Cartoon Shows that are Actually Movies Organization Question
AVTechMan posted a topic in General/Windows
I haven't seen much on this but, as we know most cartoons are known based on series, season and individual episodes. However, I have alot of older cartoons, like Looney Tunes, Tex Avery and Droopy in which these were shown as theatrical shorts rather than episodes, so apparently TMDB is best over TVDB for these. Would it work to create a separate movie library to put the shorts into? Like for instance I already have a Movie library for feature length films, but now need to create another 'Movie' based library for the cartoon shorts, and would rather put it under Animation I suppose with mixed content so I could have all of the cartoons in one place. So something like this: \Movies\Tex Avery Collection\Bad Luck Blackie (1949).mkv Emby should be able to scrape this with TMDB and display correctly in the library. I believe alot of the Looney Tunes shorts should be done this was as well rather than forcing a season/episode layout that won't come out correctly. The Three Stooges are like this too, though there is a season/episode format with TVDB, they were also originally released as individual movie shorts and should probably be renamed that way similar to the cartoons. Does this sound about right? How about those that have done these particular shows? I have alot of LT and Tex cartoons I have yet to rip from my discs because of figuring out the file structure for these. -
I also have a problem with duplicates of the same video. If I delete one then it deletes everything in the folder. Just want to delete the second copy. Anybody know how to do that?

Luke It sounds a bit strange; the problems actually disappeared and I removed Emby from the Windows Store yesterday. I downloaded it again today to record a video of the issue I'd been having, but it didn't happen today.

EmbyVision Credits 1.0.0.1 — Stable Release
EncryptedCity replied to EncryptedCity's topic in Plugins
EmbyVision Credits 1.0.0.2 Update I have updated EmbyVision Credits to version 1.0.0.2 to address an issue where Emby could remove credits markers during library scans, refreshes, or other library operations. The main focus of this update is making credits detection more persistent and preventing unnecessary re-detection of episodes that have already been processed. The update adds improved marker recovery, better backup and restore handling, and the ability to reuse existing credits information when available. It also improves handling of credits information already present in media files. The goal is simple: once EmbyVision Credits has successfully detected the credits for an episode, it should not need to repeatedly scan and process that episode just because Emby performed a library operation. This release is primarily a reliability and persistence update rather than a major change to the detection engines. The new plugin release is on GitHub at my repository. https://github.com/encryptedcity/EmbyVision-Credits/releases/tag/v1.0.0.2 -

Air Date Fixer — Corrects upcoming dates for your timezone outside the US
Blueskies278 replied to Blueskies278's topic in Plugins
Update V8 — Early testing is looking very promising! The issues I was tracking down are fixed, and it ran stably overnight, which is right where it used to fail. I'll keep testing for at least a week just in case any other bugs pop up, and then I'll upload the plugin for beta testing. I'll post another update once it's ready. Thanks for all the interest so far! -
SamES started following Emby Lag on 2 LG QNED TVs

Are these TV's both the same model (32LR60006LA)? If so, they are 32" and only 1080/FHD displays, they can't natively play 4K content. That means that any 4K media will need to be transcoded. Whether that is successful depends on how capable your server is. What hardware and specs is your server running on? We might need to adjust something to ensure that it never tries to DirectPlay 4K on these models and goes straight to transcoding, but regardless, if your server is not capable of transcoding 4K content down to 1080p fast enough then you will still struggle with playback.

Hello hatharry, Yes, that's correct. Another issue is that it might play in a different echo group when you say next. Thanks -

Hi, what exactly do you mean by random? There is no randomization that is part of this feature.
-
i disagree the feature isn't broken. i didn't use my computer at all. and setting was on.. To me that means the feature is clearly broken.. It does not work properly on the Windows app... Personally i don't see what it that hard about changing a line of code from random to 2-3... Like i said in my post, this random business isn't efficient for anyone running your apps..

It means the whole name; there are situations when part of the name may be assumed. Paul

I'm happy you like it!

But that isn't a reason not to give the information asked for; you'd want to help the devs fix any problems if they are ones you and your friends care about, right? Developers like to see logs and full descriptions of what you are experiencing - and Luke is chief developer, so he'd know. And details matter. Audio problems are often a matter of what devices are connected and the settings in those devices, as well as the app trying to pull things together. A search in the forum should find threads dealing with that kind of issue. Paul

Hey guys, took a little bit of a breather after the last release, I'll have a new plugin version out this week with these things ironed out. If you got time to submit an issue on github so I can track it better with the others, I'd appreciate it. Thank you!
-
Think this will ever be capable of being added to actual plugins?
-
Its the old Emby electron based app available on Github. Its not a 3rd party app.
-
hi, we'll take a look at it. thanks.

abroadhursthall started following BUG: iOS App - PIN Visible

On the iOS app, the PIN is fully visible when entering it. On the web app and Samsung TV app, it is hidden by dots. Obviously, this is poor security practice. I couldn't find anything here mentioning this. Can this be fixed, please? iOS: 26.6 App: Emby for iOS 2.2.56 Server: 4.9.5.0

Very nice work guys!. You now have a professional modern look and it's very "on-brand" associating the distinctive Emby logo with the value propositions, through to the details and the action buttons, by using the Emby green color throughout, without overdoing it. I hope this new design achieves what you wanted it to and helps to draw in many new customers, for ongoing success!

Home Screen shows Series thumb by default, which cannot/doesn't have any of the treatments few plugins offer for episode images. Series thumb takes priority over episode primary image. Episode thumb takes priority over series thumb. I've elaborated on that years ago (2023).
