I would recommend avoiding AV1. The support for it is almost none existing outside PCs. So if you want to stream to your TV, or what ever box you have connected to it, Emby would have to transcode. That will cause lower picture quality and cause your Emby server to work hard transcoding (if you don't have a modern GPU). TL:DR. AV1 is trash outside PC use.

Ugh, I must have misunderstood the plugin. We used to watch this on Netflix and Netflix would typically auto skip the credits and that's the behavior I was looking for. We're both hopefully asleep or falling asleep while it plays so not looking to have to manually skip. It's great for other shows that I'm watching while not trying to sleep though I've considered just cropping the files themselves but when I tried before they ended up a larger size! Need to find the correct editor.

I’m back to testing connecting IPTV directly to Emby and this behavior has not changed. I am guessing there is no way around it.

Hi and thanks for the reply. Actually, most users are external and most media is transcoded. I will take some measurements of the 2U case for possibilities, but it is pretty tight in there. Having a dedicated NVME for transcoding cache might be a goods idea. I am currently using a standard SSD as the existing mobo only has one slot for NVME but the newer mobo I am looking at supports 2. Not sure what you mean by 'run it manually', but I ran the pkg install < dependencies> from the URL, and it installed dotnet8-8.0.20, but when I checked, dotnet-9.0.14 was already installed, so I'm not sure what's going on there. Anyway, updating to 4.9.5.0 or 4.10.0.40 fails to start the emby-server service again. It does appear to be running for a few seconds, but then stops, and it's not writing anything to the embyserver.txt file Perhaps my emby journey on TrueNAS comes to an end at 4.9.3.0, which is still working just fine. I need to consider moving away from TrueNAS Core but it's too big and scary at the minute and everything I'm running is still working .

Can you send me the code if you have it in a PM? The download is not working after i foolishly tried to clean my Emby messages and i can't seem to find it on my computer. It's there some where on my computer but it's a mess and i simply can't remember where. Btw. have you seen this: Maybe it's worth waiting a little.

Just to clarify - the option to show or not show in tv mode only works just fine.

Are all your Users able to Direct Play all your media files ? No transcoding needed ? I know getting a gpu in a 2U case can be a pain …. I build myself a new Emby server in 12/25 and went with: Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 5 225F 32GB RAM 500GB NVME for Fedora 1TB NVME vor transcode cache ARC 580 GPU This way I was able to reencode all H264 files to AV1, on the same machine, while parallel emby and some dockers are running. And everytime I forget to set the Diagnostic Options, after reboot, I see the CPU is hardly handling one AV1 transcode.

I mostly use Roku, but I finally watched a movie on the 'new' Emby android app (hisense 4k tv w/android 14) and thought I'd comment. First, I think it's great that Emby is making both old and new android clients available to users. When Plex began their 'new experience' GUI and started the war (never have I seen such anger in forum threads), some plex users asked for the old client to be made available unmaintained at least for a while, but it didn't happen. Emby seems to not just be doing that, but even apparently making some minor updates to the old client - I think this is a better approach and Emby should be commended for doing so. I didn't have any issues watching a movie on the android client. It played fine, looked good, and (remote) navigation was normal. I also think the appearance of the android app is pretty good. Because of plex issues and an intensive jellyfin trial I did, I've probably used at least a dozen client GUIs in recent months - I'd say the Emby android app is probably up there with the best of them looks-wise. Also, the 3-dots/ellipsis button having access to metadata/image editing and other things usually done in the server web interface is really cool (I think only plex is barely starting to do this with some of their preview/beta apps). I'm not trying to say the new android client is perfect. For instance, I can only see 12 movies on my 'newly added' row, which is incredibly short (I thought I had misconfigured something, but found no setting). As someone very dependent on the newly-added list for watching, that would probably be too short for me to use this as my primary client. But I guess that's why the old client is available huh. Regardless, it seems like the new android client is moving in a good direction....and of course all this is mostly personal preference and that's just mine.

Does not work for Web (not used on TV) and Android on Smartphone because TV layout is not enabled and this modi rely to the same setting (show with disabled TV mode). But thanks anyways.
