OK it's odd that the 2017 movie got the same metadata and therefore was merged. If you have the server log from when it was first imported then we might be able to figure that out. Otherwise you've done right to clean it up manually. If you see another odd match like that please let us know and attach the emby server log from when it was first imported. thanks.

How are you files organized and named? Please provide screenshots. Based on what you've shown all the episodes are being considered part of Season 2. If you edit the metadata on "The Gospel According to Bobby Glass" and "The Road to Kingdom" what does it say for season and episode number?

@Luke@GrimReaper Always have it like this, its OK for 1 Season but asap it have or add a 2nd Season it does create the Folders, this time for 1st time, Emby refused to create Season Folders, refusing to follow the selected instructions... a New Bug ?

I don't often have my server on, but I want to listen to my offline music. Previously I had to wait a long time for the app to try connecting to the server before it figured out it couldn't before I could reach my downloaded music. Now I can get to it right away.

@Luke Previously, I had edited the main or original folder for S01 to put it inside a new main folder only with name, yr, resolution, then added S02 after S01. I had done this since day 1 I use Emby, never had an issue. Yesterday was the 1st time Emby chose to remove the TV series after edit and add S02, also it is the only TV Series ever done this. Hope this helps

@Luke After splitting S01 and S02, is there but when I click on the TV Series it will not create folders for each Season, it have 1 road with both Season. Adding a attachment pic so you can see now, I did move a little the episodes road to show both S01 and S02

No Luke they were not. That's the problem. My series was setup properly, NAMED properly, and Emby still decided to merge episodes together. It decided that episode 0001 and 0232 were both episode 0001. It also decided that episode 0002 and episode 0808 and 0203 were episode 0002.
-
@Luke I'm splitting the S01 from S02 and do a new scan and see if fix this but if fails, Need exactly what you want because without Emby locating this TV series I have no idea how to show you

Great, looking forward to the “editions” feature

Library Real Time Monitoring needs SAFETY CHECK
Lessaj replied to MacGyver27's topic in General/Windows
I haven't run on Emby on Windows in well over 10 years, I would need to test to provide any concrete advice, but if a drive isn't available then it wouldn't be there at all to scan, so that shouldn't be an issue. If, however, you had mapped say D:\ as a library folder, and you attach a new drive with that letter and the drive is blank, or contains other media, then sure it will scan it. If you had D:\Movies mapped instead, and now the newly mounted disk doesn't have that folder, it also shouldn't clear anything because that folder isn't there at all. -
[Beta] ROMote – play your retro game collection in the browser (NES → PlayStation)
utah-dave replied to digitalirony's topic in Plugins
I see the beta is done and over. and when I go to play a game it says that I need to download it from the catalog. But its not showing up in the catalog. Any way to get a download that we now can use? -
Thanks, not heard of Home Screen Companion but interested to know your thoughts/feedback when you get going with it. Sounds like it could be an option. If I have to rebuild my collections, I want some confidence that they'll stay.

Offline Music Sync - Not Viable in 2026 despite statements back to 2022 that it's planned for the future
ColinPostsHere replied to ColinPostsHere's topic in Feature Requests
I believe you can select a Playlist to download (maybe it's a genre), and then all songs in that playlist (or genre) will download, including from new albums added later. So Emby already supports syncing in that fashion without needing to manually keep selecting albums to download. However, there is no way to PLAY them by that same filter (exactly as you described). You have to select the album or the song, which is effectively unusable for many thousands of songs and many hundreds of albums. I'm 100% with you in wanting to be able to PLAY based on that playlist, including both in playlist order and by shuffle. (I don't personally care about filtering albums that are fully downloaded because all new albums always fully download automatically to my phone whenever it's back on my home network, but I respect you and others may have different needs.) - Today

