I am working on a couple of plugins for this. A chrome plugin, that on Rotten Tomatoes, imdb, themoviedb, and the tvdb, you can send a request via email to me, so I can find the media. A complimentary plugin to the first, for the server owner, that on the same sites can search for the current movie/TV show, on a website setup by the server admin. Im working on getting this working with an executable (such as keepstreams) to get the media. An emby plugin, that will allow the user to request a missing episode which I am trying to tie into the current missing episode flow I would love to be able to have an emby plugin that showed all collections a movie was part of. Showing a ton more collections and movies that are missing. Then I would extend the emby plugin for missing episodes to missing movies. I already have a desktop application that will query an emby server and it then searches for the episodes. If anyone is interested in it, let me know

Yes, which is exactly what's preventing myself from downgrading, because the database changes typically require a clean install. You can try a dirty install of an older version (after you've backup up your system folder), but do so at your own risk with no guarantees.

Follow up on my post above - I checked the stable image so nobody has to guess. 4.9.5.0 has both of the same bits: the bubble is still built as "sliderBubble dialog", and the thumbnail is still set inline with getBubbleElement().style.backgroundImage. So it isn't something new in 4.10, stable is affected the same way. On the .infoBanner one, that depends on which base Emby theme you're using. Stable defines --card-background-lightness at a few different values, so on a dark base theme the banner comes out dark and there's nothing wrong. Mine resolved light, which is where the unreadable text came from. So that one won't hit everybody.

TBH I have never tried, since I had issues earlier. And just decided to not try again, and combined all episodes with multi parts. After that I never looked back.

Did you modify the service in any way? Using systemctl edit for example? This can only happen if our LD_LIBRARY_PATH is already present in the environment when systemd runs our launcher script.

I'm only reporting the issue with ET 3.0.20/21. I'm not using the Windows App so I can't verify that it is happening there. I was commenting on @Mahinepuapost regarding having the same issue with the latest beta Windows App version.

Hi, first off thanks for this theme. Been running it on my server for a bit and the web client finally looks like something I want to open. Much appreciated. Ran into one issue and I think I found the cause, so posting it here in case it's useful. The preview thumbnails when you hover the progress bar during playback weren't showing for me. The bubble itself appeared fine - right size, dark background, chapter name and timestamp all there - just no image. Turns out Emby builds that bubble with the class "sliderBubble dialog", and it paints the thumbnail as an inline style: nowPlayingPositionSlider.getBubbleElement().style.backgroundImage = "url('...')" So it gets caught by this rule in the theme: html body .dialog { background: rgb(23, 31, 44) !important; background-color: rgb(23, 31, 44) !important; ... } The background shorthand sets background-image to none, and because it's !important it beats a normal inline style. So the image gets wiped before it can render. Removing just the shorthand line fixes it, and nothing changes visually because the background-color line right underneath is already doing the work. Same thing on the .sliderBubble rule further up. That one isn't !important so it doesn't kill the image, but the shorthand still resets background-size and background-repeat, so the thumbnail ends up tiled at full size instead of fitted. Changing it to background-color sorts it: .sliderBubble { border-radius: var(--ee-smallRadius); background-color: var(--ee-drawerColor); } One caveat - I'm on 4.10.0.22 beta, not stable. So I honestly don't know if this is a 4.10 markup change or if it hits everyone. If someone on stable can hover the progress bar mid playback and say whether the thumbnail shows properly, that would settle it. My guess is the tiling one would still show up on stable even if the first doesn't. Second thing, unrelated. On the dashboard the server info panel at the top (version, ports, LAN and WAN access) is basically unreadable for me. Emby gives .infoBanner a light background of its own and the theme doesn't restyle it, so you end up with light grey text on near white. Added this and it's fine now: .infoBanner { background-color: var(--ee-selectorBackgroundColor); color: var(--ee-textColor); } Worth knowing if you try it - I had to use "html body .infoBanner" with !important to make it stick. The dashboard's own CSS gets lazy loaded when you navigate there, so it lands after the custom CSS and wins at equal specificity. Took me a while to work that out, I thought my rule just wasn't loading at all. Anyway, minor stuff overall. Thanks again for putting this together.

That's great to hear - thanks for testing it and confirming. Good news for anyone else on macOS/.NET 6 too. I'll get the multi-targeting change committed properly (it's currently just a local build, not pushed yet) and make sure future releases include both a .NET 6 and a .NET 8 DLL as separate downloads, so this isn't something you have to build yourself going forward. Appreciate you being willing to try an unverified build - saved a lot of guessing.

Thanks. Does that mean Emby still cannot handle multi-file episodes? …I saw a post on this in 2020. Even Plex can do it.

Thank you very much for your time and detailed response, I really appreciate it. I'll keep using my app and we'll see if you guys open up the plugin model for 3rd party plugins. It might be worth while considering a specific case: it's not open for complex 3rd party plugins, only the ones that are simple and don't need to be updated much. That way reviewing the plugins becomes relatively easy and inexpensive while not having to review a bunch of future updates. That reduces he risk etc, and while I'm writing this I have a feeling you guys already considered that as well. Thank you again, and thank you for Emby.

In the thread below Luke describes why they picked those bitrates. FR is to give user some way to modify. You can use the diagnostics plug to modify the transcode parameters, but it's very limited.

Not sure what you mean by library configuration. Also, if it makes a difference, I am using the free version of Emby, before making a purchase decision. Thanks

Ah my bad, I thought version v2.1.53 is released but it is in beta. When Emby server transcodes, the target audio bit rate is quite low. No I have no specific issue. Just curious why the target bit rate is set so low.

Downgrading from what i have now sounds like a daunting task. Won't the database have issues?

Emby software (4.9.5.0) is installed on an iMac running Darwin 25.6.0, it loads every time the iMac is turned on. During the day, when Emby is not being used, the log file seems to record that the client disconnected from the host for a short period (http/1.1 Response completed after client disconnected to host1. Time: 1405ms.). This is not an issue at that time. However, when this happens when media is being streamed to a TV (LG OLED55C9PLA) this disconnection pauses playback for a period of one - two minutes before continuing to stream. The TV uses App version 1.0.50 and this App instigates the stream. In the attached log file the media stream was paused around 19:57:48 for a few minutes and again around 20:29:59. The media is stored on an external Seagate HDD connected directly to the iMac by USB. Both the iMac and the TV are on a DECO Mesh network at 5 GHz, setting ‘High' priority with fixed nodes and Mesh Technology ‘Off’. No other software is running on the iMac concurrently when buffering takes place. Emby is configured for Direct Play and the files are all mp4 ranging in size from 650 Mb to 3 Gb and hard disks are not allowed to 'sleep’. There is no consistency to the size of files that are affected. When the spinning buffering icon is displayed on the TV there are two options: 1. Wait a couple of minutes until the stream continues or, 2. Rewind the stream by 10 seconds. In the second case the stream immediately restarts though it does not guarantee that it will remain uninterrupted. Yes you can add multiple folders to the same library. Can you show your library configuration?
