Yeah I would love to see some sort of communication from the team about this. Doesn't make me feel great about running this on my system. -

I was having the same issue on a new Android box I recently bought. Normally I would use Kodi with Embycon to connect to the server but for whatever reason, videos were choppy in Kodi on this hardware. So I've been trying alternative clients. When I tried to play any video with EAC3 audio in the Emby app, my amplifier would just output static and white noise (the video would stutter as well as if the static wasn't enough LOL). I didn't have any of these issues when I used Emby/Kodi/Jellyfin on a much older android TV though (same app, output from the same TV to the same amp via the same optical cable). Changing this setting in the Emby Android client app fixed the issue for me: Profile Settings/App Settings/Playback/Force Transcoding for formats - Turn on EAC3 (all format are turned off by default) Hope that helps others having a similar issue. And BTW - There's similar settings in Jellyfin and Wholfin client apps too.

Old artwork of previously deleted programs still appears on the media library covers
phoesky replied to phoesky's topic in Synology
Thanks for your reply. I have deleted the library cover art multiple times already, yet the newly regenerated covers still have the same issues. I also tried clearing EmbyServer/metadata/imagecache/library* via SSH, but none of these methods fixed the problem. Since my Emby is installed as a Synology package, I cannot locate where these outdated cover images are stored. -

in the end I ended up also exposing unencrypted ports, so I guess not. or do you mean some specific solution here?

Live TV unable to open m3u8 streams that throw a warning
Nimasa replied to Nimasa's topic in Live TV
Thank you for explaining and looking into it. Having that option on the server is helpful for such cases. So to play a stream Emby checks for a condition if acceptance of the security warning is permitted or not, and if so, it plays the stream. If not, for security reasons it won't play. Leaving it to admin to decide. And this option could be set for each stream separetly. Therefore, acceptance of one stream warning won't permit the other ones. I'd be thankful if you consider adding this option to Emby. -

@ab123gaIt kicks off a guide refresh in some cases because depending on what you update, other things have to get updated. The goal is to make this lighter on it's feet over time so that this no longer becomes necessary.

It may work already on the beta channel.

OK please try the update to the Discogs plugin that just went up. Thanks.

Latest Windows client is glitchy with remote navigation

Can you please try it? Thanks. - Yesterday

OK we'll take a look at it. Thanks.

Actually at this point the store app is ahead of the download. I would just install from the store.

This might impact your remote access but would not impact access on the LAN. And even then, you can setup port forwarding in your router and then you don't need the automatic port mapping: Connecting from Client Apps

I would also like to support this request for a proper native bulk metadata editor in Emby. Honestly, it is a bit discouraging to see that this request has been open for almost 10 years and there still does not seem to be clear progress in this area. Bulk metadata editing is a very important feature for users with large libraries who need to modify tags, genres, studios, people, metadata locks, or other fields across many items at once. So far, many users have relied on Bulky Editor, which is probably the plugin that comes closest to covering this need. However, the plugin does not seem to have received major updates for quite some time, and that is starting to show. With current Emby versions, several issues are appearing, especially when working with tags and bulk editing. For that reason, I think Emby really needs an official, maintained, and fully compatible solution for bulk metadata editing. A feature this basic and important should not depend on an external plugin that may no longer be actively maintained. I hope this can receive higher priority in future Emby versions.
