TV Show Status — TMDB-powered Returning/Ended/Cancelled badges for series
Blueskies278 replied to Blueskies278's topic in Plugins
TV Show Status 2.5.122.0 Nothing you have saved changes — every setting keeps its name and default. Before you start: episode badges need one thing outside this page. Dashboard → Libraries → your TV library → Manage library → Episode Image Fetchers → tick TV Show Status, and rank it below TheMovieDb and TheTVDB. It arrives unticked and does nothing until it is. New Settings page rewritten: grouped into sections, clearer labelling. Upcoming: show Season Finale — per-episode, lands only on the finale. Web browser only Flag a premiere or finale this many days ahead (default 7) — stops badges appearing weeks early Say 'Airing' for a show that is mid-season, with its own colour Mark season premieres and finales in the episode name — adds the words to the episode's title instead of drawing on artwork. Works on every client, and is the only option for an episode with no still of its own When to show it — Always, or Hide once watched so an unwatched card carries the words and a watched one goes back to its plain title. Follows the preferred user, and updates within seconds of marking watched Fixed Badges on episode stills are no longer blurry. The size cap was computed from the wrong dimension, so wide images got a badge a third smaller than intended. Posters are unchanged An episode with no still of its own can now carry a badge — the plugin supplies the show's artwork so there is something to draw on The last episode of a finished season is now badged even when the next season is already scheduled The last episode present on the server is no longer mistaken for the finale when later episodes exist but are not downloaded Some shows never showed a Season Premiere or Season Finale badge in Upcoming. The card was checked against the show's next season, which only exists for a show with one already scheduled — anything else compared against nothing and never matched No finale flagged on a season that has not started yet The badge position setting now applies to the web badge as well as the drawn one Web badge colours now match the drawn badge for mid-season and finale Known limitation In the Emby apps, a premiere or finale badge drawn on a show's artwork appears on every Upcoming card of that show, not just the episode it refers to. Unaired episodes have no artwork of their own, so every card requests the same series image and the server cannot tell them apart. Only a browser can, which is why the per-card badges are web-only The episode-name marker above is the way to mark those episodes on TV and phone apps EmbyTVShowStatus.dll TV-Show-Status-settings-2.5.122.pdf -

Live TV channels are now excluded from the global search since updating to 4.10. How can we get it back? I don't know why it was taken away. How I can get emby to include live tv channels in the global search when searching for content?

Since you posted in this forum, 1 would think it was a general issue, also present in the webui. I suggest you post this in the app section, when you tell us what app you have issues with. That is still unclear..... Yes to say it again. -

Also it doesn’t look like you’re using the emby app, it looks like you’re still using a desktop -

Ok but are you still on version 4.9.5.0? Or are you on the latest update 4.10? A simple guide refresh wouldn’t just bring them back in the global search if they already exist. -

[Plugin / Beta] DLNA Renderer Filter – hide selected DLNA devices from “Play on”
Marcidarci posted a topic in Plugins
Hi everyone, I would like to introduce DLNA Renderer Filter, a small Emby Server plugin for users who have DLNA/UPnP renderers that they do not want to see in Emby's Play on device list. What it does The plugin detects the DLNA/UPnP MediaRenderer devices discovered by Emby Server and lists them on its settings page. Each renderer can then be enabled or hidden individually. A hidden renderer is filtered only from Emby's DLNA PlayTo discovery path. The plugin does not change the device itself, does not add firewall rules and does not patch Emby.Dlna.dll. New renderers are visible by default. Important limitation This plugin filters DLNA/UPnP renderers only. Chromecast targets and active Emby client sessions are discovered through different paths and are therefore not listed or filtered by this plugin. Compatibility / current testing Current release: v0.1.4 Tested successfully with: Emby Server 4.9.5.0 Synology DSM 7.2 Denon AVR-X4400H Sony soundbar custom DLNA-to-HEOS bridge renderer The plugin targets netstandard2.0. Technical note Emby's public device discovery API does not expose a per-renderer ignore hook. The plugin therefore uses reflection to replace only the DeviceDiscovered callback belonging to Emby.Dlna.PlayTo.PlayToManager with a proxy. The implementation is deliberately fail-open: if a future Emby release changes that internal handler and the plugin cannot locate it, nothing is blocked and Emby continues normally. Download / source GitHub repository: https://github.com/celle150190-prog/emby-dlna-renderer-filter Latest release: https://github.com/celle150190-prog/emby-dlna-renderer-filter/releases/latest The release contains Emby.DlnaRendererFilter.dll. Feedback requested I would especially appreciate tests on: Windows Linux Docker other NAS platforms other Emby Server 4.9.x versions If something does not work, please include the Emby Server version, platform and any log lines containing DLNA Renderer Filter. The project is open source under the MIT license. Thanks for testing! Emby.DlnaRendererFilter.dll-

