And with Kodi, I’ve got DirectPlay via SMB and file access. Why isn’t that possible with the app? After all, ebr had implemented it for Experience 8.x.
  15. You were the one mentioning audio so i responded to that. I sometimes watch movies on blue ray, i've seen movies with it on. I don't really notice a difference if any at all. One would have to really look for it. Emby does direct play, as said it sends a bit to bit perfect copy to what ever player is enabled. Ebr or Luke would have to chime in on this but to my knowledge nothing in the video is changed by Emby when direct play is used. So if you played a movie with the FEL layer then it would be preserved all the way to the player. If the player or device can't play back the FEL layer then that is not a problem of Emby. One of the reasons that the Ugoos can play Dolby Vision with FEL is because it ignores any license otherwise required that others don't want to pay for. It's made in China so can't be sued. CoreElec is open source so basically impossible to stop. Yes a chip would be required as well but without the license any western company wouldn't be able to play back the fel if they don't want to get sued. Other companies making android devices are simply to cheap to include the chip. All in all.. How good FEL is can be discussed but Emby is not at fault for FEL not being played, at least to my knowledge.
  16. @softworkz; Thank you and that explains why the tags appear in the FFmpeg log but not in the item response. Would you consider adding the following optional fields to MediaSourceInfo or the audio MediaStream? ReplayGainTrackGain ReplayGainTrackPeak ReplayGainAlbumGain ReplayGainAlbumPeak ReplayGainReferenceLoudness The values would only need to be stored and returned through the API; existing playback behavior would not need to change. Separately, is there currently a supported audio-streaming request parameter, device-profile option, or API mechanism that allows a client to request a specific constant gain—such as -2.85 dB—during progressive MP3 transcoding? My intended client behavior is: Use track gain for mixed-track playback. Apply the gain during transcoding. Do not depend on the receiving player to interpret ReplayGain tags. Preserve existing behavior when no gain is requested. If no such transcoding control currently exists, would Emby consider exposing one? I am trying to avoid requiring users to install a custom plugin or modify their audio files. Thank you

    Plugin: EmbyIcons release.

I tried the new versio. For the moment, no problem
  18. @MarvinB Thanks for your request. The way Emby works is that we are ffprobe-ing all new media files and are storing a subset of that data with the items in the library in the form of Emby SDK Reference: MediaSourceInfo and MediaStream. At the moment, replay gain information is not included with the media information data that is being stored. We might be able to add that, though. With regards to transcoding, the question is how it should be handled: applied and removed, not applied but preserved/carried over, not applied and dropped. I think the latter is happening at the moment - at least when a volume filter is included.
  19. Thanks for both of these — they're bugs, not intended, and they turned out to be two different ones. The last row. When the last row isn't full, there was nothing directly below the column you were on, so the remote did nothing at all and those titles couldn't be reached. It wasn't only Movies and TV Shows — every grid in the app had it. Each row is now its own focus destination, so a short last row gets picked up whichever column you come down from. The middle poster. Also not intended. The bar at the top is centred while the rows start at the left edge, so coming down from it landed on whatever happened to be nearest — the middle poster. It now takes you back to the card you were on, and to the first one in the row the first time you go down. Both are written, and now they need the remote: focus behaviour is the one thing that never shows up in a test, only in your hand on the sofa. So no date from me — it goes out when it's actually right. Please keep them coming. This is exactly the kind of thing that's hard to catch from here.
  20. Audio playback has absolutely nothing to do with Dolby Vision. The Amlogic S922X-J chip is required for FEL. Very few manufacturers have this, though. And at the moment, it ONLY works with CoreELEC. With the right programming, however, it would also be possible on Android. It’s just that at the moment, most devices are Android boxes, not Android TV boxes like the Shield. The FEL layer provides additional information. For example, with older films like *Braveheart*, which have been remastered, you’ll see a very slight pinkish tinge to the sky without the FEL layer. Not with FEL. You simply have to see it for yourself. So you can’t just say, ‘The difference is so slight, it certainly won’t be noticeable.’ As I said, DV 7 FEL is a topic in its own right. But fundamental problems could generally be solved with DirectPlay. It’s just that an ebr doesn’t see it that way.

    New Folder Icons in 3.5.49

Please! In the same ugly boat here. Like sucker punching all that hard work in the gut. Would love to also re-bring up the request to get rid of the folder overlay icons as well.

    Can't scroll down in Collections

Just got the new update ver 2.0.9 (1) and this now works, thanks. Could we maybe get a clock displayed in the next update?
  24. Ui bug maybe when you go down on the homepage it always goes to the middle poster and not the left ( not sure if this is intended ) but when you are in the tv or movie section it wil not go down to the last row if there is no poster under where you are focused .

Atrium — a native tvOS app for your Emby server

Excellent. Such a quick response. Yeah, the runtime isn't a big deal. I actually don't think I have ever seen it listed in other apps any way. Probably will look cleaner without it to be honest. I do love the UI layout in general. The images look really nice and clean. I will be watching several movies this weekend so will report anything regarding playback. I don't have very much 4K content that I haven't already watched. It's mostly just 1080p standard blu-ray rips with 5.1 audio. I am playing mostly on a 1080 projector anyway and is why I don't much bother with 4K stuff anymore. My TV in the bedroom is 4K but don't watch in there as much. I am also playing to 2 Homepod Pros so audio becomes a big deal on most apps. Yours plays back just fine so far.
  26. I will try to do that for the next build, but please remember I'm limited by what the plugin allows. I will keep you updated Screenshot from tvOS upcoming. Season Premiere and Season Finale now appear across all platforms. I have not tested the Season Finale, but it should work. Unfortunately per-episode on a shared image, and per-user can't be done. but I will still add it to the roadmap. Checking for bugs—I will upload the update shortly

    Ear Wax Is Now Live

yes it is sad.. but there are possibilities... If your english is good I can give you access to the beta and you can at least try it out. Right now, I am working on sound-leveling with French language availability next on the list If you like the beta, you can assist me with the migration to French language and that is a win for both of us. Let me know your thoughts. thank you
