  2. I tried another movie which I had problems with. I removed all duplicate audio tracks comparing the language. E.g. English and german had 2 tracks each (DTS-HD Master and DTS). I removed the DTS tracks leaving eng and ger with DTS-HD Master and all other languages with AC-3. This resulted in playing the audio track with the highest number which in this case was turkish. Thiss time only the embyserver.txt log is available. I attached it here. embyserver.txt
  3. @RedNo7 I actually discovered the bug my self as well as i copied your settings and ran detections with those. From my testing that should be all the bugs fixed. One last thing, I recommend you edit the keywords it looks for to fit your collection better, the words per default are just generic fit all words that might not cover some series.
  4. Try the latest beta (v2.7.1.8), i fixed the problem. Basically chromaprint/hash trying to run on a single file when OCR failed and then fails because chroma needs a whole season for comparison. Everything should be perfect now. I very much appreciate reporting the bugs! Please keep it up when you find any.

Local User Password reset via email

Hi, maybe meanwhile we could have the option to custom the "Forgot password" link on the web version and the apps. This would allow people with other identification system like LDAP to direct their user on a custom password page. This would still be useful after reset password feature has been released for people who don't want to use it.

    Direct File Access - Exoplayer

Worth separating the two questions in the title, because they have different answers. On ExoPlayer/Media3: it's the default on Android because it's the player Google maintains and integrates with the platform — tunneled playback, audio passthrough for TrueHD and Atmos, frame-rate matching, DRM, and updates that track new Android releases. Alternatives like libVLC or mpv are genuinely good and better at some formats, but shipping a second player means a second set of bugs, a second audio path and a second lot of device-specific quirks to support across thousands of Android devices. That's the trade-off, not a lack of awareness that alternatives exist. On direct file access: the harder problem on Android is that an app can't just mount a share the way a desktop can. There's no OS-level SMB mount without root, so the app has to bundle its own SMB client and then feed it into the player through a custom data source. That's a real, ongoing maintenance job — dialects, authentication, credential storage, reconnects, seeking behaviour — for a feature only a small slice of users can set up. And there's some irony in the example usually cited: the Shield is the one device that plays essentially everything and has no trouble at all over HTTP. If any Android device didn't need direct file access, it's that one. As for why it was dropped, I'm speculating — presumably the effort wasn't justified by the usage. But that's a question for the developers, not for us to guess at.

    [Plugin] Watch Party

Those are intentionally resetting. They are meant as per watch party settings, so they reset each time. When you add a watch party with the settings they are correctly saved to the watch party and then reset so the defaults are there for next time you want to add one.

    Nouveau plugin : Emby.Zattoo

@fearless210tested the plugin here in austria and it works (Just tested live and no recordings, but i think they will work). Thanks a lot!!!! Just one small feature request See: https://github.com/fearless210/emby.zattoo/issues/1 Is it possible to bring this plugin in the emby catalog (regarding auto updates)? Thanks a lot.
  13. Hello, regarding the migration from EmbyWatch to JellyWatch https://jellywatch.app/migration
  14. Played was an english audio track. According to the ffmpeg logs this must be track 1 or 2. Also according to those logs track 5 has been marked as default and additionally it is the first german track, which is the user setting of the emby user trying the playback.
  15. Well they’re playing in different ways. They both have options to prefer direct streaming of live TV. I would ensure they are set the same way and then reevaluate.

How could I be getting lucky? That sounds silly sorry. So you're saying you don't get the same out come when doing the same?
  17. Working really well for me so far
  18. OK, it looks like the scheduled task did not stop the already running task this time: ...the task itself has decided it now needs over 2,200 hours (10x the ETA was before and it has only checked ~140 episodes since I started it manually yesterday which is also significantly less then before.) Is it because everyone has failed with this comment:
  19. Hi! I had the Embywatch app and were premium but that seems to have been shut down but I liked that, do i have to purchase new Premium for this one? I bought premium for this on my Nvidia Shield but do i also have to purchase premium for the admin app? I installed it on my Samsung but it says some features needs premium. Somewhere around 25 dollars for premium acess seems kinda steep. /Nathan Wind

  23. I have also went to android tv app and sent to developer logs so it can be compared. From windows screenshot that connected using chrome remote desktop emby_android_1788591834679.txt
  24. One thing from 1.8 that's easy to miss, because it ships switched off: there's a new look for the home screen, and you have to turn it on — Settings ▸ Home ▸ Enhanced home. With it on, the header stays put and only the row strip below it scrolls. The background goes full screen and follows the focus: move down onto a row and the header becomes whatever card you're on — its name and details — with that card's artwork behind it. The strip shows just the focused row and pins it to the top, so the row title is always visible and you never get half of the next one creeping in. For an episode, the header is what tells you which one is waiting: series name on top, the episode below it, and the synopsis. Same idea for an album — artist on top, album underneath. If it isn't for you, turn it off and you get the old home back exactly as it was: the featured title inside the scroll, every row on screen, and captions under the cards. Nothing else changes, so it costs you one toggle to try it. I'd genuinely like to know which one you end up leaving on. That one isn't a bug I can find from here — it's a taste question, and the only people who can answer it are the ones looking at that screen every day.

Please one tiny search results fix

It's pretty simple and independent of any sort of logging as it's just a UI issue. In any TV mode in the web based apps (not just the Android app it seems but I can make it happen by forcing TV mode when web connecting to my server), the search results are horizontal scrolling and limited to 15 or so and in other modes, it's a vertical scrolling list and gets all results. Can we just get it so that (at least optionally) we can get the vertical scroller for TV mode as well?
  26. You were right, and it was worse than them looking alike: they really were both name orders. The sort I was asking for is ignored by the server. What came back was, channel for channel, the same list you get by asking it to sort by name — so the first option wasn't the tuner's list order at all, and the label on it was wrong. That one's on me. The answer you got earlier, that sending no sort gives you the server's own order, was wrong too: it gives that endpoint's default, which is by number. Digging into why, I found the thing I should have found in the first place. The channel manager on the server keeps an order of its own — the one you can drag rows around in — and that order can be asked for from the ordinary channel list. That's what the other app is showing you: it isn't sorting differently or hiding your duplicates, it's asking for the default channel order. So the app now has three: default order, channel number, and name. Default order is the server's own, so whatever you arrange in the manager is what you get. Number is sorted on the device rather than by the server, numbered channels first and sorted as numbers, because the server's own number order puts every unnumbered channel ahead of number 1 — with a big IPTV list that's a lot of scrolling to reach it. Your 1,2,3,3,4,4 was the number order, with each of your two tuners counting from one. In default order it follows the manager instead, so you can arrange them once and the app will keep up. One thing worth knowing, because it cost me a confused half hour: after you reorder channels in the manager, the list the server hands out to apps can lag behind for a while. If a change doesn't show up straight away, it's the server catching up, not the app ignoring you. Thanks for this one. Two reports on the same screen, and both were right.

Why is Emby scan overriding settings?

But to save you time since you've been very helpful, it sounds like you have the date added option configured to use the date created timestamp of the media file. That is date created, not date modified. And I would actually suggest leaving it this way so that if you ever install the server fresh, then all of the media that you added years ago will have date added values from years ago instead of everything being set to today's date. I think that is a nice feature that we have.
