Hmmm - I'm not sure about "correct" way, but I think there is possibly a standard way that is widely accepted. There are tags called RELEASETYPE and MUSICBRAINZ_ALBUMTYPE for this purpose. Other platforms already use these. If Emby had this field and could import the tags, then it would potentially be possible to either use your own embedded metadata, or perhaps fetched via MusicBrainz, which already classifies Album/Singles/etc by release type. Perhaps the MusicBrainz system could be the default, with the option to prioritize embedded metdata over the fetcher, much like what can be done for other data. Then, a "Group By" function could potentially be used to combine all so-called "Albums" as it is now, or separate the "Albums", based upon RELEASETYPE.

Display performer info in Album pages of Music Libraries

There'd definitely need to be some way to limit this behavior...for example, a blanket rule would make pieces performed by orchestras might make the screen a huge wall of text. Thankfully most such examples have a Musicbrainz type of "orchestra", I'd hope such a feature could let one choose to allow, say, allow-list solo/person and group types, but omit others. Just my tuppence. -

This has always been a fragmented/troublesome topic for me, and varies heavily across platforms. It might be simple to assume that albums/collections that have 1 track are singles, but there are often times entire albums that are shoved into a single 40 minute song. Another case is a "single" release where its a song and then maybe 3 or 4 remixes of that song put together. And again these are all dependent on the platform/publisher. But regardless, I personally don't see a "correct" way for Emby to distinguish between albums/singles/eps. EDIT: as a potential workaround, could include a track count property to display under each album.

JGelps started following Emby for Windows Loads forever on fresh boot
-
Since version 2.317.2.0, on a fresh boot of the PC I get a new loading bar after the intro screen but it never actually loads. I've given it 5-10 minutes just to see. This is happening on 2 PCs, one with Windows 11 and one with Windows 10. If I close the window and reopen it will work. I've attached 3 logs. 2 are from PC #1 where it failed to ever load(EmbyClient-PC1-NeverLoaded.txt), I closed and reopened, and then it crashed at the loading screen(EmbyClient-PC1-CrashOn2ndTry.txt). Third time trying worked. At least I think those are the right logs. Can't figure out how to change the time zone. Other log(EmbyClient-PC2-NeverLoaded.txt) is from PC #2 where it never loaded but worked the 2nd try. I've also noticed general sluggishness. Having to click things multiple times. Should I try a fresh install? How do I go about saving my settings and show progress? Thanks! EmbyClient-PC2-NeverLoaded.txt EmbyClient-PC1-CrashOn2ndTry.txt EmbyClient-PC1-NeverLoaded.txt

I may need to scrap this project, it turns out this type of plugin isn't as universal as hoped. I'm exploring a different approach and will keep you updated. -
Hi, the apps have a whitest of which ones they’ll accept. It’s a tight curated list to keep our apps compliant with store policies.

If it were a direct substitute, I would switch over to it in an instant, but it's not. The UI is not setup for a TV, you can't change channels by entering numbers from a remote, etc., there is a whole thread dedicated to the differences between the two.
-
I had it running a few weeks ago. Needed just a small set of adaptions. Perhaps a few years ago but a lot has changed. When we are able to pick this back up, its going to take some work before it is even ready for beta.

If an admin is logged on at a client eg Android. Why is it some plugins are accessible to the admin? If my plugin implements baseplugin<t> and IHASUIPAGES can it work on clients somehow. I see the autoorganise plugin works on clients but dont see anything special on its page declarations to make it work. thanks
-
vigorous searches!!

Also of note. I tried watching the same episode on my son’s Roku in his room, and it didn’t work. it does work when I watch on my iPhone app, on my computer& on the same TV with a fire stick. i had access to a beta version of the Emby roku but it seems to have disappeared from my Roku account.

New beta dropped with search improvements!! Will vigorously test soon
-
Happy you like it, have a lovely rest of your day/night!

All good, thanks for replying. Good work though, its looking really decent so far
-
It's definitely an emby specific issue, I'll fix it very soon for the new release, dont worry. Thank you for the patience, its been a long week.
-
Na just like this http://serverIP:8096/Moonfin/Web/#/server-select Thanks though, was worth a try. I do love the seerr integration, for the family to be able to add things on their own is great but I need the apps to be stable and just work.
-
...and you didn't do https ? Oh well worth a try (Mr Knowledgeable I ain't...)
-
I think its essentially a one stop shop. You won't need to set stuff up in NextPVR or some Linux equivalent. Talking to the tuner, lnb settings, finding channels, sorting, whatever, all in one place. And hopefully, if we're really really lucky, faster tuning.

Thanks, same spinning when I use this URL with my IP

I see its been mentioned as well on Github. Personally for number 2, I bookmarked this type of thing - 'http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8096/Moonfin/Web/#/server-select'
-
An issue has been submitted and I'm planning to work it this week along with the new plugin and core client release https://github.com/Moonfin-Client/Plugin/issues/208
-
You arent alone, I am getting the same.

This plugin looks really good in theory and I love how it integrates with seerr. Installed it to have a test but ran into a few issues. 1. Plugin install. I copies the moonfin.emby files and restarted emby. I see Moonfin in the plugins tab but a blue loading ring appears in the middle of the page and will not go away so unable to change any settings. I remove the files and used the 2.0.0 release and that seems to work. No idea what went wrong or where to find logs on it. 2. The :8096/moonfin/web web URL doesnt load, just a spinning Loading Moonfin logo. 3. LG OS app. Looks decent. I really like the rotating banners on the home page. However once i enable seerr integration and go back to the home page the banners are just a blank screen and writing "no description available" appears. Disabling seerr and this works normally again. Also changing user or reloading the app makes them load ok but once you click around a bit and come back to the home screen it goes back to being broken. 4. Apple TV. Again app looks nice but for some reason my libraries are not showing in the library settings menu so unable to add rows to my home page. Strange thing is it loads fine on my iphone (same account, same login etc...)

Display performer info in Album pages of Music Libraries
user24 replied to FredFrin's topic in Feature Requests
Hi, this is an interesting idea and would definitely be a "nice to have" for all music genres, but it may be difficult to get the data you want, across all your albums??? It seems like popular albums in MusicBrainz have the data, but many others do not. Looks like this has been asked for at least twice previously, one of which is an older post (5 years ago) from you: https://emby.media/community/topic/31937-music-performers-and-other-musings/ https://emby.media/community/topic/103370-per-track-album-musician-listing/ Just curious - did you try the Picard/Plugin suggested by Vicpa? Was it of any benefit? A couple of ideas if you have the relevant embedded metadata already, in fields that Emby does not currently import: Use Mp3tag to bulk copy/append the tags to the Artist field - Emby will then import to Artist field. Use Mp3tag to bulk copy the tags to ROONTRACKTAG - Emby will then import to Tag field. I hate to suggest this in an Emby forum, but have you trialled Roon to see what that does? It's expensive though and can't be greatly customised, which is why I prefer Emby myself. But if you want no fuss implementation, and now, before you turn 76...!!!, could be worth investigating...??? -
AndroidTv update now black screen with av1/opus videos
esaym153 replied to esaym153's topic in Android TV / Fire TV
Of the video? Sure but it was more or less created via ffmpeg 7.1 from debian stable via ffmpeg -i infile.mkv -c:v libsvtav1 -crf 32 -preset 8 -svtav1-params lp=4 -c:a libopus -ab 96K outfile.mkv And the attached copy was just a simple -c copy -to 00:03:00 The Office S02E16 Valentines Day_.mkv
