Why is Jellyfin so much more popular than Emby?
FourCorners replied to Nabukodonosor's topic in Non-Emby General Discussion
Watch the first 20 seconds of this, you can make streama play live video at the top just like this. -

Why is Jellyfin so much more popular than Emby?
FourCorners replied to Nabukodonosor's topic in Non-Emby General Discussion
Yeah the client apps have not been the best experience but I never really used jellyfin with apps I only used it with the stream link for movies and series to make an m3u when I was bored messing around. But I mean setting up a shared folder with movies in it does the same thing so I don't really have use for jellyfin. If I was not using emby I would use jellyfin or streama, actually streama is better than jellyfin it's old as dirt just like me but you can make movie banners at the top andanimate them or have scrolling banners that say Coming Soon etc, you can brand it to your liking you can make it look and feel just like netflix and have the logo say netflix and animate it even favicon it and add the netflix login look. You can embed live links into the banners so when you click it goes anywhere you want, you can load live animated movie posters like this -
Rating Sync update (v1.0.5) Download: https://github.com/pejamas/rating-sync/releases/latest What changed: IMDb fallback api.imdbapi.dev is offline, so the old unofficial API path is gone. Fallback now uses IMDb official free datasets (title.ratings.tsv.gz, and title.episode.tsv.gz when episode IDs are missing). Direct title page lookup is still tried as a secondary option. Works for movies, series, and episodes when OMDb/MDBList have no community score. You can start a scan with IMDb fallback only (no OMDb/MDBList key required). Safer Run / scanning Failed selected-item queue no longer falls back to a full library scan. Targeted series/library scans respect Update Movies / Series / Episodes. Progress shows smart-skip counts, clearer status messages, and a better ETA. Cancel / resume status is more accurate. API usage counters count real HTTP attempts only. MDBList community scores only use an imdb source entry (not overall score/10). UI Rating Sync appears in the Emby sidebar under Server. Clearer labels for Both sources, test mode, targeted scans, and the scheduled task.

all of them. I gave the log and the picture. and I said this above. I even gave a very specific line right form the log file, and underlined it. but there are hundreds there to pick from beyond the one example. Im confused why you keep asking me questions when I give the exact details, and an exact example. Then you ask for the full log, which I give you, then you ask for an example..... but I've given this. How can I share this info more clearly? Its all here.

That's a series. What specific episode is having an issue?
-
OK that narrows it down but that doesn't isolate it to Emby Server. There could be something on the nas preventing the server from getting the requests. That's what it sounds like to me. If you're trying to access the server and you see absolutely nothing in the server log, then the requests are never getting there.
-
I've had no reason to, it simply works for me. If i get some time i might write a plugin. Good idea.

Address is definitely right. I triedcan experiment: 1. Start up Emby server on.my 2nd NAS 2. Change the port forward internal target IP to the second NAS 3. Open Emby app, turn off WiFi and click WAN host link Result: the second server is accessed and can play media. Conclusion: router port forwarding works when set to the second NAS server. Therefore it's not the router. Compared all Network and User settings in the Emby setup for the two NASs. They are identical.

I suppose using the V I linked above would be sufficient. I gave screenshots proving its in Trakt and has a watched state. But the Log file for Emby shows it doesn't exist. But please feel free to pick at any of the others. Im happy to confirm if its in Trakt if you think you find a culprit. Thanks
-
Hi there, can you please show a screenshot example? Thanks.

HI, what makes you think it isn't working? How to Report a Problem But having said that I don't think we've ever tested this from the api. This has always been more for internal use. obviously you need to supply an exact match for the folder based on how it is setup in emby library setup.

Hi, please follow along here: Users have been able to install our Docker package on ugreen.

OK unfortunately I don't have a magic wand to wave. This does not appear Emby related to me. If you're never seeing any traffic reach your emby server log then something earlier in the chain is preventing requests from getting there. What that is I don't know, but it is specific to your environment. Are you sure the wan address is correct? Have you customimzed any other emby server network settings that now need to be adjusted following your router change?

Can I install emby directly onto this and just add my dvd mkv's to my nas from another computer but have emby run directly from the nas so I don't need vpn stuff running?

Hi. None of those are the main server log. Can I please see that one? Probably still the current one (EmbyServer.log). -

@Neminemyou don't need to be a knob I’m only asking if others have done what I want to do with my hardware and what the best option are as there are many. -
Hi, I'm on 4.10.0.20 (docker, linux) and i always used /emby/Items?Recursive=true&api_key=<apikey>&Fields=Path&Path=<encodeURIComponent(movie folder)> to find the movie within this particular folder. Now this isn't working anymore. Only using the full movie path works, so with the movie file included. Is this intentional? Or did something change ? Thanks

Is (v2.2.8) the newest version or is the usb 30 day that frostbyte was talking about the newer one -
Not sure if this has been answered. I'm using the latest Emby app on a FireTV cube (not the Emby for FireTV app) and when I play a movie I am getting a thin white line at the top of the movie I have also noticed this on TV episodes too. I am using the latest emby server as well. When I was using the the Emby for FireTV app I didn't not have this thin line. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Interesting. Maybe there was a defect in that version, although I don't recall it being mentioned before.