I hope to have a fix uploaded soon. This particular bug was quite tricky, but very valuable, and while addressing it, I uncovered a few more bugs. However, the main fix should be working properly now Thanks -

Unfortunately, no update that I know of. This is one of those strange Emby situations where a feature that already existed, worked, and was useful was simply removed before a proper replacement was ready. Luke said back in 2025 that it needed to be reworked and that it was on the famous “to-do list”, but here we are more than a year later. The funniest part is that Emby still has an “Allow social media sharing” option in the settings, which currently allows you to share exactly nothing. I still don’t understand the logic of completely removing a working feature instead of keeping it until its replacement was ready. Today, when sharing links through WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, etc. is completely normal, being able to send a family member a link that directly opens a movie or show they already have access to on the same server seems like a pretty basic and useful feature. Meanwhile, Plex has continued developing exactly this kind of functionality: users can share titles with friends, copy links, share through other apps, and even grant access to individual movies, shows, seasons or episodes. Apparently Emby’s “to-do list” is more of a long-term storage system.

Are you on emby 4.10? And are you searching for them using the emby app remotely? Or are you searching locally? Because yes they'll show locally but not remotely. -

Try a guide data refresh. Not sure if that will do the job. I can search and then see live tv programs. -
Pressing play (on remote) during playback should show overlay UI
Trunk replied to Trunk's topic in Windows & Xbox
The latest Emby Theatre now have a issue where pressing play on my remote (to bring up the UI) during playback actually pause the video. Hope this can be fixed so it do not pause. -

If you are using existing CSS make sure to remove the :root { and closing }. but the variable declarations should be near the top of your CSS in your existing root. That might be your issue. Also, if you want it to rotate back and forth you can use this JS file. Spotlight.js

Collections: how to display extra fields like a library?

Hello For a library, we can display some extra fields below thumbnail (see below). How can i do same for collections? It should be logical to have same display, collection is a set of library content. -
MasterStee started following Global music videos path

Hi, I'd like to add a concrete use case to this request that's slightly different from merging music videos into the audio Music library, but touches the same underlying gap: grouping/display on the Artist page. My setup: a Music Videos library, organized by artist, with subfolders like: Artist - Live -- Music Video Title 1.mkv -- Music Video Title 2.mkv - Official Videos -- Music Video Title 3.mkv Each video file has both Artist and Album fields embedded directly in the file's metadata (tagged via Mp3tag) — Artist links the video to the artist page as usual, and Album is set to "Live" or "Official Videos" to match the category it belongs to. Both fields show up correctly in Emby's metadata manager, so the data is being read properly. On the Artist detail page, all music videos for an artist currently show up mixed together in a single flat "Music Videos" row, regardless of the Album value. What I'd like to see is for Emby to group/split that row by Album, the same way regular audio albums are shown as separate sections on an Artist page — so "Live" and "Official Videos" would appear as their own distinct rows under the Artist instead of one combined list. Since the Album metadata is already correctly stored and displayed per video, it seems like the underlying data is already there — it's just not used to sub-group the Artist page display. One additional note: since Emby's various clients (Web, Android TV, etc.) don't always have feature parity, it would be great if this grouping were implemented consistently across all clients — including Android TV, which is where I primarily browse my library. Would be great to see this considered alongside the "Extras" row idea mentioned above.

Can you some how customize what shortcuts is in the floating navigation on the Android Mobile app? I would rather have TV series instead of Downloads.

Nah it‘s not that bad anymore. Works fine on Fedora and the B580 can handle 3 parallel AV1 transcodes w/o breaking a sweat. There‘s only my htpc as a pc client. Other clients are iOS devices (tv, phone and pad), LG tvs and one android tablet. Most of these support AV1 natively. For me it was the logical choice, saved 11TB of hdd space so far, so the gpu literally was for „free“

Using the national service may have been the issue however it was set to Over the Air Broadcast previously when the errors occured. I have deleted all of them and just added local ones. So it was an issue with Gracenote as well as the guide listing data. That's good news. I'm testing recordings with a few other radio channels. Once they have completed I will update.

Introducing Traxx, an Android music app built for Emby music libraries
GrimEvil replied to Hauzz's topic in Third Party Apps
So far everything works as expected, Question maybe you could add a radio option for stream radio for internet streams as an other option? -
You can achieve that by creating a 'Dynamic Media' home screen section, selecting your media type, choosing Genre or Tags and a sort order of 'Random' You cannot however choose how often it randomizes. The row will randomize your selection every time the home screen is refreshed.
