I've got the same issue. Match resolution and match framerate are enabled, home streaming quality and remote streaming quality is set to auto. Shield is set to "4k 59.940 Hz Dolby Vision and HRD10 Ready" Everything is connected via ethernet, no Wi-Fi. All media is played back at "1080p - 6mbps" and forces the server to transcode. Never had this issue with my Xiaomi Streaming Stick.

I have the Emby app installed on the Apple TV in my RV. Previously it worked but since I upgraded my iPhone to Pro 17, the TVOS app says it can’t find my server. The Emby server on my phone is working fine. As I write this, I am in my RV about 45 miles from home. When I use the TVOS app to try to sign in using Emby Connect, all I get is yet another PIN code. So, is there any way to get my Emby app to actually connect? Oh, and I don’t think it is a password issue because I never get to the point of being asked for a password. I appreciate any help you can give.

and just to be more clear on this... the server has a option to mark or unmark a movie in a playlist ( circle with a check mark in it) - the roku screen does not have that so I change the layout to movies in order to mark/unmark.. maybe if it wasn't for that... but I see want a default setting

constantly changing from movies back to playtlist... I put (had) a library as playlist by default.. now when I'm creating a new playlist I test things of course so I then put the library in movies setting to mark or unmark the main movie. No matter what I do I want the library as a playlist by default and I don't care what AI wants. Before you know it all options will be gone and that's the main thing that drove users such as myself towards emby. So cater to the new AI crowd that wants emby to decide and remember things for them, just keep options open for the rest of us. I still can't get over Alphabetized tags...

Still on 4.9.5.0 here and holding off on 4.10.0.40 because of this thread. Several of us in the household are on Android and Samsung TV apps, so this would hit us squarely. For anyone who's already updated: is anyone finding a workaround short of downgrading, or is it a straight wait-for-a-patch situation? And for anyone who's rolled back, was that a clean process, or does it cause its own headaches on a native Linux install? Mainly trying to work out whether it's worth updating now and living with it short-term, or just waiting this one out.

First is the episode played via the android app on the device. The second is the exact same episode played on the android TV app...

OK I will test tonight, is there any way we can set defaults in that app for recordings so the settings just apply when you press record series?

Also of note is that it's not just the whole "People" directory. I have actors whose images are in People that work. People in the C directory even. I don't know what is going with the specific actors in question, but I'm guessing the missing image may not have had anything to do with it. I'll continue to experiment. I'm going to remove an actor from the People C and then see if I can refresh them to use the new people set up.

I thought at first it was just happening at random but after further testing it seems it's triggered by long-pressing the select button when going to get item details screen. A normal button press works fine.

I would suggest providing raising feedback on the web layout on the beta forum https://emby.media/community/topic/145871-41001-revamped-home-screen-section-editor/page/22/ If there is a likely solution it will come from there, then the AppleTV app will follow the approach. I'm not sure what logic the Android app is using for it's scaling, but the new spotlight on the web app limits the logo height to 10% of the screen height and 25% of the screen width, so the same logic as tvOS

Hi everyone! I'm a new Emby user. I purchased the one month Premiere subscription to test the features and services and so far I like it, however when adding my IPTV list to Emby there is the 5 to 8 seconds delay when changing channels, I find that really annoying and when playing a channel sometimes after let;s say 15 to 30 the channel rewinds itself about 6 to 8 seconds and sometimes little bit more. I wonder if there is going to be an update for this as I saw online that maybe since 2022 people were asking for this to be fix and yet the issue still there. I hope that this issue gets an update soon as the the other FREE app a competition on Emby don't have this issue so I will wait and see but for now I think I will not be paying for the lifetime subscription. Anyway have a great day everyone.

Are you positive they didn't actually change on the server? Please try editing those options ONCE and, after saving them, check the server to see if they are correct. I'm thinking what you are seeing is just the app not getting the updated info from the server quick enough.

Do you know how it compares to the new beta in the web app? As far as I know, the spotlight design should be changed to look more like the Android TV version. Is there anything else you could do to adjust it?

So I've restored the People the directory, but still getting the error of Authentication failed trying to read it. Even though the directory has no restrictions, it seems like Emby hits an Authentication failure trying to hit the directory. I don't think Emby should have any issue with the "people" and "People" directory both existing. I even tried editing the image and it brought me to the image selection screen, but if I try to delete the image, I get Authentication failure. What I need is to be able to wipe out the database entry for the actor altogether (or wipe out the path). Even if I delete all internal references to him, the database entry seems to remain (why the path carries forward). Is there anyway to accomplish the act of removing an actor from the database? I did try removing all references, enabling database vacuum, shutting down server, deleting the cache, and then restarting, but that didn't work...

It's more likely to follow the web app which was the case before the recent update to Spotlight on the web app

I'm sorry. That was too fast. Not to sound rude, but the inconsistency of the style and look of the page is making my OCD flare into the red: Inconsistent use of punctuation in headers Inconsistent margins Inconsistent header sizes Inconsistent color of eyebrows Inconsistent footers But worst of all: inconsistent buttons: I'm sorry if this comes off as overly harsh. But to me these small inconsistencies makes the page feel more like a hobby project of a few technically inclined people and not like a coherent professional product.

Update: Unfortunately, the issue returned again. This time Emby was NOT exited using the Exit option. The TV Home button was used instead. Emby worked initially after reinstalling the TV, but later it was stuck on the exact same exit screen again. So avoiding the Exit option does not prevent the problem. Once this happens, Emby is unfortunately completely unusable on the TV, as there is no way to get past this screen. Power cycling the TV does not help either. The only way we have found to make Emby usable again is to reinstall the entire TV, but the issue eventually returns.

Checked it for the web app and the Windows app with TV mode enabled, they are pretty much the same. Same issue But for the Fire TV Jaadugar is bigger, wihle the rest is the same Is that because of the different Spotlight design? If it is and that one comes to Apple TV too, then i would be satisfied with it. But if not, could it be adjusted to be the same?

max-height="160" max-width="700" There isn't anything you can do. Maybe you could pad out the image with a transparent background. One issue is that Jaadugar has images below the text, so it counts as part of the logo height. You could always crop that off. In comparison, Link Click and Bleach is just full text from top to bottom How do they look in the web app? Same issue?
