We have? I don't recall that.

ok @Lukebut I don't quite follow. Are you saying I need to sideload a new version that is out now, or is there an update coming? Also what is causing this issue? I've never need it in the 20+ years I've been using EMBY

Emby Beta Linux - not retaining server information
TenderBabyMeat replied to TenderBabyMeat's topic in Linux & Raspberry Pi
Each time I launch the Emby beta, it goes to the first-time run, "Welcome to Emby" with the promo text and the Next button. Next leads to "Let's Get Set Up". Next again leads to the usual sign-in options, including the option to skip and enter the server info manually. Interestingly enough, I had to reboot the server machine a bit ago, and now the Emby beta (running on a different workstation than the server) seems to be retaining the server/login information between launches. -
Merging Live TV recordings and downloaded TV recordings for same show
Luke replied to flashls82's topic in General/Windows
When you add it to one library, make sure to remove it from the other one as well, and then it should work. -
Merging Live TV recordings and downloaded TV recordings for same show
Luke replied to flashls82's topic in General/Windows
Hi, to merge them you would have to make them part of the same library. -

Hi, all of your requests to MovieDb are timing out: MediaBrowser.Model.Net.HttpException: MediaBrowser.Model.Net.HttpException: The requested name is valid, but no data of the requested type was found. (api.themoviedb.org:443) Typical causes of this are firewall, security software, or vpn. Can you look into those and let us know what you find? Thanks !

Yes, I understand what you mean. Moving the icons up or down globally can avoid the text in some posters, but in my case the current global position is already the best position for most of my library. For example, bottom-left works very well for around 80% of my posters, especially movies and main series posters. The problem is that the remaining 20%, mostly anime season posters or some specific covers, have important title/text exactly in that area. That is why I think the tag-based override idea could be really useful. It would not need to replace the global profile. The global profile would still handle most posters, and only specific problematic items would need a manual exception. Something like: embyicons-position-top-left or embyicons-position-bottom-right would allow users to fix individual posters without changing the entire library layout. I understand that this would require a new rules/customization section, and I know that means extra work. But honestly, if you ever decide to add something like this, I think it would make EmbyIcons one of the most complete and flexible icon customization plugins for Emby. The plugin is already very useful, but this kind of per-item override would make it much easier to get a clean result across movies, series, seasons, collections, and anime posters without having to compromise the global layout. Just sharing the idea. Thanks again for considering it.

Leveraging the native HDHomeRun ScanInProgress flag for channel lineup syncs
Luke replied to PowerCC's topic in Feature Requests
But we don't have any operations that are just an upsert. I would test again on a fresh install. Maybe you've been doing enough tinkering to cause an issue with it. But I can remove a channel from the hdhr web interface, run a guide refresh in emby server, and then the channel is gone from t he server. -
Can we PLEASE!!!!! Take out suggestions at top of search?
Luke replied to Beardedgrump's topic in Feature Requests
Hi, in the upcoming 4.10 release this has been changed to Recently Searched -
That would not be too complicated to make. In simple terms it would be: If this, then do that. Problem is that i would have to add a whole new rules section for when that tag is detected. User customizable every thing pretty much. I have been thinking of ways to fix the problem before but never really found a way to do it that i like. Instead what i do my self is have icons go up and down instead as that avoids hitting the poster text.

When the GrimReaper requests you better deliver! I added an option to copy or move the external subtitles, this is all only possible when exporting to custom folder. WARNING: Moving as the name suggests will move the subtitles out of the original video folder! Also moved the "Export to custom folder" to the main tab for ease of use. Hope it helps yocksers/MetaExtractor: Extract metadata from Emby. ***SMOKE BOMB!!*** back to vacation!

Merging Live TV recordings and downloaded TV recordings for same show
flashls82 posted a topic in General/Windows
Apologies if this has been asked and answered; I've searched the forums and not found a solution to the exact situation I'll describe here. Situation: I have some downloaded episodes and some recorded Live TV episodes of the same show (Jeopardy). The downloaded TV shows go into a "TV" library, the recorded shows go into a "Recorded TV" library. Emby's metadata is correctly identifying both instances of this show as the same (e.g. same TVDB IDs). Desired result: Episodes of this show across these two libraries should show up in a single "Jeopardy" listing in my bigger "TV" library. I have enabled "Automatically merge series that are spread across multiple folders" in the big TV library (i.e. where I would like the merged version of this to show up). What I tried: I tried adding the folder for the recorded TV library as a second folder in the big TV library, too (i.e. this folder is now part of two libraries). When I did this, the big TV library found the recorded episodes of Jeopardy, but added it as a separate instance of the show -- i.e. I see two different "Jeopardy" shows in this library now, one with the episodes from the recorded TV folder and on with the episodes from the downloaded TV folder. Both are showing up as identical metadata wise; they just are not merging as I would have expected "merge series across multiple folders" to do. Any ideas on how to get the result I want? Or is what I'm describing how things are supposed to work for better or worse? -
Playback issues with certain shows on Sony Bravia using Emby app
cnieuweboer replied to Zaryt's topic in Android TV / Fire TV
- you can easily disable all the resolution and aspect ratio stuff in handbreak - AVIdemux development is super slow, so doesn't include the latest stuff from AV1 like variance-boost - it's completely irrelevant if the source was original 8 or 10 bit (read the link you posted, it's all explained there pretty well), encoding to 10 bit is still good - under the hood handbreak and AVIdemux are just ffmpeg, like pretty much all opensource video software - transcoding with AVIdemux to h264 with x264, high10 profile, has the same issue when playing the file in the Emby Android app on my Sony tv -

yes it will pass through as pcm. any formats that arent set to bitstream will be decoded by MPV and passed to the receiver. you might also want to connect hdmi to the tv directly and separate hdmi audio to the receiver. I have one setup with 2 video outputs direct to the TV and projector and also 2 audio to different receivers.
