  2. I would like an option to disable the new filmography section that have made it into public availability version 4.10.0.40. The new view feels very cluttering. And since there are no connections between the titles in the filmography section to the titles on the server (names, descriptions, years, posters, etc.) it also feels very disconnected from the rest of the server. Finally, having such complete lists feels less like useful information and more like a highlight of contents missing from the server which isn't the effect I want for my server. From a use-case perspective, I would never got to Netflix or Disney+ to see a complete list of movies that an actor/director/whatever have been a part of. For that I would go to IMDb, TMDB, tvdb or similar. I expect Emby to function more like the former than the latter. I can see that this has been a long standing feature request from some users, so I understand that a request to remove it completely would be counter-productive. But an option to disable this globally from the server would be much appreciated. HOWEVER... Splitting the titles by how the person contributes (actor/director/whatever) is an awesome addition. As is the extra information about the name of the character played by an actor. If this information and split could find its way to the "normal" film section (the one with titles on the from the server) I think that could make that section even more useful than it already is.

    Run faster movie

That's not going to support any of the new server features. Exactly what happens when you try?
  6. Exactly where and how is it asking you that?
  7. Yes but I think the value is going to be very limited because discoverability will be extremely low.
  8. Please do this and then tell me exactly what time you did. Thanks.
  9. You too - enjoy using extra software to avoid opening ports. I will stick with opening ports which connect to known and trusted software only, which is basically how the Internet works. Paul

Roku - can we still change the default tab?

Or just allow you to re-order them and then you can put the one you want in front... then we eliminate the setting and the remember behavior.

Roku - can we still change the default tab?

    Correct and, yes, per user.

    Emby Version 4.10.0.40 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

But...why? What's the point of making the comment?
  18. I contacted Malwarebytes about it some time ago when I got hit with the same thing, and they looked into it and confirmed it was a false positive. They said they'd removed it from their database, but evidently not. I really need to get around to uninstalling Emby Theater. I've been ignoring malware warnings from Malwarebytes for way too long at this point, under the assumption this false positive is all it is.

Mark media item as favorite from now playing page?

Is this a feature request then?
  21. That screenshot helped a lot! Thanks! And yes it works now. Many thanks for your time and patience. I was searching at app preferences --> <user> preferences --> playback. You pointed me to server settings --> users --> <user> --> playback, which is not the same.

    Plugin: Home Screen Companion

Great plugin! I'd love it if it could be expanded to add the ability to sync user settings like the following: Profile > Playback (transcoding, max streams and bitrate) Access > Library Access Parental Controls These would be great additions for users managing multiple users. https://github.com/soderlund91/HomeScreenCompanion/issues/12

  24. Port 8096 open towards Emby Server is a very low surface attack area for privilege escalation and I don't believe it's an actual attack vector barring undiscovered/unreported vulnerabilities. At most an attacker could capture the unencrypted HTTP traffic and jack user credentials upon auth, or grab an API key from the address, which can grant them access to Emby Server, but not to the server machine itself. They would still need to be in a position to capture that traffic outside the network. Ideally, HTTPS should be used if you're going to open ports to encrypt communications, but nothing inherently wrong with opening 8096 and using HTTP. Based on what was provided by the OP, the executable for Emby Theater was flagged and whether that is false or not it's still unrelated to the details provided - though my comment of Emby Theater running with old vulnerable code still stands, and hence recommending to use Emby for Windows instead. The further details provided indicated an attempt from that IP to connect to their Emby Server and was blocked by Malware Bytes. There are scanners all over the internet that will try to probe for open ports, so I would say Malware Bytes did its job to block it - it's essentially a type of NID (network intrusion detection). Yes, you can get around opening ports by using something like Tailscale but it's not inherently bad to open ports. However the further details indicating Discord being hacked/CC charges, that can indicate that the system has some kind of keylogger, or was cookie-jacked - depending on if you're using MFA with Discord or not. That could have been some other malicious website or link you clicked on. Closing 8096 is unrelated to that.
