Can I update .m3u files in emby\programdata\data\userplaylists directly to fix broken links?
podonnell replied to podonnell's topic in General/Windows
Update: I had them invite me as a view collaborator, which allowed me to do a refresh metadata. That did indeed do the trick. Going forward, is there any way to have this refreshed without me having to be invited to see a user playlist? They are unable to refresh metadata themselves. -

Is that like a library rescan or some other way? Since it's on another user account I don't know if they have an option to do that. Something I can do perhaps? -

You might have to refresh the metadata on those playlists. -

Thank you. The user is still seeing a blank playlist however when they launch Emby. I restarted the server just in case the database read from the file on launch or such. Would there be anything else I might need to do, or this should be instant? Also, if I wanted to see for myself, how do these loose .m3u files link to each user? I'm guessing that is in the database? -

I updated some paths in my library, which caused playlists to break. I have since gone in to ...emby\programdata\data\userplaylists and updated the playlists there, fixing the path issue. However, users are still seeing blank playlists. Is there something in the database instead that drives how these items are located? Or, what might I need to do to make sure the on-disk .m3u playlist files are read for the newly updated location? Thanks! -
1.Current sessions 2. Music controls 3. Admin alerts ( updates etc) These would be good start in my opinion.

Hi there, can you please describe your issue in more detail?
-
This is a playback log though. Are we talking playback or episode intro detection?
-
Hi, we’ll take a look at it. Thanks.

Is there a way to use a third party player like VLC? Emby's suck!
-
The choice between burning in ass subtitles vs extracting on the fly is a choice between two demanding processes. if burning in it will be dependent on overall system performance. if extracting it will be largely dependent on disk IO performance.

Hi, not yet, sorry. What would you like to see in a widget?

Hi @IAmHugh what is the issue you are having?

HI there, can you please provide a specific example? How to Report a Problem Thanks !

Thanks for sharing. -
We sent them a list of things we need and are just waiting to hear back. They probably will have to push a software update in order to provide them.
-
Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!

Server - Count how many devices use Emby Premiere

I too would love to see this option added to Emby. Just a simple, "Over the last 7 days (rolling), X number of premiere features have been used on this server, out of your pool of 30." -

@ebrThis is not what @csa4140 is asking. He wants the same as everyone, the extras to be handled like in movies but not only at show level, at season level and episode level for scenario 1 and 3. Can you imagine that all my specials for Doctor Who - 140 specials - will be mixed with the extras that I have collected - 400 extras - ? Please revert it back, has no sense that extras in shows are mixed with the "specials" when they are not and will not get any metadata from anywhere. @csa4140for the second scenario I understand you have a version without audiocomentary and one with, if instead of adding -audio commentary you add " - audio comentary" with spaces before and after "-", this will be considered a different version of the episode and will show it as a different version in the drop down menu: In fact will be better if you avoid "-" and just rename the episode version to SXXEXX - NAME OF THE EPISODE with Audio Comentary. Hope this helps.

I didn't know that, nice to see that can be done and to learn that Sorry, for the misinformation I gave !

Not sure if it's a related issue but, if you have a folder (a movie for example) that points to another folder with a STRM file and you add the "Theme-music folder" the music is never played, this happens to all folders where the main item is a STRM file but works fine on for example avi or mkv files in the folder Hope this helps.
