  2. hi, yes it's something that can be looked at. Thanks.
  3. Since the update to Emby Server 4.10.0.40, when using the Emby Theater app (Windows version 3.0.20, Linux SNAP version 3.0.19) and I want to set up a recording, I go to the guide and click on the program I want to record. I click on record, then very often (especially in the case of sporting events) I will click on settings so I can change the "Stop when possible" setting. After the server update when I do this I get a spinning circle, and a somewhat unresponsive user interface. I can eventually get out of it, but it is not possible to change the settings of the program I am trying to record. This does not happen in the web app, nor does it happen in the Android app. I haven't checked IOS, but it looks to be an Emby Theater problem, rather than a problem with any of the stand alone apps. It's very annoying because I always set my sporting event recordings to stop at least 60 minutes later than the program is scheduled, in case of overtime, rain delays, etc. Note: When I attempted to download the embyserver.txt log using the Linux Emby Theater app, the app crashed. I had to do it in the web client. embyserver(1).txt

Mark media item as favorite from now playing page?

The value was enough that you added it for the Fire TV. Why wouldn't it be for Roku users?

Tags vs collections. Which should we use?

Hi, at this point they're kind of the same thing with two different names. Collections can also be populated from MovieDb. that's the only difference.

    From Beta to Stable?

Hi, what do you mean by does nothing?
  8. OK we'll take a look at this. Thanks.
  9. HI, are you able to try installing the latest version over USB ? https://emby.media/download.html
  10. Are these two folders in the same library?
  11. Latest Releases is based on release date info, not date added. Latest media is based on date added.

    From Beta to Stable?

Strange, Downloaded the setup.exe for stable release, looks like it runs normally. But nothings happend. Both of the setup.exe does nothing for emby server on windows. still on 4.10.0.31 how do I do this manually. if it is that simple.
  13. I don't disagree, HTTPS should be used when possible, but I don't think it has anything to do with what's being discussed in this thread RE: other services like their Discord having been hacked. Looks like the connection to their server was a bog standard port scan that was being blocked by Malware Bytes.

  16. Maybe the hard drive is failing?
  17. Thanks for clarifying. I’ve achieved a workaround by reporting a synthetic client session through /Sessions/Playing, /Sessions/Playing/Progress, and /Sessions/Playing/Stopped. This makes the item appear in Resume/Next Up without actually starting playback. I then restore the item’s original UserData and suppress the synthetic session so PlayCount and watch history remain unchanged. It works, although it would be much cleaner to have a supported queue-only API.
  18. Look in the app settings. There is an option for this.
  19. Hi, this is not possible because the resume list is not a list that is stored anywhere. it is calculated on the fly based on current watch data.
  20. As a software developer myself it's absolutely not understandable why this feature hasn't been implemented after five years. Basically all you need to do is save the playback to the users profile like all the other settings and check it before playback. It's not that complex of a feature that needs years to be evaluated. It's a simple read and write operation. And since you went closed source I, and many others, can't just open a PR with the necessary changes. Probably gonna switch to Jellyfin after years of using Emby becauce I just can't stand ignoring users requests for such a simple feature for years and years. At least there I can contribute something if I want QoL improvements instead of just waiting for nothing to change.

    Ability to disable filmography

Hi, do you really think it's cluttering even though it's all the way at the bottom?

Emby Theatre for Windows can't connect to server

Server is a docker hosted on Unraid. Client has network type set to Private and is able to Test-NetConnection to the port as well as being able to access from the browser. It is really baffling.
  24. Nice work. As I‘m away from my PC and out of curiosity: what do you use for the analysis? Essentia?
  25. E.g. Cisco scanned their firmwares (router, firewalls, switches) recently with Mythos before attackers will do it resulting in a shitload of CVEs no one found for years. I would not in the slightest way believe that an open http port is or will be no big attack vector, specially for attackers/spoofers that use AI to search for vulnerabilities. In 2026 running any port with unencrypted traffic inbound to a service without proper restrictions like WAF etc. is a big no no. Simply no.
  26. I would like an option to disable the new filmography section that have made it into public availability version 4.10.0.40. The new view feels very cluttering. And since there are no connections between the titles in the filmography section to the titles on the server (names, descriptions, years, posters, etc.) it also feels very disconnected from the rest of the server. Finally, having such complete lists feels less like useful information and more like a highlight of contents missing from the server which isn't the effect I want for my server. From a use-case perspective, I would never got to Netflix or Disney+ to see a complete list of movies that an actor/director/whatever have been a part of. For that I would go to IMDb, TMDB, tvdb or similar. I expect Emby to function more like the former than the latter. I can see that this has been a long standing feature request from some users, so I understand that a request to remove it completely would be counter-productive. But an option to disable this globally from the server would be much appreciated. HOWEVER... Splitting the titles by how the person contributes (actor/director/whatever) is an awesome addition. As is the extra information about the name of the character played by an actor. If this information and split could find its way to the "normal" film section (the one with titles on the from the server) I think that could make that section even more useful than it already is.