I don't know what you did but it made it worst now i can no longer search in emby either

eagleeye208 started following [Beta] AFI-100 Plugin
-
Hello everyone, I’m excited to share the initial beta release of the AFI-100 plugin for Emby! My ultimate goal is to submit this for inclusion in the official Emby plugin catalog, but first, I want to make sure it is thoroughly tested, reliable, and genuinely useful for the community. The Background For film buffs and collectors who love cinema history, the American Film Institute’s "100 Years... 100 Movies" lists are the gold standard for tracking iconic cinema. While Emby already provides powerful collection and tagging tools, curating these specific historic lists has traditionally meant manually looking up ranks, creating custom collections by hand, and cross-referencing external websites to see which classics you own. The Solution The AFI-100 plugin enhances Emby’s existing collection features by automating that curation. It evaluates your movie library against the official AFI lists, seamlessly builds the dedicated collections, and highlights qualifying films with their rank and recognition year. It provides an effortless way to celebrate cinema history in your library and see how your collection stacks up—completely automated and integrated with Emby. I’ve attached the compiled .dll to this post for anyone interested in testing it out. Please drop it into your server's plugins directory, take it for a spin, and let me know how it works for you. Any feedback, testing on different library setups, or bug reports will be invaluable as we polish it up for the official catalog submission! Privacy & Security One important design choice for this plugin is that it is completely self-contained. It requires zero external network activity—there are no outbound API calls, external database dependencies, or telemetry. All AFI milestone data and logic are bundled directly into the plugin itself, meaning your server’s library data and viewing habits never leave your local environment. It is lightweight, respects your privacy, and runs entirely offline. The full source code can be viewed on GitHub as well: https://github.com/bespokedb/AFI-100-Plugin Emby.Plugin.Afi100.dll

Library Real Time Monitoring needs SAFETY CHECK
Lessaj replied to MacGyver27's topic in General/Windows
If you set up your library folders as I mentioned you wouldn't have that issue. -
I understand your confusion, let me explain. "Maximum API lookups per run" (plugin setting) is per scan run, not per day. v1.0.8.6 defaults it to 10,000; if yours still shows 200, that's the old saved value from before the update. A run stops when it hits this number, and the next run/scheduled task continues where it left off. Setting it to 500 is fine — the per-run number is just a cap on one run, it doesn't reserve or guarantee anything against the daily limit. API daily limit is enforced server-side: 500 requests/day with an API key, 100 without. Once you hit it you get 429s and the plugin backs off, then that run stops with a clear log message; it resumes on a later run after the daily window resets. So yes, 500 works as a per-run value, but with an API key that would use your entire daily budget in one run. Nothing wrong with leaving the default and letting it chip away across runs — items already scanned are skipped, so repeat runs stay cheap. The setting exists for two reasons: If you have a large library, the run may take multiple days to complete. In which case, the API isn't the bottleneck, your system/network is. Or, you can cap it so it doesn't run through your entire API budget within a single run. Also, this does allow for some flexibility in the future so we can increase the rate limit if we decide to do so.

@Luke Hi, Is named as always, Tittle, Yr, Season Number/Ep.. Yesterday when I added + few other Episodes for different series, I saw Emby adding all those and this TV Series was there, then after it finishes updating the info, it flash and all other episodes are there except this TV series it vanish. Under TV Series is not there S01 nor S02, if I do to settings and search to Metadata Folders, is not there. If I do a manual search it comes per episodes but Emby will only provide S01and not S02. If I go to my folders outside Emby, I can see S02 have all the images and metadata added by Emby. I did took out the S02, refresh Emby and added back again, no luck and seems it is not merged to another TV Series as I do not have other named the same except the original Movie.. Hope this helps

Library Real Time Monitoring needs SAFETY CHECK
C.S. replied to MacGyver27's topic in General/Windows
My data is backed up. I'm not rich, just paranoid. As a paranoid person I would prefer if Emby took a beat before removing huge swaths of my library before I even have a chance to see that there's a problem. I would prefer Emby throw out an alert that says something like Hey a huge number of files are gone, do you want to continue scanning? Yes, the data is gone for a reason. The reason is an accident occurred. A very common accident. Help me out with a notification and give me a chance to fix things before moving ahead. This is reasonable. -
That's a fair point. But left others baffled, like me. Even on wired network with 1 - 5ms pings this happens Why is this afflicting us and why not just remote connections. Emby knows when it a remote connection / different network.
