The Emby REST API is self-describing following the OpenAPI standard. You can get the OpenAPI JSON definition either from the SDKs: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.SDK/tree/master/Resources/OpenApi (download the beta SDK for the latest API versions) or from your own running server (in this case, it includes plugin APIs): see here: https://dev.emby.media/doc/restapi/index.html There are countless code generators available which generate API code from OpenAPI specifications. We don't provide any C++ ApiClient code, because - for once - the tooling we use doesn't have a generator for C++ and secondly, I think that in case of C++ (or plain C), there are just too many ways for implementing such ApiClient and there's not one-fits-all solution - even more, it's rather unlikely that - whatever we would produce - would be largely suitable and universal enough that it would be useful for many people. That's where OpenAPI comes into play: that way, you have endless choices for a code generator that will fit your needs.

I notice and I am not surprised that there are no C++ examples for the Rest API. I have a number of C++ using Qt libraries, that I would be willing to donate to the cause. If there were scripts that generated the current sample, I would be willing to take the time to modify the script to generate the C++ w/Qt examples Thoughts?

Please also add CreditsEnd to the DB besides IntroStart/IntroEnd/CreditsStart
Kyouma replied to Kyouma's topic in Feature Requests
So how likely is this of being implemented? I'm curently working through my stuff and there are a lot of after credits scenes. This would help immensely to not accidentaly skip them. Anything you can share? I'd honestly would hate to wait years for this, as this is generally a very nice feature to have. -
How do I disable trailers in the Android/Fire TV Emby app?
GrimReaper replied to rcsnoopdog's topic in Android TV / Fire TV
LOL not everything, but I'm somewhat familiar. Thanks, btw. As with any other plugin: it is impossible to test behavior under every conceivable setup so YMMV, but said plugin generally shouldn't have noticeable impact on your server as it only overlays/enhances posters with desired icons. Anyway, you can read through the plugin thread and decide for yourself whether to proceed with installation: -

You seem to know everything GrimReaper & a cool name to boot - on the plugin it says Plugins built by Emby community members are a great way to enhance your Emby experience with additional features and benefits. Before installing, please be aware of the effects they may have on your Emby Server, such as longer library scans, additional background processing and decreased system stability. Please click OK to confirm you've read the above and wish to proceed with the plug-in installation Is it really intensive as my set up is Windows 11 PC with an i5‑9400F, 16GB RAM, and about 30TB of storage across multiple 2.7–3.6TB hard drives, all plugged into four USB SATA docks — three dual‑bay docks and one single‑bay dock — merged together into one big DrivePool (L:). -
Any update on this yet?

I had this one working at one point,.. I can''t recall exactly when it started to fail, but now I can't get past this error when I try to set up a new source. It WILL let me proceed when I try it with a local file, but that kinda defeats the purpose for me. I just want it to run every couple of months to pull movies from an M3U file. I feel like I've tried everything I can think of...even ChatGPT seems to be stumped as well. I can't find any mention of it in any of the server logs. Anyone seen this error before?

I had just assumed this was already a thing, until dealing with a couple of attackers last night.

How do I disable trailers in the Android/Fire TV Emby app?
GrimReaper replied to rcsnoopdog's topic in Android TV / Fire TV
TV Shows are collection of items (episodes) and have no media properties per-se (like movies & episodes do) so you can't filter them by any media (video/audio/subtitle stream) property. The best you could do is get a visual indicator on poster (with EmbyIcons plugin) which can show an icon on the poster if all nested episodes have certain language subs. -
Add Refresh Metadata permission to non-Admin users

...yes? How else would I go about adding things? If it's not available online, what is refreshing the metadata going to achieve? -
How do I disable trailers in the Android/Fire TV Emby app?
rcsnoopdog replied to rcsnoopdog's topic in Android TV / Fire TV
The user can search for subtitles at the time of playback if they aren't there. Thanks for the reply. Just to confirm - is there currently no way to filter TV shows by subtitle language at the series level? Right now I can only filter episodes, which doesn’t help when trying to identify full shows that contain Ukrainian subtitles throughout. I’m using a workaround where I place Ukrainian‑subtitle shows into a separate folder for my foreign user. I just want to know if Emby officially supports subtitle filtering for TV shows, or if this is a limitation of the current system. Thanks. -
Read this ENTIRE thread before you try anything. The OP of the thread was NOT successful but YMMV.

Great Support. Thank you.

Mine is now running... made some mistakes with the folder definitions in the docker container, but figured it out in the end. The ugreen is so much smoother and reactive! Hardware makes a difference. Also using my old NVMEs as a volume now instead of cache becuase I can and Emby server lives there. But still waiting to switch back to a native install!

Thank you GrimReaper - I never seen that Another problem for my foreign User & me as admin is there is no way to filter tv shows by subtitle only the episodes so I have a separate folder for her & if I know a whole tv show has her subtitles the whole way through I add that tv show to her folder & add that folder to the original tv show folder so everyone else who can speak English can see Is there a way around this I don't know about or should I mark this as solved an open another post -

Yes but I want trailers & so do some other users, but some can't stand them being there & having to go next & move straight over to the movie - also I now have a user who is foreign & she has all movies filtered to her language but seeing trailers for movies she can't watch is rather annoying for her & also I would say another problem for her & me as admin is there is no way to filter tv shows by subtitle only the episodes so I have a separate folder for her & if I know a whole tv show has her subtitles the whole way through I add that tv show to her folder & add that folder to the original tv show folder so everyone else who can speak English can see it -

How do I disable trailers in the Android/Fire TV Emby app?
visproduction replied to rcsnoopdog's topic in Android TV / Fire TV
I thought the trailer pre-play preference was set by admin on the server and then all users get the trailers in all the same way. I have not seen an user individual preference setting. So, I think the answer is, as admin, change the trailer preference to 0 and no one will get trailers. If the same trailers appear all the time, I think that is because you only have a couple of trailer media files in trailers subdirectories for media or it could be that you only have a couple of trailers in the preview directory assigned with the admin controls. Add more trailers media files to stop only the two same trailers appearing. -

OK if all the plugins are back then I would keep an eye out for it happening again. -
That did it. I had no idea which one was most recent or that there would be any significant difference. Thanks for the quick solution.

How do I disable trailers in the Android/Fire TV Emby app?
rcsnoopdog posted a topic in Android TV / Fire TV
Hi, I have Emby set up at home so that 2 trailers play before every movie. On my server (Windows), this option is visible under Playback settings. However, on the Android/Fire TV version of Emby (Firestick 4K), I cannot find any setting to disable or change the “Play trailers before movies” feature. I need to know: Does the Android/Fire TV Emby app support disabling trailers? If so, where is the setting located? If not, is this feature server‑side only and the Fire TV app simply follows whatever the server is configured to do? Right now, trailers always play before movies on the Firestick, and I want to turn them off. Thanks.
