Sorry, been recommended this plugin but I think I'm missing something as I can't get it to work ... I stopped Emby I've copied the dll (v4.1.4.0) to the Emby Plugins folder on my Synology I restarted Emby Now what? I can't see the plugin anywhere or how to use it? I'm running Emby 4.9.5.0 Any advice please?

I feel the same, I have spent countless hours organizing and adding movies to the 11 collections I made and would hope when I create them again, they stay.

Will this work with a rather large library, because I reached api rate limit on the fiirst sync? I have around 16.000 movies and close to 1000 series and am a €3.00 supporter so I should have 100.000 api requests.

I can confirm Emby on Safari is only playing the HDR10 base layer of DV 8.1 media on Safari. Tested using Dolby reference files -> no strobing effect so failed test, no metadata reaching AVPlayer. This is consistent with my findings earlier that Emby is not copying the metadata while remuxing: P5 plays pink/green (no HDR10 layer) and P8 falls to HDR10 layer. I will be patient, all the best for you…. and maybe some questions can be answered by other users. Is there a reason, why this plugin is not placed in the plugin repository? (Some time ago I read about the plan that „manually“ plugin installations will be supported a bit easier (to copy them in the right folder)…. Any progress on that? As my personal focus and goals for this nice feature are „best-of“ movie rankings, like top 250 IMDB movies or the top 100 Sight & Sound Movies of all time…. I created two layouts and the reference files in my library. Basically everything worked great and the result impressed me. Some questions: 1) As the main purpose for this list is the „ranking“…. Is there any chance to add the ranking number in front of the playlist? (01, 02, 03,…) 2) Is it possible to kind of ADD this ranking/numbering also to the Collection and HomeScreen-Exports? As far as I found out, Collection Export and HomeScreen Creation looses the ranking. 3) As I have – for some movies – different versions and/or formats (DVD-Rip, BLU-RAY-Rip, TV-Recordings) in my library, is there a solution to sort those matches by resolution (best to worst) or by source-type or by folder sequence? (before the plugin chooses the „match“) 4) Is it thinkable to also include „placeholders“/missing movies to he list? As I’m working on filling up my library, it would be terrific, if I could see, which top-ranked movies are still missing in my collection. Thank you for inputs and thoughts!

I do leave it on ( was going to request something like this ) . about the enhanced home , is it possible to have it pick random order from the lists ? right now it always shows the same 5 since i don't always get to the movies right away

The AndroidTV app can still do direct access on a Shield, but only if you fall back on the OS of your Shield. There was a big security update on the Shield a while back which made ebr disable the option if you updated because only some of us could get it working on the new OS. I believe you can still see the option grayed out in settings though if your Shield is up to date. A few of us have fallen back before to get direct access, but I've since updated my Shield again because it wasn't worth it to me to stay on an older OS for this.

I tried another movie which I had problems with. I removed all duplicate audio tracks comparing the language. E.g. English and german had 2 tracks each (DTS-HD Master and DTS). I removed the DTS tracks leaving eng and ger with DTS-HD Master and all other languages with AC-3. This resulted in playing the audio track with the highest number which in this case was turkish. Playback startet around 12:00:00. Thiss time only the embyserver.txt log is available. I attached it here. embyserver.txt

@RedNo7 I actually discovered the bug my self as well as i copied your settings and ran detections with those. From my testing that should be all the bugs fixed. One last thing, I recommend you edit the keywords it looks for to fit your collection better, the words per default are just generic fit all words that might not cover some series.

Try the latest beta (v2.7.1.8), i fixed the problem. Basically chromaprint/hash trying to run on a single file when OCR failed and then fails because chroma needs a whole season for comparison. Everything should be perfect now. I very much appreciate reporting the bugs! Please keep it up when you find any.

Hi, maybe meanwhile we could have the option to custom the "Forgot password" link on the web version and the apps. This would allow people with other identification system like LDAP to direct their user on a custom password page. This would still be useful after reset password feature has been released for people who don't want to use it.

Worth separating the two questions in the title, because they have different answers. On ExoPlayer/Media3: it's the default on Android because it's the player Google maintains and integrates with the platform — tunneled playback, audio passthrough for TrueHD and Atmos, frame-rate matching, DRM, and updates that track new Android releases. Alternatives like libVLC or mpv are genuinely good and better at some formats, but shipping a second player means a second set of bugs, a second audio path and a second lot of device-specific quirks to support across thousands of Android devices. That's the trade-off, not a lack of awareness that alternatives exist. On direct file access: the harder problem on Android is that an app can't just mount a share the way a desktop can. There's no OS-level SMB mount without root, so the app has to bundle its own SMB client and then feed it into the player through a custom data source. That's a real, ongoing maintenance job — dialects, authentication, credential storage, reconnects, seeking behaviour — for a feature only a small slice of users can set up. And there's some irony in the example usually cited: the Shield is the one device that plays essentially everything and has no trouble at all over HTTP. If any Android device didn't need direct file access, it's that one. As for why it was dropped, I'm speculating — presumably the effort wasn't justified by the usage. But that's a question for the developers, not for us to guess at.

Those are intentionally resetting. They are meant as per watch party settings, so they reset each time. When you add a watch party with the settings they are correctly saved to the watch party and then reset so the defaults are there for next time you want to add one.

Hello, regarding the migration from EmbyWatch to JellyWatch https://jellywatch.app/migration

Played was an english audio track. According to the ffmpeg logs this must be track 1 or 2. Also according to those logs track 5 has been marked as default and additionally it is the first german track, which is the user setting of the emby user trying the playback.

Well they’re playing in different ways. They both have options to prefer direct streaming of live TV. I would ensure they are set the same way and then reevaluate.

How could I be getting lucky? That sounds silly sorry. So you're saying you don't get the same out come when doing the same?
